All this sounds great BUT it is hard not to be skeptical given the recent drama with other "studios"... I really hope they smash this one out of the park
MFG is an actual studio with an actual reputation, those other guys were a bunch of punk asses that were simply out to take advantage of people as well as the companies that supported them due to being lead to believe they actually had a real game, but only ever showed video clips of "what it might be like" vice actual alpha footage. It's interesting how people are trusting this because of half a dozen scripted videos. I'm blacklisting this youtuber because people should not join the hype train of something that doesn't even have real gameplay available.
I just imagine a night ops with one friend maybe, night vision and recon the other FOB and reporting back, all while slowly moving through a thick jungle maybe during bad weather, taking an hour to get to the location and moving back from it after recon. All while moving up into the mountains and eating some food to survive till the morning. But more dramatic than I just said.
Yes. Most games lack the mature players who actually enjoy this type of recon. The vast majority of time spent without firing a single shot, but communicating with your team and being able to mark up maps with valuable information.
Yes! It sounds so cool going through the whole slow paced planning, infil, scouting, mission, and exfil loop. Tarkov can never really get there for me becuase of the Raid mechanic.
I think the mechanical skill test to grant game skills concept is such an interesting one that I'm surprised isn't being used more. Obviously, this heavily rewards people who are already good at games, but grinding out the skill to take the certification (recoil control, for example) will actually improve your abilities as a new player through practice instead of just being something that your player character exclusively gets.
Yeah I'd never actually thought of doing things that way before. I can see why it could be problematic for some people but it's innovative to say the least.
Thanks for the deep dive info on GZW! Also very nice quick brief reminder about the sub thing I didn’t know I wasn’t subbed already lol. Keep it up man I can only see you growing from here on out! Never stay complacent keep on trucking!
Let’s go! That answered my question on Twitter about dynamic AI! Sounds a lot like what I love about the AI in stalkers A-Life! Thank you very much for this video! Shared with all the homies!
When the first mention of the games director is someone who is an expert on AI, my excitement just shot up to the stratosphere as I went; “Yes! this guy fucking gets it!” This guy definitely wants to create his own A-LIFE system. The fact that NPCs have their own tasks and goals that they seek out to accomplish, basically is stalker AI. What’s more is that if it’s anything like the AI of the zone in stalker then any little interference we do as we insert and extract will have a butterfly effect the next time we go in. You literally cannot anticipate the same thing happening over again due to chaos theory. That was a huge problem with EFT, AI would just wander around aimlessly without any self preservation or their own goals to accomplish. It was all pretty much an illusion of autonomy. This games creator, however, truly understands that when you make AI with the same abilities and goals as human players in the game it essentially becomes a single player MMO and everything about it becomes way more fun.
Glad they seem to be well informed on some of the potential pitfalls of the genre and similar games. One of BSGs greatest weakness is their aversion to looking at the successes and failures of other games to make a better product.
@@riloegaming I agree it's a strength that has led them to success true. However it's also been to their detriment seeing all the issues they continuously run into. The unique nature of their vision will lose its novelty soon when more games like Grey Zone come out as others with start to improve on the the genre by fixing their mistakes. Similar to what happened when Fortnite Battle Royale came out and surpassed PUBG.
@riloegaming I can agree with that. I feel the game will never hit full release. I have played since 2020. A lot of the same bugs, server issues, etc, are still in the game to this day. I think at some point Nikita will just move on, and the game will be left in whatever state it's in.
ooooh your video just dropped in the perfect time my man xD .. and after every video that you have done so far about this game my excitement about it just increases every time .... thank you for your efforts
This looks incredible. With so much lore for gun-play, blade tactics and blunt objects as weapons always takes a huge backseat in shooters. Would love to see the addition of various blades, knives, or other blunt objects as weapons in a survival game of this caliber.
This is certainly not a survival game in a general sense, in line with something like DayZ. It’s honestly really hard to pin it down to a category, but they describe it as a hardcore tactical shooter with a focus on realism
i love this guy. very informative, easy voice to listen to, well spoken, and kind sounding. simple editing but its done in a very good way which allows the content to speak for itself. i think ur gonna grow v fast my friend.
