Besides being an awesome ship in its own right, everything about the Bengal screams out "Wing Commander" Tribute. The name references the strike carrier class from the first Wing Commander and the fly through center hangar directly reflects the design of the TCS Victory in Heart of the Tiger. Way to take me back to my teenage years when I was first addicted to the Sci Fi flight sim!!
Executive Officer (XO) is responsible for the cleanliness of the ship. Besides that he is responsible for all the training/drills/personnel readiness... pretty much everything that happens on the ship the XO is ultimately responsible for. On most US ships XO holds a "happy hour" every morning. Everyone bellow a certain rank is supposed to clean the ship.
Well, it got wider only because they needed more room. They lengthened it to keep true to the original concept. So the BMM will likely stay wider than long, but considering how CIG's been increasing the size of pretty much all 4+ people multi crew ships, the BMM is probably getting an upgrade
Alex Yen I wasn't entirely serious... but I kinda feel like the BMM could actually use some sort of stretching. Right now, it can fit the said number of cargo, but it would be straight up stacking the entire cargo section, which means you have no way of sorting stuff around. For a Cargo Hauler that would be OK, but how would you sell stuff to people like this? I also think the BMM's size reflects something Starfarer-ish, but that wouldn't fit the lore of a Ship where the Banu live on. I'd really hope to see it becoming more spacious (think of Idris or Polaris size feeling inside). Not because of any advantages like more cargo or so, I just think it would feel better.
I would be so hyped about this game if they took a re-run at the little things like crash effects. Like making ship/vehicle/plane crash effects look more realistic and awesome. (More dynamic looking, like parts being ripped apart and flying away when crashing/exploding etc. Also: Easy PR/Stuff to show off getting people's attention). Atm they kind of poof/vanish into fire/smoke and thats it.
27POP27 I agree with the fact that ships need to look more dynamic. Its okay for the bigger ships, but with the smaller ships, they just seem to static when you're flying them. I know this may be realistic for space flight, however adding more moving parts to the ships externals would drastically improve the visuals.
Robert Rindik they must have changed something or implemented some future proof stuff like change colors, i also thought that, since they dint have server meshing they just keep procrastinating because the servers and the core technology simply cant handle the load so they need to focus that first. anyways my believe is that javalin bengal the idris have been 95% dont for 1 year already.
What happened to the rear missile launcher that used to be mounted to the underside of the rear fantail of the Idris? Anyone else notice the "EP 1-3" in white letters on the Idris aft port quarter? Guess that's our ship for the first 3 episodes.
Why crew have not pressure suit, it's mysterious thing ^^ We are in space guys !! My Carrack's Captain says : everybody in pressure suit ! No t-shirt. Good video ^^
Yea those ships are pretty much done. But they don't want to spoil anything for the players, which is why they won't be released into the public universe (at least to be flown by players). Squadron 42 is lightyears ahead compared to Star Citizen because 85% of the devs are working on that one.
If you want to see the weapon room of the future for the design of the ships you are working on you should take a look at the Queen Elizabeth class super carriers being built in the U.K. They are the first carriers in the world to have fully automated weapon rooms that handle all the explosives unmanned from start to finish, its why the British carriers can have a by far smaller crew than the American equivalent, they are very automated ships, they might even let use have a look around, they are being built in Rosyth near the forth road bridge.
Idris is a frigate, the original enterprise was a heavy/battle cruiser, so enterprise is probably closer to a javellin. the reliant is probably closer to the idris in TOS/movie era, and closer to a polaris in DS9 era ^^ definitely fun to compare :)
I would imagine in a later iteration of the game they may add pirate modified ships, but for the first installment this i guess would not be a priority.
+Betwixt Acerbus Looked like an American flag at 5:06. And maybe some s. African country? So yeah, just curious about that. Don't look like UPE or UEE flags.
