Do you know what the best part of this video is? It’s that you didn’t just unbox it and set the contents on a table. Looks like you spent some time evaluating and using the kit. Excellent video very well thought out and produced. Bloopers were great too. Thanks for your efforts and sharing your thoughts
We reviewed this kit on our channel a while back. I have to say it is one of the most thought out kits I've seen. I enjoyed how you separated the gear into categories. With this kit and the survival rifle your golden. Thanks
I feel like that kit, an ar7, a tarp, a flashlight, paracord, firstaid kit, a lifestraw, and a nice knife in a backpack would be a great thing to havve in the truck of any car
sootch you have a great channel and you are always giving me ideas with survival and you inspire me to get prepared for a survival situation. keep up the good work
Maaan I've stayed 11 years in u.s army no need for basics I've been lost for 2 months no survival kits no shelters no food no water but I've kept together I'm 64 years old And I still readied for emergency
Built my own kit similar to this but I used a french mess kit as the container. I just keep it in a ziploc bag to make it water proof. Also didn't cost me anywhere near the $100 Henry is charging for this kit.
Dude. I've been watching your videos for a good couple of years now and your end takes always crack me up. Keep them comin along with the good info and demonstrations.
I am a huge fan of your pages and videos i love how you record your videos and not just show us survival kits and items but also use them. Keep up the good work
I really like your videos. They show us that you care and want us to be prepared for emergencies. Thanks for your efforts in putting together good, useful information.
Your videos are always very polished and professional. Your out takes keep me in stitches. I never knew how much work it was to do these videos until you showed your out takes. God Bless the Republic. Smoke them if you got them.
I really like to see video's on things that really work , you have so many products that are just for show these days but , this was well thought out . I agree with you on the box , as a cooking container it would be better .
there is a tin called bcb survival, they had the good sense to make the clip rollers aluminum so you can use it for a cooking pot. the plastic rollers on this one takes that off the table.
Don, just watched your vid on the Henry US Survival kit and placed my order! This is perfect survival to my Get Home Bag I assembled after watching your video.
Great video again :D I guess you could add some foil to cook on for this. Too bad it looks like the brochure is on paper... The tin and the most of the tools are really cool. BTW do any of bags or the container hold that 1 quart or under 1L of water for the water purification tablets?
You cracked me up on how you were using the wire saw. They are made to create a bow saw from a limb and also to tie between two trees and you run the wood across the saw. The way you used it, it will heat up and break.
Walking down the driveway, suddenly the need arises to go into the bag, get the proper piece of gear, navigate through the woods, and build a fire... I dont know why, I liked that intro!
Good stuff for a small kit. If you want to make your own kit, I use an ordinary women's Kotex pad for abdominal pad, and a small BCB compass. BCB also makes a good firesteel with compass and striker combined. Coghlans sells a large orange garbage bag which can be the bivy. They also sell a good GLASS signal mirror at reasonable price. Victorinox Farmer would be a good knife in a kit this size as it has a saw in it. Dental floss is small and will do for extra cordage and fushing line. Flashlights are very small nowadays -- an olight with extra AAA battery would be good.
+William Cornejo You are lucky to have the stainless steel version, it is heavier but it is also much safer to use over a fire! If I could afford such a kit, I would INSIST in getting it in ss form. Cook and boil water now without fear.
That looks like one of the better ones on the market. What I like about it, is that you can open it and check it out before you head out, add stuff to it, or replace items. I would probably add some zip ties, foil, lighter and candy to it. Unlike the sardine types which once open, you cant reseal.
I don't know when you filmed the footage, but I notice the abdominal pad expires next month. It's one of the cheapest and easily replaceable objects in there, so not a big deal.
WeeItsNookies it's not guaranteed sterile after the expiry date. I'd rather have an expired and not necessarily sterile pad than none at all but they're so cheap, it's easy to replace
Great kit, presentation, and bloopers. Reckon as reckon might reckon then... all the male head of households in my clan will receive one of these as soon as possible. Each Patriarch of the family structure should strongly consider the action as well. Even if never needed, the thought of your caring will live on for generations. -gilpin 8-30-15
I was wondering if you had the ability/Time to do a long distance get home bag the items you would have I'm working on putting my bag together it's tough when you want to bring a lot and have a limited amount of room lol! I was thinking your video could help (I'm a truck driver local but I drive 200miles out) Thank You! Great video also!
