I love that you are always singing. I am always singing too so I totally enjoy it when someone else is like me in that reguard. My friends have learned to expect me to burst into song randomly in the middle of any conversation.
I love this video because you show that it’s not an easy project. I am doing a chess set at the moment and am having problems getting the squares perfect.
UV resin might give you more time to spread things out, and then you can cure things in less time. So if you wanna try this again you can do the edge, cure it, and then do the other things and not worry about it drying on you. And squeeze bottles might help instead of the other tool you used. You can probably get ones with wider tips too so you can use glitter. It'd probably be easier. And you should try cutting the tips of the squeeze bottles at an angle to give you more control over the flow of the resin.
I use syrenges from Party city pipettes take WAY TOO long, and syringes have more control for me anyway... and if you clean with alcohol you can re-use them for a while. !! give it a go.. you might like it.... oh and if you over pour something they are GREAT for sucking up just a bit or a whole syringe full if necessary.. lol.
Thanks. When you’re by yourself Crafting you want your audience to feel as if they know you so I feel like what else better to do than talk as if everyone is family and we’re having fun. 🤪

I am doing a board & chess pieces as I watch your videos. It's my first time at using resin. I have the UV resin & found the UV light off the fishtank is 48 very bright UV LEDs compared to the 6 watt toy that arrived from TEMU. Lol. My first mistake was coating the moulds in black graphite as it blocks the UV rays so pieces are taking ages. I'll pour next lots in stages so it takes 3 pours and curings to make sure the UV light works effectively.
@@TheCraftingNook I will get the a&b resin to redo the pieces. The three drops of black I added to the resin hadn’t seemed enough to make the resin change colour except the grey tinge around the seam of the bottom of the paper cup. However it dried pitch black, like the usual black of chess men. No wonder resin couldn’t set. I am using the big box my craft trolley was packed in for a light box. I put a mirror in the bottom & have both flaps closed before turning the lights on. Thanks for the safety advice, very good of you thanks.
@@TheCraftingNook I liked the no 92, I watched 91 first and then recognised the pieces which were curing. I think I was gyped or misled by the resin shop as it cured perfectly at 36 hours onwards…. The instructions on the bottle said required 36 W to cure, but the Lamp they sent was 6 watts . I am at end stage heart failure and unwell so I’m doing everything at once & was surprised I had been sitting at the same place for 36 hours straight before I noticed the time. The chessboard wafers had worked out at 24 hours before setting under the lamps in the box under the fan ventilation.
You are brave doing the checker board squares in one go. I tried that and made a mess. I ended up leaving the ones that bled into the others over night and peeled them off the board and redid them. I like your colour choices. My board border is wider than yours. If people don’t want to listen to your gab, they can fast forward to the end. I personally don’t care how long the video is. You are easy to listen too and I love your giggle.
How sweet Bae’ 💕 I really didn’t think about the bleed but I’ll end up doing it again but it was so boring. I had to just cut a lot out because I run my mouth too much. 🤪🤦♀️
@@TheCraftingNook next time when you fill your squares use the pipette instead of the Is popsicle stick should help with corners 😉 I learned this from another crafter

🤣 thanks Angie. I wish we could but if we could all kinds of music will be up there😳. I’ll just keep doing my non sounding self and give y’all a laugh every now and then. 💕
I agree with Katherine Leis! I cast the chess set and I did it in two stages cuz I only did two colors but I did the blue first and then I let that set and I had problems with Katherine did, I let my flaws harden and then I took him out and recast him in the end I did get a nice chess board and I'm now doing the pieces so I don't post videos about my process but I will post a picture or maybe a video of the end result!
I’ve always done it in one go at the beginning but now that I’ve done a few I pour one color one day and the other the next. Thank you Mr. Keith for watching. 🥰
To help with it getting rid of the thickness like that, use a heating pad to make it thin and flow better. It really works, just wanted to share my tip with you. Stay crafty.
Thank you so much. I really appreciate your tip I’ll make sure that I will continue to do many crafts to help people as well as myself 😊 I’m still going on this journey. Thanks for stopping by. I’d love to see you more in the comments. 💕
QUESTION FOR ALL OF YOU EXPERIENCED RESIN-WORKERS- Is there any reason (other than the time-element) that I could not avoid the potential bleed-over and other multiple color problems by creating and curing and demold all one color. Then, work with finished squares to build the board in two color squares. Then finish the board by pouring a clear layer over the whole thing and allow it to cure as one piece? After all the squares are all the same size. I could pipe the grid lines and then put the squares down so that the piping and squares are perfect. What do you guys see as potential problems? Thank you in advance for your guidance.
Hello MMGA my apologies for such late response. First I’d like to thank you for watching now I’ll get into your question the best that I can. The reason for (me) doing it as I did was so that I could have the multiple color and it not bleed into the previous color. I don’t think it’s nothing wrong with how you are explaining it oh if you don’t mind the mixture of colors. If I’m understanding it correctly you are saying why not do your pour then come back and do it how you want once it’s cured? I think it would take more time that way but I’m sure it can be done. I think I would totally make a mistake that way. Maybe one day I’ll try just for the heck of it. Please correct me if I understood that incorrectly. I’m always open to tips, ideas, and experiments. Thank you again for watching. 💕
Once it cures you can take a rose gold paint pen for your lines, or a dark teal even if you end up doing the background rose gold glitter , this is gonna be pre-tay!!!!
First time watching and love the colors you chose...new subbie! I plan to get a board mold soon and will most likely let each section cure before pouring the next, i.e. boarder first, first set of spaces next, then the second set of spaces and that depends on how the mold is made. Also, you can put whatever music you want just so long as you put in the description box who it belongs to. Tfs
With this mold it doesn’t look like it matters, bc you can rotate it, but on some molds I have seen it does, as the frames are rectangular instead of square. ....if you ever change molds it will be important to know that your bottom right corner is always supposed to be the lighter color.
i used this set and for some reason the board pulled in the corners and left me with a slight dome in the middle still dont know why lol i use a syringe when i use glitter so it doesn't clog plus you can can control how much goes in and you know the all have the same