As far as telling who’s who’s, there’s the lovely thing called a “blue force tracker” it basically tells you where your friendly forces are at all times. Just a thought for friendliest. It’s not a bud element and it could easily be added to the gps function. Another thing that I think would be a good idea is a faction radio. For instance if you see some pmcs running around in a location you could hop on the radio and ask your faction if anyone is in the area. This would be another great way to help tell friend from foe. Amazing video mate, definitely subscribing 🫡
This looks so amazing. I genuinely hope it turns out how Mara envisions. It looks like the best parts all combined of my favorite games for the last 10 years
The kicking mechanic sounds incredibly layered and intricate, and it totally feeds back into that "Actions have consequences" mechanic. If your buddy shoots a fellow PMC and you kick him from the faction, it's not like they dissapear from the game. Now they're running amuck and ruining everyone's day... and you have to suffer the consequences. Super cool idea.
subscribing because my birthday is also may, love the greyzone content you do a good job of presenting information without over hyping it like most people. keep it up man

Awesome video again Riloe, great use of specific soundtracks from a classic from 2010 ;) Already at 40k subs at the time of writing, Keep it up. Salute
Another smart edition for those who want a deathmatch would be a combat/pvp certification that you can complete in a PVE server. To test your PVP chops before jumping onto a real pvp server, and it would contribute towards your pve skills as well
I saw very nice detail at 21:43. The tactical (battle) belt - because Custom gear is actually real small Czech company that made tactical gear and that belt is its real product MC50 LASER EDITION. :) It is very nice to see real products in games.

Ok, the video chapters should be there now! I hope this helps people navigate if they want to come back and find a specific piece of info. Hope you enjoy my breakdown of the interview! Reminder - MANY of the things I talk about here aren't going to be part of the early access release, or are literally just purely conceptual right now. That doesn't mean we can't be interested or excited about that stuff, but it's important to gauge our expectations. I thought it would be better to give an overall visual of what the game is intended to be in its final form, to help people grasp WHAT the game is. *edit: there’s a MAJOR editing mistake in the video. Can you find it? 😅😅😅 Cheers! Riloe
I thought I was subbed wasn’t but looking forward to the updates the fact that you said you aren’t affiliated didn’t show spoilers shows how honest you are about this game man looking forward to potential gameplay and more
Maybe some more information on the actual EARLY ACCESS GAMEPLAY would give gamers move of an incentive to be excited about the game? Hard to get excited about a game I'm still not entirely sure feels fun to play. Would have thought there would genuinely more actual game play footage than concepts and speculations, given the game is coming out later this year. Hell, im pretty sure BSG released quite a bit of Pre-alpha footage prior to release, and IMO it generated a lot of hype for the game.
This sounds awesome. Honestly i was not expecting GZW to have so much depth, but i am very surprised. There seems to be a lot of stuff that will make the gameplay more interesting, sounds a bit less hardcore than EFT, but still challanging. Dont want to compare it to EFT, but truth be told so far i like the GZW mechanics more. Cant wait to play it and check them out myself. The most fun aspect i find so far is the open world/sandbox thing, and NO TIMER. Will allow for a way better tactical experience to actually plan what you intend to do. I see this game more like Ghost Recon Wildlands/Breakpoint but way more realistic.
This is exactly what I was thinking. If EFT and Ghost Recon Wildlands had a digital baby. EFT is amazing but sometimes you need to take a break and play something less stressful. GRW is too arcade for me to enjoy but I love the beautiful scenery. A combination of both is a winner for me. Phillip.
@@philliptemple9841 Exactly. Same here. In EFT when playing PMC you have to be focused 100%. I play solo, so its even more tiresome and you are always on the clock. Then in GRW its way too arcade and i just get bored real quick. The only other open world (kinda) and sandbox experience i can think of is Stalker Anomaly on different modpacks (GAMMA or Escape from Prypiat) its SP, but still hardcore and you can die easly due to mutants, anomalies or other stalkers, but is way more paced and allows for actually planning your approach. The only thing missing is the co-op/multiplayer experience. And this is where GZW comes in, i think it will fulfill a lot of checkboxes. Especially when playing with buddies or I dare to say, randoms (which i avoid like hell in EFT, i got even VOIP disabled), it should be a way cooler experience. And of course visuals, always liked playing in the jungle.
As a fellow May baby you have my sub for support. Loving the long content, seen you around for a few months now because of your tarkov shorts. Really excited for GZW, maybe eventually we'll have offline support for when the servers eventually do have to be shut down.