The mfg. recommends NOT using it for cooking because of the possibility the plastic/rubber tube buffers on locking mechanism would melt if exposed to fire as well as the O-ring seal on the lid. My hack to using this kit as a cooking pot was to cut the locking tube buffer length wise along the lock wire clamps and re-sealing it with electrical tape. When I need it for cooking I simply remove the electrical tape from the tubes, then pull off the tubes. I hook a makeshift wire hanger to each side of the locking clamps to set it over the fire. I use foil paper as a lid and the Survival kit lid as a plate. After cooking I reverse the process.
I'm not generally a fan of pre-made kits, but this one does look pretty good. Unlike most pre-mades all of the contents look to be good quality. For those that still like to make their own, you can get that exact box, (without the Henry logo,) from Amazon for about $20. Just put: Adventurer Aluminum Survival Kit Box into the search bar.
you can get the kutlasted minimaster multitool at the boyscouts of America store in mobile Alabama for $2-$5....I am a former boy scout and know from experience.
I have say that ten can be use as a cooker if need it you take out all stuff boil water in it cook food it it not only carrier more then 29 item it 30 item you remove the top
Henry SHOULD link your video to their site. I seen this kit while messing around on their site but the description and limited pics doesn't really do it justice. Nice kit really for someone to add to their existing pack or to start off with, even tho I am small fan of them it beats the smaller altoids kits hands down.
It would be worth it for me to buy the kit for it's incredible contents and then replace the Aluminum container with one of my 2 steel military cooking tins of the same size. I live on the Canadian Prairies; in Winter unless you are fortunate enough to find open water (fat chance when our rivers typically have 18 - 24 inches of ice!) you WILL need to heat packed snow to create drinking water.
Adding a universal pot holder will turn the container into a cook it. Maybe because it is coated they don't recommend it but the word survival necessitates it. Perhaps they should make it out of titanium. Thanks for the review.
Very nice kit, however for what these and other survival kits cost, you could make up your own with a similar array of items for alot less money. I made up my own mini survival kit from items I already had around the house. Didn't cost me a penny.
I think the tin looks a bit too big for me, it's not something I would carry in my pocket so if i'm out and about without my pack it probably wouldn't be with me and they are times when that happens.
Don, the only thing I think they could've done better is vaccum sealed the instructions, that way the paper doesn't disintegrate if ur looking at it in wet conditions.
Do you know what the best part of this video is? It’s that you didn’t just unbox it and set the contents on a table. Looks like you spent some time evaluating and using the kit. Great I'll look for it 🥂
You should do a video where you go into the woods for three days and actually put this kit to the test and actually use it to survive on!
This is one nice little emergency kit just about everything you're going to need in an emergency in the kit. Thanks for sharing.
Gotta love it when someone takes down a twig with a saw. Other than that, great kit. Thanks for sharing!
The limb was an inch thick.... but it would cut much bigger. Anything bigger needs a field knife or hatchet.
Living Survival t'y
I gave one of these to a friend for Christmas, and she was very surprised at how much she has used it.
I feel like that kit, an ar7, a tarp, a flashlight, paracord, firstaid kit, a lifestraw, and a nice knife in a backpack would be a great thing to havve in the truck of any car
6:10 "Both metric and standard."
You sir, disappoint me.
sootch you have a great channel and you are always giving me ideas with survival and you inspire me to get prepared for a survival situation. keep up the good work
Maaan I've stayed 11 years in u.s army no need for basics I've been lost for 2 months no survival kits no shelters no food no water but I've kept together I'm 64 years old
And I still readied for emergency
Love the bloopers at the end of this vid. Thank you much, really appreciate you and all your hard work...
that is probably 'the' best off the shelf survival tin/kit i have seen,
(very impressed with the tin too)
I’m going to get one of those for each truck and car be great thing to have just in case thanks again for your time and information god bless
Built my own kit similar to this but I used a french mess kit as the container. I just keep it in a ziploc bag to make it water proof. Also didn't cost me anywhere near the $100 Henry is charging for this kit.
+HUGH JAYNUS ya, it is silly to buy this. however, perhaps some rich guy would buy this to gift to someone.
I use a Dutch or British mess tin set. They carry a bit more and you can cook in them. Some of the Dutch kits are stainless steel or Aluminum.
Dude. I've been watching your videos for a good couple of years now and your end takes always crack me up. Keep them comin along with the good info and demonstrations.