Why is that strange? The UEE is a multinational governing body, you are bound to find people from all walks of life on board of a Bengal, be it US, UK, Russian, African, Japanese, Korean, Danish, et cetera.
DerSektenspinner The UEE may be extranational, it's personnel isn't necessarily, which doesn't make it less strange to see people fly their country's flag.
how upsetting! I stumbled onto this site too late! The Javelin is up for sale one last time at 9am pacific standard time. I have $2,700, but unfortunately I won't be able to to put it in the bank in time to purchase it! :-(::::::::::::::
There are only 3 capital ships? And if the Idris is a frigate, the Javelin is a destroyer, why does it jump to a carrier, Bengal, with nothing in between? Where are the cruisers and the battleships? The ship of the line? Those would all be more impressive capital ships than frigates... unless if in the Star Citizen world frigates and destroyers are considered larger and stronger than ships of the line.
The cruiser and battlecruiser haven't been revealed yet, the Pegasus Escort Carrier is still in whitebox phase, I believe, and from what I understand, the Bengal is both battleship and carrier at the same time.
America did not conquer the world. Nations would still exist in this universe with their own flags and cultures. They would just be under a higher law and military like states in the USA.......oh. Maybe you're right.
Should it be compare it to Greece filled with politicians and a leader Pedro as Battlestar Galactica was before they began new season of Caprica and now we have same cast in Hawaii 5.0. Closest to never closing valve is Passengers mathematical pythagoras example. Are you really alone in the universe or can't it fit a hundred capitals in a same dradis sphere shard. Enterprise is not what you want, but you beg to be sucked in as city escaping from London.
But at some point don't you become your own worse enemy, meaning you keep adding and adding to the point where a deadline for release becomes meaningless. A game I have played for four years had a great update trend untill recently they decided to do a quest where they became there own worst enemy and kept delaying month after month untill almost a year down the line it was finally released, and IMHO was not a year in development worthy.
Fantastic little deconstruction of the Star Wars opening. It's a nice insight into a facet of your design process.
*Talks about the Idris for 80% of the video*
*Finally gets to the Javelin*
"It's gonna take care of itself"
*proceeds to the Bengal*

Daniel Haire There must be a Tiger Claw in the game.
Luc Buydens I would sacrifice 100 ships to save 1 Tiger's Claw.
4:21 Bengal + 3 Idris rendered in one scene... jeez. the way the QD'd in had something very BSG-esque :D
We need more stuff in 4k! These ships really deserve a high resolution to be shown off
Wow, those ships are gorgeous!
Absolutely epic!
I'm a bit speechless
And yet you speak. Scam!
OMG so beautiful!
The vanduul looks like one of the ships of Star Wars
I was completely amazed when I saw those ships.
HOLY MOLY SUCH BEAUTIFUL SHIPS!
Dam, the XO for the Bengal should be fired!!! Look at all that mess...
what mean XO ?
First Officer, who usually takes care of disciplining the crew for the Captain.
Executive Officer (XO) is responsible for the cleanliness of the ship. Besides that he is responsible for all the training/drills/personnel readiness... pretty much everything that happens on the ship the XO is ultimately responsible for.
On most US ships XO holds a "happy hour" every morning. Everyone bellow a certain rank is supposed to clean the ship.
oooh thank you very much !!
Yeah it was hella messy
Shame you guys didn't include the bit at the end of this segment that was on the livestream! With the Idris silhouette flying across the distant sun
Can't wait until the documentary comes out \o/
Nathan Dearsley, I am really excited what you will have in store for the Reclaimer :D.
Thanks for the tour. I hope that there will be another for the alien campaign.
so we are finally going to be able to visit javelin!
Can't wait to be part of the crew on one of these Idris'!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So the Idris got longer because it got wider... what could that mean for the BMM, which is (stat wise) over 1/3 wider than long. :P
Well, it got wider only because they needed more room. They lengthened it to keep true to the original concept. So the BMM will likely stay wider than long, but considering how CIG's been increasing the size of pretty much all 4+ people multi crew ships, the BMM is probably getting an upgrade
Random UA-cam Watcher It used to be 150 m

You called this one well. The Banu Merchantman is now about the size of the Idris.
