  • @user-oo6qk2fj9h
    @user-oo6qk2fj9h 2 роки тому +41

    This idea isn’t that revolutionary and neither is the three step system. The energy required to make decent quality fuel from plastic takes more money then extracting and refining crude oil. By doing this in three steps, the product quality becomes much worse and you can clearly see residue suspended into the fuel products that are extracted out. The dirty fuel that’s produced from this project isn’t that useful in the long run even it it’s cheaper because it will foul up and destroy engines that are run with it which would increase the costs for the consumer in the long term.

    • @tronixfix
      @tronixfix 2 роки тому +6

      Not only that but it's an extract... so you need to burn 20 tons of plastic to get not even 1 ton of fuel. Imagine the pollution that it creates from leftover plastic ash and heavy oil that need to be dumped.

    It is not new technology. Canadian company is doing that since 2019 or even before that. There is a video on youtube about it. Its Toronto based. Its called Phoenix, and comes from Sparta Group. Same technology - pyrolysis. 5 tons of plastic turned into 4 tons of fuel. It does not change emissions, but gets rid of plastic. So when you burn it it produces same amount of CO2 and warms the climate.

    Why you are not using PET and PVC?

    • @quintaeco
      @quintaeco 2 роки тому +1

      PET pyrolysis is clean and the yield is not as high but does clean the oceans, both the Chinese and India use a crude version of the plastic process with byproducts that are dangerous to people and potentially the environment. The biggest issue is PET plastic with rivers, lakes, and oceans full of it.
