I think the 2024 Men's was... -okay-. It definitely needed better pacing. I think if Cody came out at like #8 that would have done the trick. Punk tearing his tricep was just unfortunate, and the ending was just perfect. TOO BAD RAW AND SMACKDOWN IMMEDIATELY AFTER RUINED IT FOR EVERYONE.
Another thing worth pointing out about the 2018 Rumble - Heath Slater getting attacked repeatedly and then eliminating Sheamus is probably the best RR comedy spot of all time
Well: You have Santino not being ready The Hurricane’s double chokeslam R-Truth grabbing the ladder or going for the hot tag Heath’s on the short list, but it’s stiff competition for the best.
Recipes for the perfect Rumble: 1. Have a bunch of stars in the match 2. Not asking for much just give us bare minimum two viable options people are split on who can realistically win. Not squinting your eyes and bsing yourselves but people litereally debating about it. 3. Mixing-in non-main eventers at the end or giving them big stories within the match will always be applauded. 4. Pacing, pacing, pacing (mix in comedy, cool spots, something creative, etc.) 5. I feel there should always be one debut surprise entrant and one fun nostaligic one. 6. A well produced final 4 to final 2.
People seem to forget that Drew Carey also had Triple H on his show with the IC title in the mid 90s and that also probably goes with his HOF induction.
@@BaithNabut the entire 2023 he was saying he will finish the story wins the 2024 Rumble points at Roman and then says he isn’t going after him at WM, but that someone else (The Rock) is going after him instead of him. WWE really F UP everything.
I remember picking Drew in my predictions for the 2020 rumble and my friends laughed and said “it’s gonna be Roman” so that final 2 was the most hype I’ve been. Felt like a kid again
The 2005 Royal Rumble is underrated because everyone focuses on the ending and sort of glosses over the other good bits. It starts with Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit, aka the wrestlers who closed last year's Wrestlemania as world champions who are also good friends with amazing chemistry in the ring, the Raw vs Smackdown showdown partway through which the fans absolutely ate up, and the top 5 elimination of Snitsky clotheslining Paul London. Also, the final four of Batista, Cena, Edge and Rey Mysterio is an awesome final four as it was basically WWE saying "this is the future" and all four guys would win their first world titles within a year and a half. So often the final four has a bunch of established stars but in this one I think they were trying to prove a point and spotlight four guys who would be major players for the next several years.
The comment by Tempest about 1990 being the first rumble to further stories, makes 1989 worthy of a rewatch. Hogan & boss man feuding and they eliminate each other and brawl up aisle way, savage & bad news brown futhered their feud, the andre jake rivalry escalated, rockers & brainbusters got it on, demolition being numbers 1&2 suited their gimmick perfectly. There is a bugger tonne of stories in this rumble and ive not mentioned the mega powers exploding.
I'd really love to see them put a world title on the line in the Rumble again. Then you have the Champ get eliminated early, and *instantly* the stakes escalate exponentially
One of the many cool things about that match is that it's a Rumble match with no previous Rumble winners in it. The only other time where that was the case was the very first Rumble. I think that's a neat touch. Also the match is amazing. Benoit as the iron man, Orton racking up eliminations coupled with Foley's awesome return, Kane and Goldberg getting cheesed out of the match, Benoit vs Angle again. So much fun.
No love for 2002? I think it’s an underrated classic. The return of Mr. Perfect, Maven dropkicking Taker, the HURRICANE going for the double chokeslam… and the right winner in Triple H.
Plus, the return of Goldust as no. 2, Kane eliminates Big Show with ease, a Spinaroonie followed by a Stunner, great final 2 and a great runner-up in Kurt Angle
Controversial opinion, but I’d probably put 2018 outside the top 5. It’s good, but just lacked something. Plus, I think the matches that Nakamora went on to have with Styles taints that win just a little bit.
when you guys did the balls for number spots in the rumble i decided to do a randomizer for the rumbles with me and my friends to make it more fun and i thought i got shafted by getting #3 for the womens rumble but then out came Bayley! Love you guys keep up the amazing work and WE NEED MORE SULLY DAMNIT (If it fits into the schedules)
This might be super controversial but I'm surprised 2004 isn't higher. I get the winner is redacted and that he starts at number one but it's hard not to find the storytelling of his win as a really well written rumble especially since it's only big boys. It's just a shame it wasn't someone like Kurt winning like that instead.
Respect to oli bringing up 2004. It’s a great rumble with an all time great performance. I view Benoit as an actor. I can love his roles and performances. His personal life and his actions are heinous but I can separate them
I feel so spoilt to have got into wrestling in mid 2000. I feel so spoilt that my first few shows included No Mercy, Survivor Series 2000, RR 2001, NWO 2001 & WMX7. I dont feel so spoilt that KOTR 2000 was my first PPV though. But yes, RR 2001 is the best by a mile.

