Today, I am trying something new, a DIY tutorial on how to FIX the mouth and elbows on the DC Multiverse Hush Batman by McFarlane Toys. This project will require some spare parts, some kitbashing, and some painting, but I will explain it all and the results speak for themselves!

Without a doubt this is the definitive batman. Congratulations
You just need a good custom cape
Thanks! I have been thinking about that, yet. I don't really like this cape. It's the way it hangs on the shoulders.
Awesome. You could always use the pointed boots on the year two Batman. You can use ascetone to get rid of the black on the hush batman elbows
That's exactly where I am planning on using those pointed boot.
Totally can close the mouth all the way. Just mask the face with epoxy putty or green stuff, roughly sculpt with a wet exacto, then go in with some super small sanding sticks to refine and define the fetures, paint and done.
Use white epoxy
After your Superman kitbash I’ve been diving deep into Multiverse customs. 😂 we need more showcases/tutorials.
Thanks! Definitely something I want to do more of. I still have Tim Drake Robin to finish, and I have a Wonder Woman to show off as well.
@@5POAFigureReviews cant wait! I think what you can do is just post them all in one video. Kinda like a compilation of all your customs so we can see all the stuff you came up with 👌
This is the first time I have watched this channel.
The customization got my attention.
Nice. I have a bunch more coming.
5 poa uploaded, my day is now significantly better
Thank you, Noah! That is very kind. Glad I could make your day better.
You got the best fig videos... Killing it!!!
Thanks man!
This video and channel made me decide to sell my entire action figure collection
...ok?
umm what
Why? Such a weird comment
Apple Barrel is really underrated paint. It's cheap but it's not thick and globby, it goes on really nice and smooth.
Yeah, I use it a lot for other stuff and I like it a lot. And this color and finish was perfect.
Bro, this is insanely cool
Thank you! Working on my next Custom vid as a matter of fact
You did a great job making that figure look more accurate to the actual Hush Batman.
McFarlane needs to put in the effort to make the figures they sell look correct.
I'm probably only going to paint the black on the elbow joints grey & call it good but very glad to see you show us how to do it right. More custom vids from you would be nice. Thanks!
Thanks so much, Travis! I really appreciate it.
Very cool. Almost makes me confident enough to paint my own figures lol.
If I can, anyone can!
Love this type of video! Was very fun to watch, turned out really cool!
Excellent work, man!
My Batman is a modified Flashpoint Batman, which I like. The Three Jokers Batman is just too tall for my tastes, but I love the kitbashing you did.
Thank you! Since this video, I switched his legs out for Rebirth. The kneepads make it a little inaccurate, but the shorter legs really help.
Man the fix with the head is ingenious love it! Great video definitely need more custom videos out there. Kitbashes and actual customising is good fun and gives others ideas to experiment too. I love to customise and kit bash as you said at the playing with your toys making them your own couldnt be so true
Thank you! It really makes me want to do more.
@@5POAFigureReviews I’ve got a kit bash Batman that’s grim knights head, torso of death metal batman, Arkham asylum arms and crotch piece and flashpoint batman legs with the red thigh straps painted black. It’s my Batman
@@weeold Sounds awesome
This was so cool! The figure looks so much better now.
Thanks so much!
I recently got the Hush Batman and was going through various reviews and modifications and stumbled across something you may like to know. The elbow joint on the Hush Batman can be gray and black. Take some acetone and rub the joint and the black will be removed. I did it to mine and it looks a lot better.
Thanks Doc!
one of my favorite videos of your channel it looks dope 🔥🔥
Oh wow thanks!
👍👍 Awesome job! Building up the courage to try this myself, thank you for the inspiration!
You can do it! Happy to help.
Cool! That's the same trick you can do with the MOTU Origins Skeletor to close his mouth.
Nice!
Looks great!
Thanks so much!
Great first custom. Its a little scary customizing. I'm trying small steps with customizing some capes for now. 😆 🤣. But I'm getting the courage to start some action figure kid bashing. Awesome review like always 👍
Thanks so much! More coming, just always distracted by the reviews I gotta get through.
Love it! Definitely want to see more videos like this! Cheers 😁
Thanks! Three more in the works.
I'm still new in custom painting and kit bashing. Both of them are fine, but when it comes to breaking plastic such as cutting them out I still feel sad I have to do it. So after that custom I still have bitter sweet memories.
Understandable.
Well done!
Thank you!
Super fun kit bash! Will definitely do some of my own like this
Since then I swapped the legs for Rebirth and it scales much better with other figures now.
@@5POAFigureReviews oooo good call. I’m excited for the new speeding bullet buck Todd just announced because aside from the superman esk logo and covered mouth it’s damn near perfect for a classic blue and grey suit for me.
