  • Hopefully this one will work ok, very difficult to film ... Part 3 shows how to position speakers and fine tune them. The music sequences are possibly the funniest thing I've done so far... apologies to Benny Hill

    You have to have a pretty big livingroom to get the right sound from the speaker!

    In my listening room, I am finding that the ideal placement positions are the same or very similar, regardless of the make and model of speakers being used. Do you concur with this, or are you having to rediscover the sweet spots for every new pair you introduce to your dem rooms? By the way, Thomas Dolby’s ‘A Map Of The Floating City’ has some great songs and lovely recordings on it too, if you haven’t already checked that out.

    So enjoying your videos- just wish you were closer! Wondering if you have any experience/ thoughts on loudspeaker isolation? For some time now I've not used floor spikes feeling that the sound is more organic and natural without them. I know...heresy! But now Townshend and IsoAcoustics both make isolating platforms following a different line of thinking to spikes. Definitely worth considering in principle, if not (very expensive!) practice.

      It’s all about controlling the resonance... spikes make the speaker rigid to stop any contra vibration, but can excite the floor too much, things like the Townshend bars isolate them completely and stop any two way low frequency noise... they are very very good... but as you say, expensive. I have a pair here

    Have you watched New Record Day's video LOTS? He has a very specific method to determine loudspeaker placement and I tried it to great effect.

    I'm also eyeing on the exposure 3510. How much improvement do you think 3510 have over 2510?

    • @cheshireaudio
      @cheshireaudio  2 роки тому

      It justifies the price difference, theres a lot more dynamic scale from the 3510....

    Hi sir a couple of questions No 1 would you ever consider placing the equipment between the speakers so reducing the length of the speaker cables and No 2 do you keep a record of the placement of a particular speaker so as to save you all that work when you demo another type of speaker 😂 great stuff as always . Best wishes and kind regards. 👍👍👍

    • @cheshireaudio
      @cheshireaudio  2 роки тому

      Generally I find that keeping the space between the speakers free improves things more than the extra cable degrades .... I don't actually keep a record of position, but I'm pretty familiar with most designs now so I only need to fine tune a little..... thanks again Michael. Incidentally, your requirement for a headphone socket on a certain amp is going to be addressed on the new version due at the end of the year .... though I'm not supposed to say :-)