I hate when people say I don't like the 2004 rumble "for obvious reasons" despite what Benoit did it doesn't change the fact that that rumble is one of the greatest of all time the story told in the rumble alone puts it in my top 5
It was incredibly booked & excellently executed: so many storylines furthered & initiated for Wrestlemania, impeccable timing, great balance of stars to midcard to guests.
Nobody says they HATE the rumble because of what Benoit did, they say that what Benoit did makes it VERY VERY DIFFICULT to rewatch it. Y’know, for reasons that should be obvious. Because even if the storytelling of the match is very well-done, the fact that the story in question is centering around wanting good things for Chris Benoit, you can’t really buy into it without feeling gross. @@theoneandonlymichaelmccormick unlike a lot of people I can separate Benoit the wrestler from Benoit the person and I can separate a WWE storyline from a real life event

2018 Men's is my favourite Rumble - it wasn't the first I stayed up to watch, but it WAS the first with friends and that made it even better, but even then it's a phenomenal match. From Rusev Day to kick it off, the Heath Slater storyline with the brilliant pay off, the Hurricane surprise, the fact that one of the guys watching it with me had talked about wanting Rey Mysterio to appear before the show and then he did, that final six and then THAT final four, to the sheer dread I felt at Roman's near-eliminations before he gets Kinshasa'd one more time and eliminated to utter bedlam...so, SO perfect.
I’ll definitely have to go back and watch the 2018 Rumble again because i NEVER understood the hype behind it. The 3 on 3 faceoff didn’t do anything for me and i dont consider it this Grand RR moment that the YT channels seem to make it out to be. Was there something else that made it good?
The field was great. The heath slater stuff was funny. Kofi has a good spot. The entry order keeps it interesting. Hurricane surprise entry is funny. Rey return, final 6, Finn as the iron man, Nakamura wins
Honorable Mentions: *2002 - Winner: Triple H - Runner-up: Kurt Angle - Underrated Rumble - Underrated Returns like Goldust, The Godfather and Mr. Perfect - shocking elimination courtesy of Maven - funny comedic spots by Hurricane and Booker T - a bunch of lads *2003 - Winner: Brock Lesnar - Runner-up: The Undertaker (technically Batista) - another underrated Rumble - a classic swerve by Chris Jericho on Shawn Michaels using Christian as a setup/clickbait - a bunch of lads
I need to rewatch the 2018 Rumble. Pretty much all the other picks in the lists, I went, "oh yeah, I remember that, that was great." But for 2018, all I've really got is "Oh yeah, Nakamura won", and I don't remember much else about it. I probably haven't made a point to go back and watch it after how crap the Nakamura vs. AJ's balls feud was.
Think we all knew from the start who was winning. But who cares, we love the Royal Rumble! As for the Top 11, three single votes make it, but they rightly all get outranked by the 8 that got multiple votes, which doesn't happen often. 1) 2001 (28) 2) 2018 Men's (27) 3) 2020 Men's (23) 4) 2023 Men's (19) 5) 2007 (17) 6) 2023 Women's (12) 7) 1992 (10) 8) 2010 (9) 9) 2008 (6) 10) 2019 Women's (5) 10) 2016 (5) Actually kind of surprised no one said the 2018 Women's. A lot of legends to fill the 30, yes, but I thought it did a bang up job for first time out.
Do You guys do women Only lists? I know you guys include women in some of these but I would like to see opinions on the womens division and women wrestling in general.

What I find crazy is how they had Nakamura won the Rumble and they still didn’t give him the win for the Championship against Aj. Also how WWE haven’t given him a WWE championship run. I feel that Nakamura winning the Rumble was a waste of time and Rumble win.
Triple H crotch chopping like a school child just discovered it after he eliminated Roman Reigns. _Will forever be the 2nd funniest image in Rumble history behind Grumpy Torn Quad Toddler Vince._ 😂
I will say it’s picky but one of the reasons I haven’t like the womens rumbles the last couple of years is I felt like it was so long between men rumbles where someone won in the first 3 entrants for the 3 of the last 4 years that’s happen which makes me feel the only reason there doing the iron women thing all the way is because there no over enough through bad booking and that will overlook there booking which has worked but cause of how many times they’ve done together makes me not enjoy it 💯💯💯

I will say it’s picky but one of the reasons I haven’t like the womens rumbles the last couple of years is I felt like it was so long between men rumbles where someone won in the first 3 entrants for the 3 of the last 4 years that’s happen which makes me feel the only reason there doing the iron women thing all the way is because there no over enough through bad booking and that will overlook there booking which has worked but cause of how many times they’ve done together makes me not enjoy it 💯💯💯
Not like either of the 2024 rumbles would’ve made the list anyway. They were just alright
Ahhhhhh the News ☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️

This show without Sullivan is like the royal rumble without Daniel Bryan
Can this to be done again but with other WrestleTalk guys? I'm interested in knowing their top 10's as well