Looks amazing! Might even try it myself
If I can do it, anyone can! Def give it a go! Glad you like it.
Great video dude i love your channel
Thank you!
looks great! definitely you should continue doing more
Thanks! I do have a few fun ideas.
Great ideas for how to customize my Batman figures!!!
Thanks! More coming.
Bravo! Very nice job!
Thank you very much!
You did a really good job, especially for being the first time. Just motivated me to do something similar.
Nice! Happy to help inspire ya
Nice video!!! I really like what you did here and definitely would like to see more.
Thanks so much! Three more coming.
One little advice: there's a vídeo of Unparalleled Universe where he does a similar thing with the Inmortal Hulk figure to close his mouth, and he uses a zip tie to keep the mouth shut for longer time and secure it stays closed
Nice! I'll have to give that a watch. If you saw my Hulk Versus, one of the things about Immortal I wasn't crazy about was the open mouth, so I may give that a shot.
Awesome I bought the two pack for 20 bucks at target I removed the cape without Tearing it and I’m getting a cloth cape it may not have wire but it works
Nice!
Jason my friend I applaud you sir fantastic work definitely will be doing this one for sure
Thanks! I have been excited for you to see this! Glad you like it.
@@5POAFigureReviews I do man I’m definitely going to be working on this once I get my 3 jokers Batman
I've seen quite a few figure customizers who diss Apple Barrel paint. Not everybody wants to spend a ton on those model kit paints. If it works, it works!
Exactly! I doesn't hold up great at joints, but for this it's just fine
I absolutely love this idea. Just bought both of them and plan to do this same kitbash. The only thing I'm gonna do that's different from yours is I will use the Three Jokers Batman head and cape, instead of the ones from the Hush 2-pack. Also, the scallops will remain untouched for mine. Perhaps, I'll even paint the belt brown.
Nice! Hope it turns out just the way you want.
Excelente, excelente, excelente!!!!
Gracias!
Good job … I’ll do just the same once I get my figure
Awesome! Happy to provide some inspiration.
Great job hope you do more custom videos in the near future.
Thank you! I do have a few more ideas, one of course I teased at the end of this.
Great video! Love this kind of easy kitbash customs that I can actually try, since I'm not that skilled but want to start at some point
If I can, anyone can! So def give it a try.
What is this magic? It’s so beautiful! Nice work man looks official too
Thanks a lot! I really appreciate it!
Please keep doing custom videos, i really dig them! And show us more of tools you use.
Will do! And thanks for the feedback. I am new to tutorials, so any info on what I can do to be more instructive is very much appreciated!
Jolly good process review. Bats custom is great. You can also use the treaded boots from Capullo Batman Heavy Metal 🎯.
Thanks so much! And good idea!
Nice job. I’ll definitely have to give this a try. I do have an idea using Batman Rebirth’s thighs to help take some height off.
I am not 100% but I think Rebirth's thighs are the same as Three Jokers, which is why they look so rounded and disproportionate to the tiny body. Again, not 100%. I put the legs against each other and they seem really really close.
@@5POAFigureReviews
I don’t think they are. I pulled them out to make sure and 3Js’ looks beefier. I mean it could with the different sculpts between the two. The only other legs I could think of using to shrink Batman would be Thomas Wayne but then that requires sculpting the straps and I’m horrible at sculpting.
the bat fins should have been cut on an angle going up from smallest to large...the paint matching was perfect...u did an excellent job!
Thanks so much!
When is the customm of year 2 im waiting for itt and im wanting for itt pleaseee hehe
Still waiting for that mcfarlane Batman year two figure custom 😂
You and me both! Ha.
I prefer using sponges to paint with apple barrel paint and McFARLANE figures
That's a good tip! Thanks for letting me know.
Can you do the flash season 7 action figure and customize them with the gold boots pls.
I do prefer the gold so I will def consider it!
Would the timeless grey apple barrel paint work if I just wanna paint the elbow joints?
My gut tells me that craft paint would chip, but since I have no plans for the arms I can give it a try and get back to you if you're cool with that.
@@5POAFigureReviews yeah sure thanks man!
Does the dc multiverse mcfarlane rebirth legs work with the hush or 3 jokers batman?
Like use the thighs and calves? Like if you can take the the rubber boots off each and switch them would that make hush/3 jokers shorter?
If theirs a good figure with different legs like rebirth batman could make hush/3 jokers shorter. If colors match. Especially if the boots can slide off and be put on another.
Like using rebirth legs on hush, take off boots of hush and take hush boots and put them on the rebirth.
If it works it could be a nice size batman. I was thinking about doing it, but wasn't sure.