Anyone has the music version of this? What was shown on the stream!
Was uploaded just some minutes ago on this channel.
They just uploaded it.
I would love to have like a guild on the carrier. :o
then it blows up,along with the whole guild.
I would be so hyped about this game if they took a re-run at the little things like crash effects. Like making ship/vehicle/plane crash effects look more realistic and awesome. It can be fun to tackle one of these ships in space :D
5:50, Captain Miles?
The Idris is still being worked on for a VERY LONG TIME.
Robert Rindik they must have changed something or implemented some future proof stuff like change colors, i also thought that, since they dint have server meshing they just keep procrastinating because the servers and the core technology simply cant handle the load so they need to focus that first. anyways my believe is that javalin bengal the idris have been 95% dont for 1 year already.
well, I am wondering where more updated information on the pegasus is staying... was it dropped? Was any developement going on with it?
PLKarmann I believe they also promised cruisers
I'd really like to know if they pulled inspiration from the Jovian Chronicles.
I love the Bengal, but It looks a big weird when you have metal poles on the ship's engines
Video is unlisted. Might wanna go public :)
I can understand the idea why they try to do the floors not to narrow. But I would love to see a ship that has more the feeling of a submarine.
The Retaliator is basically what you're looking for.
Chris Hoesel Yeah, you're right. The Bomber seems to be the right. And this now slightly bigger size with more crew :)
its just amazing...
What happened to the rear missile launcher that used to be mounted to the underside of the rear fantail of the Idris? Anyone else notice the "EP 1-3" in white letters on the Idris aft port quarter? Guess that's our ship for the first 3 episodes.
I'm not sure why they'd write that onto the ship tho.
Im so excited about this game! :D
Why crew have not pressure suit, it's mysterious thing ^^
We are in space guys !!
My Carrack's Captain says : everybody in pressure suit ! No t-shirt.
Good video ^^
Because the ship has an atmosphere?
*****
Yes and space is totally safe, no threat, no shooting holes in the ship. No destroying pressure sas ^^'
One would guess that they would put on pressure suits as part of going to General Quarters, just as RL naval crews put on anti-flash gear.
a m a z i n g
! ! !
just popped up on my youtube feed from 3 years ago: "We've got one room left to complete"....what?
Yea those ships are pretty much done. But they don't want to spoil anything for the players, which is why they won't be released into the public universe (at least to be flown by players). Squadron 42 is lightyears ahead compared to Star Citizen because 85% of the devs are working on that one.
So when can we see 2.6 and 3.0 coming out? Very hyped right now.
According to letter from the chairman in december but that is a aim date not a fixed one.
robertsspaceindustries.com/schedule-report
japkap Oh cool, so it might release very soon.
They are planning on releasing on December 8th, as can be seen here --> robertsspaceindustries.com/schedule-report
MoonWalker 😂😂😂
I do like the Oydris.

Ok i was thinking i wanted a Javelin but now i want a Bengal
Could we get an update on these ships? :(
WOW!
Recommendationners, assemble!
10 pixel siluete to recognize friendly ship - I would liek to see example :D
I want the Polaris 😭
Ryann Da Silva I want the Bagel Carrier...
Just melted mine and bought an Idris.
This reminds me of Halo Pillar of Autumn
my gawd
I'm imagining the Idris is the "U.S.S. Enterprise" of the SC universe.
Idris is a frigate, the original enterprise was a heavy/battle cruiser, so enterprise is probably closer to a javellin.
the reliant is probably closer to the idris in TOS/movie era, and closer to a polaris in DS9 era ^^
definitely fun to compare :)
I didn't know Keanu had a brother in England...