Incredible video honestly about the game. I am happy the developers actually listen to the community, an incredibly rare site to see. These people seem like good people and I hope that this game becomes successful.
This is one of those games that actually has some love put into them, it seems like! I'm incredibly excited about this game as I'm sure everyone here also is. But I have a question: How will the game deal with teaming? I know that the most realistic experience would allow this but in terms of fun and the game being fair there should be some limitations to this; this can be really hard, but there should be a system that detects if you're teaming to get a purely competitive advantage and maybe killing them after teaming. Like if the game detects you're teaming and then shooting them for loot you should lose some karma, or you get some disadvantage for teaming? And if your whole team is KIA maybe you should be allowed to "join" another team but get some disadvantages or something. I really hope this game doesn't fail and MadFinger keeps updating it! (I think they will based on your interview and engagement of the development).
I would argue that a game like this is better served with constant tension. Pve is neat, but it takes away from the overall tone of the game. Knowing there is another human behind a suspected PMC seen in the distance changes up the dynamics of the entire encounter. AI simply doesn't have that variety and random factor.
@@Agc2749 While it is true that a player will add randomness, due to the nature of the game, you'd have trigger happy and troll players in the mix too which sometimes are infuriating to deal with. As for changing the dynamics of an entire encounter... probably not really. If you were planning on shooting them anyway, the difference between a player and a bot wouldn't really matter. You're unlikely to just suddenly not shoot at them just because they are a player.
@@Agc2749 I would argue that a game where your only fear is a cheater in lobby does not add anything to gameplay at all. But that is why you have PVP server for you and PVE for me 😉
your long form videos are super well edited and incredibly engaging. you speak clearly and smoothly. your content is great in my opinion. thank you for keeping us updated on this game. ive been excited about it for months
I think having specific camouflage patterns for each PMC faction will be a great way for identification. But identifying the Rogue PMC should be kept as a mystery always.
I have a question that I hope for you to ask the devs relating to AI and foliage. The thing I hate the very most in Tarkov, is getting laser beamed by AI shooting me through dense foliage when they should not be able to see me as I can’t see them. How will Greyzone handle AI and their ability to “see” players?
They actually nerfed that a while back and made it harder for ai to see you through trees and bushes, it was actually a noticeable change when it was added
I'm speculating an idea here on how PMCs can prevent friendly fire incidents, people can check a list inside their FOB where they can find who is within the zone at the moment, with the name, inventory, place where they got inserted into, and more importantly time, and it would also be faction specific, meaning Crimson Shield can't figure out who is also inside the zone right now from the team, it guides them but doesn't exactly hold their hand.

Can't wait ...BUT...They must make sure this game is super robust from cheating!! The players that will play this will be mainly serious and won't stick around for long with cheats! It needs detection on a zero kernel level and player verification registration as a minimum!! The players who will take this game on...would in the most part be happy with that! Please please don't screw this up x
@@senilestix It will be fine even without great anti cheat, as it's a PvE focused game and will have PvE servers for those who don't want to PvEvP and whatever that comes with "aka cheats". I doubt this game will have Kernel level Anti cheat as that is intrusive as fuck and not even guaranteed to function.
Given your short time doing this your quality is insane. I’m guilty of watching a UA-camr for quite a while before I sub. You got mine in three videos. Keep up the awesome work.
Really enjoying the transparency from this studio, both in cases for and against certain ideas. It's when a studio doesn't explain their concerns and just does what they think is right without addressing feedback (be it valid or not) that a community just sours and you get a lot of toxic elements. It's always good to hear why something wouldn't work, understanding is key. Also good to hear there is some experience with WoW because I felt immediate concern about faction imbalance. In short WoW has 2 but the balance in populations started heavily skewing towards one side years ago and has never recovered, this has complicated filling up groups on the lower pop faction for over a decade. Something that has only recently seen a solution in allowing cross faction grouping. So I'm interested how these factions and their population balance will work out in the future.
You articulate your self very well, and the content and information in the videos is very high quality. You deserve your subs. Keep up the great work and thank you for laying this out like you do🤙
o7 Can't wait to see you all on this digital field when it launches. I love that aspect of "Be ready but be cautious" kind of thinking. I used to play a lot of Stalker and honestly, in my heart, this sounds like an open world Stalker. I know it's not, but what I mean is that it's an open world sandbox game where your actions actually carry meaning and weight through it's game world. You can't just slaughter NPCS thoughtlessly or shoot at every single thing that moves. You have to *think* first. THAT is what I love in games. THAT'S what I find engaging.

