I was Constantine's squad leader when he was a Recruit At Training (RAT) at New Mexico Military Institute. He used to practice all of the time. He was an ROTC contract cadet but I do not know if he was ever commissioned. He was a in a car accident before he got to NMMI that injured his neck. I wanted to contact him but he had already passed away. Constantine is an example of a person that had a passion and he pursued it.
I had the distinct honor of spending a few days with both Constantine, and Abraham, while performing at the 2009 Netherlands National Tattoo. I was taken with their focus and precision. They were absolutely brilliant, and had the crowd from the beginning of their performance, to the end, every day of the event. Offstage, they were kind, fun, and had some amazing stories. I will always remember having the pleasure of their company, and the knowledge that I was fortunate to spend some time with them. Constantine, you were a force to be reckoned with, and you left us far too early.
CHW has without a doubt left the greatest influence on exhibition drill seen to date. With decades of contributions to the art, he has never failed to bring something new to the table year after year. New Guard America, arguably the most professional drill team in the world, even compared to professional military drill teams, is a product of his hard work and extreme passion for our art. He was optimistic, humble, and led a positive life that touched the entire drill community. It seems like only yesterday I heard of his passing, and now it's been a whole year. Heroes get remembered, but legends never die. Maybe he has the best drill teams on heaven and earth now. Rest easy.
Yooo, I just saw this guy last week for the first time and dedicated my time to learn some of his moves, just to find out that he passed is crazy and disheartening...R.I.P.
He was in his 50’s so yeah pretty young.. I’m not sure what from but I can find out. I’m really close friends with his sons, Xylan and Nathaniel. Actually funny thing they go to school with me and are in JROTC with me. I taught them both exhibition. His wife is also the nicest lady ever. She makes like the best sandwiches ever.