Did he say the FoV is 60° ?? Oh god please no... 2:55
you should make a capital ship for the pirates
i don't really see pirates having massive space docks or an infrastructure to build anything :D
Yeah but it would be cool
And why are we gonna lve those pirate players out
I would imagine in a later iteration of the game they may add pirate modified ships, but for the first installment this i guess would not be a priority.
Imagine it a planet owned by a massive pirate crew which capital ship
"just one room to go lol"
5:06 I thought nations weren't a thing anymore in SC?
Washable Burrito The UEE(United Earth Empire) is kinda like the UN
+Betwixt Acerbus Looked like an American flag at 5:06. And maybe some s. African country?
So yeah, just curious about that.
Don't look like UPE or UEE flags.
Well the single states of an entire country also have their own flags, they wouldn't just completely disappear
4:22 holly cr@p, look a the size of those guns. they are the size of an Idris...
please tell me you can drive this thing
5:06 US flag?
yeah, that's strange!
Why is that strange?
The UEE is a multinational governing body, you are bound to find people from all walks of life on board of a Bengal,
be it US, UK, Russian, African, Japanese, Korean, Danish, et cetera.
LawlFakers
When I am thinking Star Citizen/UEE I think extra national, but that can be just me...
DerSektenspinner
The UEE may be extranational, it's personnel isn't necessarily, which doesn't make it less strange to see people fly their country's flag.
There's a lot of flags and old pictures on the wall, it looks like a "homage" to the past.
After all it is the UEE. United Empire of Earth.
as long as I can crash land those puppies i will be happy.
TZUGARIS that would be a massive waste of resources
Betwixt Acerbus i do noT CaRE
Some people just want to see the worlds burn :)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
that last room to finish sure must be time consuming.....
wouldnt make sense to have any kind of capital ship till server meshing is in.... but they need to hurry tf up lol
i-dris not id-ris ?
Nobody knows, lol.
3:05 Please don't learn from Call of Duty...
Call of Duty is really successful for a reason.
The most successful FPS game ever made? ok.
As much as I hate COD, their map designs are really good.
It's funny because the size of these ships are bigger than CoD maps.
Not the Idris. Only the Bengal and _maybe_ the Javelin
Em92 u talking about single player or multiplayer design? Some are good, and some are bad
I have a dream that I might have org where a Bengal is our home. Join me if you share that dream.
the only thing about this game you need to buy ships and they cost a lot of money
No, you can earn all ships ingame, but the capital ships are more for organizations (guilds).
if you go on the website the ships cost a lot money
Yes, because its still in the crowdfunding stage.
I speak from after the release of the game.
how upsetting! I stumbled onto this site too late! The Javelin is up for sale one last time at 9am pacific standard time. I have $2,700, but unfortunately I won't be able to to put it in the bank in time to purchase it! :-(::::::::::::::
These guns make my gun wet.
I love how the carrier needs a run way in space hahaha. wasted space.
Not exactly. Makes it easier to be able to fly in and land at high speed in an emergency. Like in Battlestar Galactica.
There are only 3 capital ships? And if the Idris is a frigate, the Javelin is a destroyer, why does it jump to a carrier, Bengal, with nothing in between? Where are the cruisers and the battleships? Some capital are still in development.
There are still bigger ships than the carrier.
there is even the Retribution, which will be bigger than the bengal, but no possibilities to fly it IIRC.
5:08, America wins. Get used to it Not-America! USA! USA! USA!
America did not conquer the world. Nations would still exist in this universe with their own flags and cultures. They would just be under a higher law and military like states in the USA.......oh. Maybe you're right.
there is no USA in the new world order.
just earth. and some ritch white ppl wo lead it.
Evirthewarrior there is another flag next to it from a different country
la bandera USA? en serio?PUAJJJJJJ!
Should it be compare it to Greece filled with politicians and a leader Pedro as Battlestar Galactica was before they began new season of Caprica and now we have same cast in Hawaii 5.0.