After all, just let them cook, maybe they can think of something we don’t even aware of
I've been following for the last few months and honestly you are doing amazing. I'm instantly hooked to the video and want to finish it, your doing this UA-cam shit right!!
Hey, thank you so much!
Waht is name the Game,?
Love the timestamps!! Most people I watch that give info like this don't do timestamps so thank you!
🫡
Super in-depth review and easy to follow. As a new mil-sim enthusiast, love and appreciate your content. New sub!
Let's keep our fingers crossed and give them the benefit of the doubt to deliver on this!
yeah, and we also know that experienced deaths are actually working on this.
not like the other game where apparently the majority of workers were unpaid volunteers and shit lmao @@xxnemesisgamingxx6933
The Day Before or whatever it was called was a clear scam when it got announced years ago. I can’t believe anyone actually fell for that shit. Sure be skeptical but that example still boggles my mind
@@SteelxWolfikr, it was way too good to be true and it was coming from an studio that no one has ever heard before and tried to do much more than like 3 AAA games combines, it was sus af and gamers being dumbasses as always fell for it.
When the first mention of the games director is someone who is an expert on AI, my excitement just shot up to the stratosphere as I went; “Yes! this guy fucking gets it!”
This guy definitely wants to create his own A-LIFE system.
This idea sounds great especially with weather night and day (and if there is a day and night cycle)
Glad they seem to be well informed on some of the potential pitfalls of the genre and similar games. One of BSGs greatest weakness is their aversion to looking at the successes and failures of other games to make a better product.
For real man. BSG are the most braindead devs I have ever seen.
Idk, BSG carve their own path and continuously succeed where others simply don't. I think if anything their greatest strength is not being followers.
Love the videos Riloe! Can't wait for you to explore the jungles of Lamang!
Me neither! Cheers
ooooh your video just dropped in the perfect time my man xD .. and after every video that you have done so far about this game my excitement about it just increases every time .... thank you for your efforts
It looks like the best parts all combined of my favorite games for the last 10 years
How creators should go about things!! Honest, Cup half full vibe!! A legend in the making! 🖖*Salute*

It's always nice when there is an options for pve or pvp servers
The kicking mechanic sounds incredibly layered and intricate, and it totally feeds back into that "Actions have consequences" mechanic. If your buddy shoots a fellow PMC and you kick him from the faction, it's not like they dissapear from the game. Now they're running amuck and ruining everyone's day... and you have to suffer the consequences. Super cool idea.
Yeah I hope to see it fully realized in the future, it's one of the more unique aspects to this game.
subscribing because my birthday is also may, love the greyzone content you do a good job of presenting information without over hyping it like most people. keep it up man
happy birthday in may!
Great video. Nice to see you got your Birthday gift early. Liked and Subbed
PS.. I'm a Tarkov main and I can see me playing both for different reasons. Not the same games
@@kylemcdougall8542 Same!
Very clear, precise video with well balanced audio, thank you for making it 🫡
LOL I appreciate that you think the audio sounds ok!
I love how transparent the Dev is and he is A real active gamer in the games he is comparing to his own. Went to sub and realized I already was lol😅 cheers brother great video.
High hopes for this one! Looking forward to seeing everyone in the QZ
Awesome video again Riloe, great use of specific soundtracks from a classic from 2010 ;)
Already at 40k subs at the time of writing, Keep it up.

Great video too btw! Very informative and well put together, editing was great, and you did a good job at not dragging out any topic. Kept me captivated all 36:57
love your edits to the videos you do! Thanks for the content, salute 🫡
o7. Thanks for the great information. These guys seem like a great dev group, and for such a small team, they have some great ideas. That Skalla tech seems awesome and it could potentially become the new industry standard if they get it fully realized. I am excited as hell for this game!
I don’t know how that was timed soo perfectly, “Anti-cheat, there isn’t any” Ad pops up 😂😂 love the video man. Subscribed
LOL
Dude i absolutely LOVED this video! Thank you for snagging that interview!
Great content, keep it up and your channel will grow naturally.
Ok, this is absolutely on my radar now
Appreciate the solid update! Keep killing these vids and hopefully, I'll meet you in "The zone" one day!
