I think Theon has had one of the greatest character arcs in the show. I really enjoyed his arc!
I think Theon has the most well-rounded arc in TV history, maybe. Alfie Allen killed this role.

I will state this. I never had many real issues with the outcomes of the final seasons, just that they rushed it all because the show runners wanted to move on. If they had given most of the choices more time to breath and play out, i think it would have come off much better.
I agree completely. Just imagine you are missing set-up episodes between 3 and 4, 4 and 5, and a couple between 5 and 6
They still would be the wrong choices, but it would have been a lot easier to process. And the plot holes wouldn't jump out so jarringly.
@@Nightmarigny Yeah, dragging this out longer wouldn't solve the fundamental character problems, nor the complete betrayal of the premise of the show from the start.
Especially when it comes to Deanerys' mad quuen arc. I actually wanted and expected her arc to go that way, but the execution was just SO ass - it's barely explained or explored, she just randomly snaps after winning.
Some choices would still now make sense with proper development. Arya killing the Night King, Jaime "not caring fo rthe innocent" and going back to Cersei etc.

This episode is so emotional: Brienne being knighted, Sam talking to Jorah, Pod's song, Jon and Dany talking in the crypt. The next episode has some emotional scenes as well. All in all, while season 8 is the worst season, it has its moments.

@@Richardwho-vv5bhi don’t know what to tell you, but the internet didn’t break because of how epic it was😅 the internet broke because the battle tactics were so stupid, people could hardly see anything and Arya killing the night king was a decision made only to subvert expectations. Don’t know if you were reading what people were saying when the episode aired, but i remember very clearly no one said it was epic or amazing 😂 it was all criticism back then and it still is

Here are some tips for adjusting the brightness settings for Game of Thrones:

Freeze on a dark scene: Then, go into the picture settings and slowly increase the brightness. This will help you see more detail in the shadows without losing contrast.
Reduce the contrast ratio: This can make dark scenes easier to see. However, balance this with the brightness changes.

Adjust the gamma: This can work well too.
Or just watch it as it was intended. Personally, I loved the dark setting. Viewers really get a sense of how it would be to wait for/fight an enemy when you can't look further than a meter or so.

2:33 This scene (like most of the studio shots of Game of Thrones) was shot in Titanic studios. Which is about a two minute walk away from the slipway where the actual Titanic was built. The main soundstage building was formerly a paint hall of the Harland and Wolff shipyard. It's likely an intentional homage.

Sansa, the smartest person Arya has ever met, somehow wants Daenerys to let the north be independent. Isn't Jon the one in charge of the north? Doesn't she like... Have absolutely no say about that matter at all? But right, piss of the one queen that doesn't want your head on a spike xD
Daenerys is always telling "I just want to break the wheel. I just want to punish the ones that murdered my family and took the throne from them. I'll be a different ruler". So Sansa askes about the North to see Daenys reaction to her question. Is she open to negotiations? Could she consider letting Jon be King in the North or does she want the whole power for herself? Daenys reactions tell her exactly how Daeny feels deep down - it is all about the power and the throne. She wants it all. Sansa wanted to get a feel of Daenerys' intentions and she got exactly that.
Notice how everybody who just slightly questions Daenerys and her intentions gets shamed from the viewers? But those are legitimite questions to ask. What about the North? What about the homeland they live in? What will be after NightKing/Cersei are defeated? Those are all questions that Jon should be asking Daenerys as well, not just bend the knee and follow her like a lovesick puppy...
And why does everone always forget Sansa's own words? She says she learned a great deal from Cersei. And what was the main thing about Cersei? Family comes first, always. And to never trust anybody outside your family. Cersei might be evil but those are valid lessions to learn in a wold like Game of Thrones.

Second of all, I'm not Team Dany or anything, so you don't have to try to hit me with that.
Third of all - nothing of this makes any sense. The reason for this scene was for the writers to "foreshadow" that Dany would not be giving up her crown for Jon. And it's a poorly written way of doing so. I'm a hobby fantasy writer and I could've done a better job, and I'm just some random dipshit on the internet.
So CALM. DOWN.
Just explaining why in my opinion this scene and this conversation makes total sense and it (as you state it yourself) perfectly shows us why the events of the rest of S8 make sense later on. No need to feel attacked, bro....
@@evatesche the rest of the season makes no sense. It couldve made sense if you would've had one or two more seasons to develop it to this point, but that made no sense. And this scene, again, is written so poorly, involving the, again, wrong characters.

I recommend ignoring all of the "the last good episode" comments. I let them sway me away from completing it, but when I did I enjoyed it. The next episode has a great atmosphere.
Also because i listened to all the hate I went into the end with low hopes and was pleasantlysuprised, so thank you everyone!

It's my head canon that Pod sang to those girls that Tyrion rented for him, and that's why they enjoyed him so much.
Love this!! I genuinely think he just cared about their pleasure as well, which most men who buy women don't. I mean, if Pod was as... well, gracious... as he is in general.... I can see it.

I can honestly say that the next episode had my heart rate going, and I haven't felt that way since when it comes to watching a series. I really hope you enjoy it and if you don't, that's okay. Just don't do what others have done and condemn the ones who were happy with what we got. It's definitely an unpopular opinion.

Dany does not need to chill when she found out Jon is Targaryen. She has every right to be upset. She's worked her ass of to be able to claim what was hers, then she gets that news of jon being a Targaryen meaning he could just take it if he wanted without a fight from anyone really, and its like all her work was for nothing, even though she did do good things like freeing all those slaves and getting her armys it was just her wanting to be a good person/ruler but they were just side goals to her main goal which is the throne. That's all she has every worked towards.

From what I recall, the last two times they spoke were:
At the Riverrun Siege.
When he sent her off with Pod to find Arya and Sansa.
Didn't insult her either of those times. In fact when he sent her off to find the girls, he showed how much he admired her, with the armor and the sword, and he was truly touched, when she named the sword "Oathkeeper". Once he truly realized how honorable she was, he never insulted her again.

Whatever people may say about season 8, this episode remains one of my all time favourites of the series. It's just beautifully put together, including so many emotional moments between characters we love - Sansa hugging Theon; Jaime knighting Brienne; the Night's Watch reunion and so on. It doesn't rush. It takes its time to just have people having conversations. I love it.