Yes, you can swap them, and although the colors aren't a perfect match, they are pretty close on Three Jokers
1:54 ya gonna fix year 2s boots with those?
That's the plan.
The hush forearms are not molded in black, u can just scrape the black off the elbow joint and upper arm and there is molded grey underneath
You are correct. I am not sure if I knew that at the time, but I would still have done it this way if I had. To my eye, the sculpted glove just looks better, and to be honest I don't trust the steadiness of my hand to have been able to shape the glove with either scraping or painting. A good option for those who are better at that, for sure.
Does it work with the hush 2pck figure?
I can't vouch for it 100% on Hush himself because I haven't tried it, but I imagine it would. The cavity for his mouth is bigger, so you'd need a couple drops more glue I'd think.
@@5POAFigureReviews Thanks, i might try it, i found a cheap 2 pack hush without a batman and wanted the mouth to be closed. Your videos are entertaining as always dude.
Mcf will reissue a closed mouth version though..
true, but when I made this video last year we didn't know that.
I know your using three jokers legs and boots so those would have to be heated up to remove boots to slide them on rebirth calves.
Don't think my idea works. The rebirth is different color.
They are different from piece to piece. It's possible to find a pair that are close enough I think
@@5POAFigureReviews that's true!!
I figured if the hush batman or three jokers had different legs it would lower his high to fit in scale better.
I know the hush blue version which like is darker. I figured rebirth was darker and could work, I'd just have to heat up legs to switch boots and knee pads.
If I could find any darker legs it could help. It necessarily doesn't have to be batman legs. It could be any as long as the colors are close.
Or
Maybe find shins from a figure and upper thighs from another.
Like vampire batman is pretty dark, but it uses the three jokers body sculpt so it's out, but not sure who else has a dark gray.
Was thinking owlman, but he's lighter in color which could would for black, n gray hush...
I just like the blue and gray better.
I just have to investigate.
I love your videos!! I like your indepth videos. You do side by side scaling/ high comparisons, head swaps, and I love how you do verses of the same figures to find the best version!!
That's exactly what I try to do!! I try to only have 1 figure of each character. I try not to have multiple of the same person.
I think the only person I have multiple of is superman.
1 blue suit, and 1 black suit of dc multiverse.
1 blue suit and 1 black suit of mafex.
I do have 3 batman, but their different people. Bruce, Thomas, and future Damien Wayne Batman, which is Dark Detective.
I know The card of Dark Detective says it's batman, but that version is the same of a comic book I read a long time ago where Damien was in the future and had a trench coat, scarf and used guns.
Which the Justice league movie showed a future Batman in it, which was played by Ben Affleck, but when I watch it I know it's Damien Wayne really, and not Bruce.
Though the movie makes it seem like it's Bruce, and I think it is, but from the comic book I read future events where Batman where's a trenchcoat, scarf and guns it's Damien.
So the justice league movies all messed up in storyline, but I don't think they go by comics really at all, so it is what it is, but deep down, I'm like that Damiens story's. Lol
Use some nail polish remover on the elbow of the Hush Batman arms. It's gray plastic with Black painted on top. It's very weird
Really? That is definitely odd. I assumed it was cast in black plastic.
@@5POAFigureReviews I assumed so at 1st, but yeah it's molded in the gray, so this must've just been a weird production mistake
dude i know hoe to make a good cape change in the Macfarlanes Batman, just using a drill and some little glue
Make more custom vids!
Got three more in the works! Just gotta get off my butt and do them
Looks.beefy
Man, the 3 Joker's cape looks MUCH better on it because it covers those God-forsaken, ridiculous low-shoulders. Trust me!
I agree. When I swapped the heads with Three Jokers I was like, "Oh..." lol I may yet swap the capes, but I am happy for now.
The shoulders just look off. It's a shame this Hush Batman didn't come out of the factory better.
They are off on the Three Jokers too, but the cape balances it out.
@@5POAFigureReviews They remind me of Mattel barbie shoulders
You massacred the 3 jokers too much that it suggested to me that you could just throw the hush batman away and replace it completely with 3 jokers batman
uh.. 666likes
Uh oh!
Those legs are still far too long. The legs from Red Son Superman are perfect for it.
Thanks for the tip. I swapped them out for Rebirth and despite the kneepads I am very happy. The boot detail is more subtle while keeping the treads, and he scales much much better now. If you want to see it, I put him in my Dr. Fate video.
Neat Batman but ALOT of Flaws
Yeah, but I am pretty happy now.
@@5POAFigureReviews I Loved what you did with it, It just looks more natural and less awkward looking
Just get a MAFEX Hush Batman. Save yourself the time and effort.
Ah but for DC I am a 7 inch collector. I will get him eventually though, I am sure.