I really like your videos. They show us that you care and want us to be prepared for emergencies. Thanks for your efforts in putting together good, useful information.
Surgical tube can also be used as getting water that might be out of reach or between rocks. Also tube can be used as sling shot
Your videos are always very polished and professional. Your out takes keep me in stitches. I never knew how much work it was to do these videos until you showed your out takes. God Bless the Republic. Smoke them if you got them.
I feel you are a really good teacher, thank you for sharing
The tin will be not recommended for cooking because of the coating as well as the plastic rollers potentially melting if you cook with it.
Man I really enjoyed this video and because of which I am purchasing both items. Thanks a million. You're the best!
Awesome video! Henry is a great company. I plan on getting one of these soon. I hope they keep doing what they are doing! Thanks for the video.
I really like to see video's on things that really work , you have so many products that are just for show these days but , this was well thought out . I agree with you on the box , as a cooking container it would be better .
Very cool. Going to get one of these and one of the rifles to keep under my truck seat.
I liked the bloopers at the end best of all.
Don't buy survival kit before you read my review. Go to *williamreviews(dot)net/survival-kit-review/*. Thanks, Hugo.

Sweet little kit. I agree it would be a big plus if the container could be used for cooking. Awesome Review!
Haha! loved the bloopers. Looks like a solid backup system.
Great video again :D

Grant Glenndale I truly thought this was a joke video when I first saw this, not familiar with the channel.
Coffee filters ! great idea. Thank you .

I just got mine in the mail today.. It's a stainless steel instead of an anodize.. Does that mean it's cookable now..?
+William Cornejo You are lucky to have the stainless steel version, it is heavier but it is also much safer to use over a fire! If I could afford such a kit, I would INSIST in getting it in ss form. Cook and boil water now without fear.
Your videos are awesome! I REALLY appreciate the demo.of contents at the end. Thank you & please keep up the great work.
i like that it has a small size and stores everything
hamza javed , it's feckin massive for a survival kit
Hello: You could put in a tampon, Bic, chap stick and some jute twine.
Best glide makes the same tin, but it comes in a kit or on its own, Same brand as the Fresnel lens.

you can make a slingshot with the surgical tubing
Thanks for all the great videos!
seen this reviewed before but scootch done a great job
I so love Henry Rifles!
the blooper reel is hilarious pretty good video
LOL Thanks goodness you have some of "That" in there! Haha I love the blooper reel!

Great presentation. Henry does make some great equipment. Thanks. atb Opal
great video! what bag were you using at the begging of the video? looks like something I could get some good use out of
This is amazing Kit.
Nice idea for make one for myself.
Nice little kit...
I don't know when you filmed the footage, but I notice the abdominal pad expires next month. It's one of the cheapest and easily replaceable objects in there, so not a big deal.

Sootch, I was wondering what's that bag you were carrying in the beginning of the video? I'm very interested in it.
Good show
Thanks
Great video sootch, gonna get this for my car. I love Henry arms stuff
*Think that's one of the BEST Compact Kit I seen Yet!!!*
_But your right if you could Cook in that tin it would be WAY Better_
Does the Henry survival rifle have a big enough storage in the butstock to store the whole survival kit?
Your watch can be used for signaling also.
Great kit, presentation, and bloopers. Reckon as reckon might reckon then... all the male head of households in my clan will receive one of these as soon as possible. Cool kit.

Great kit and an excellent review
Great video. becoming a big fan of your videos.
Nice video and thanks for showing!
I like Henry stuffThanks
Sootch could you do a video on making snares?
Great review as always.
If the rollers were metal and not rubber, you could cook in it.
I will wait for the next version to emerge.
My question is, could the surgical tubing be used for a slingshot band?
What would you take out to make room for a small folding saw ?
you can get the kutlasted minimaster multitool at the boyscouts of America store in mobile Alabama for $2-$5....I am a former boy scout and know from experience.
Add some aluminum foil to line the tin or to cook in by itself and throw in a strip of jerky or two as room permits.
I would suggest adding a sterling knife sharpener for you kit.
I thought you were in NC Sootch? I'm right on the boarder near Charlotte.
Would you need a coat to survive if we do can you include one in your next survival kit
I also like the Henry Survival Rifle too.
As always, a great video. Don't buy the kit and stash it. Chemlights only store for a couple of years. This is one of the better kits I've seen.
"Standart and metric" as an european i can only smile :)
Really nice setup do they import to germany?
I have say that ten can be use as a cooker if need it you take out all stuff boil water in it cook food it it not only carrier more then 29 item it 30 item you remove the top
its probably that the container is anodized, he states that. not the rubber seal in the lid. that coating might come off.
Hey scootch!! Ever thought of having a fan meet up at a Clemson baseball game or teaching a survival or prepping class? Love to meet you sometime!
What bag were you using in the video? I want to get one. Thanks
Hey, Ive been watching video after video, trying to figure out what brand/ model your watch is. It looks like a tough watch.
*13:10, second thoughts about sticking DT to his arm hair.....MANS' UP! LOL!

Hey sootch do you think I should get a spyderco tenacious or gerber paraframe tanto? Thanks
I can't download this video offline, I like this video, I'm about to show this to my friends in the mountains, no internet available there,
Are you sure thats a Swedish fire steel? That looks like a British BCB Ranger flint & steel.
I googled the kit and could not find any venders any idea what this thing costs?
i had a military kit in a tin like that not sure how old it was tho
what bag is that at 0:09 ?
Thanks a lot Keaton!