Thanks for the breakdown
Man I'm more and more excited about this the more I learn about its process and plans, Saluuute!
Great video. Subscribed
So essentially this is Tarkov and Arma baby spiced up with some Nam experience...
Subbed, awesome video, I salute your effort in making this. I think the focus on the development team and their passion and background are so important. They have a great leader and I'm hyped for whats to come.
Cheers!
Riloe
You make great videos!
Love your content. Very inspiring 👏
I thought I was subbed wasn’t but looking forward to the updates the fact that you said you aren’t affiliated didn’t show spoilers shows how honest you are about this game man looking forward to potential gameplay and more
Oh and 🫡
Maybe some more information on the actual EARLY ACCESS GAMEPLAY would give gamers move of an incentive to be excited about the game? Hard to get excited about a game I'm still not entirely sure feels fun to play. Would have thought there would genuinely more actual game play footage than concepts and speculations, given the game is coming out later this year. Hell, im pretty sure BSG released quite a bit of Pre-alpha footage prior to release, and IMO it generated a lot of hype for the game.
You are the pinnacle of game breakdowns. No questions left except speculations so I thank you for all this concise info.
And of course visuals, always liked playing in the jungle.
dude it's insane you're new, you feel very established and professional like you've been around for years. Keep up the amazing work
As a fellow May baby you have my sub for support.
Always love watching your videos. Honestly didn't know I wasn't subbed until you did the percent thing
Hahaha no worries!
I am so happy to hear that there will be NON PVP servers. Finally a game which has serious tone and you can chill out with friends.
Riloe was indeed gaming in this one!
I think having specific camouflage patterns for each PMC faction will be a great way for identification. But identifying the Rogue PMC should be kept as a mystery always.
Maybe down the line they will have unique cosmetics, but PMCs don't usually wear uniforms
riloe, do not stop. rare hidden gem of a youtuber. so genuine, so concise and helpful, goodjob man
Riloe, great work. You're becoming one of my favorrite creators.
Happy to subscribe Riloe. Great content and looking forward to more videos from you. Keep up the great work. I SALUTE you sir.
I bought a 4090 a week ago to get ready for this game! you have NO idea how excited I am
Your passion is infectious. The game has some really good design direction. I really hope they can pull off such an ambitious project
I can't wait in the near future to buy this game. I was always fascinated with PMCs.
after seeing this im with you i hope this is good, this video made me eager im ready i want to play rn lol
Make sure to check out the most recent details and footage of GZW, including behind the scenes insight from the ex-SOF operator doing the animation capture for the game!

Have been watching your tarkov shorts for a while now bud, you've hit 50k easily already. Good work.
🫡
@@senilestix It will be fine even without great anti cheat, as it's a PvE focused game and will have PvE servers for those who don't want to PvEvP and whatever that comes with "aka cheats". I doubt this game will have Kernel level Anti cheat as that is intrusive as fuck and not even guaranteed to function.
i wish them all the success, this is literally what we wanted with ghost recon wildlands.
Given your short time doing this your quality is insane. I’m guilty of watching a UA-camr for quite a while before I sub. You got mine in three videos. Keep up the awesome work.
Thank you so much!
Let's be real here: It's not tarkov, it's better.
By a galaxy
We salute the day!
You articulate your self very well, and the content and information in the videos is very high quality. You deserve your subs. Keep up the great work and thank you for laying this out like you do🤙

Can't wait to see you all on this digital field when it launches.
I mean... while it TECHNICALLY isn't stalker, it's based on the same book. So it kind of IS open world stalker.
I’ve seen you’re TikTok’s both on tarkov and this game and this is your first video recommended to me. I was curious about this game but after watching this video I’m all in to see what this studio can deliver. This style game reminds me a little bit of the dark zone from the division but more of a “tarkov” feel which I should def enjoy .
Bro u got me on “there will be no anti cheat” 😂 my heart literally stopped for few seconds lol
I'm excited for the game and all your upcoming content! Thank you!
Thanks so much for taking the time to put this video together! It was so informative, and it got me super pumped for GZW's release (somehow even more than I already was). You more than earned a new sub from me, as well as a 🫡. Looking forward to, not only the game, but your next video!
Thank you!
I love how you can make an 30+ minutes video entertaining like this. Great job! I'm very enthusiastic to be able to play this game, can't wait wait for the EA!
