Andrew. I'm actually IN the national kings guard of norway, Music and drill team At The Moment. And what we do and New Guard do is Not the same. they are fewer and has a much bigger risk in theire drills, but sure our knives are real and all that:) While they where in Norway for only a month ago, they surely proved that they deserves to be among the worlds best drillteams.
Ok...ok...im hooked! I didnt really know anything about the Marine Drill Guard till I saw the opening credits for "A Few Good Men" and that shit blew me away! And to see NGA...Damn! And I thought we Army Combat Medics were crazy! LOL!
As a Norwegian and former member of His Majesty the Kings Guard of Norway I have to say I'm sorry that so many norwegians don't get the fact that HMKG and NGA can't be compared:p HMKG are world class precision drillers and you guys in NGA are world class exhibition drillers. As to the M1903-A3's they are awesome drillrifles and are better to drill with then the M1 HMKG use. I have both, and for exhibition drill nothing beats it! Hope you and the rest of NGA had a nice stay in Norway!
Hey Andrew, When you say"An are shanges every year" I am assuming that you are on HNKG. If so you guys are great. Now yes the rifles NGA drills with do no fire, they are real 1903a3 Springfields. And the 03 is one of the most used drill rifles of all time. In the us they are not reallu thought of as "toys".
@BLACKOPSDRILL As a former member of the team, I believe they weighed around 9.14oz. We weighed one of the rifles before the 2007 Pro-America Drill Competition.
I have an instructor that was in the Old Guard.
He would easily say these guys were 50x crazier than anyone he's met.

I stay pretty loyal the kings guard style drill and my old schools style drill, butthe guys in the vids are nuts, props.
