7:10 the attention to detail on the addition of an SE5 pusher is impressive. A lot of people don’t even know what a pusher is, never mind that they fought in the war
Just a small correction, but the "lattice tail", as the Germans called them, at 7:10 appears to be a DH 2, a single seat scout. The FE 2b is the bigger two seat fighting machine also seen in the video. The SE 5 or rather SE 5a is the single seat scout that loses its wing in the opening sequence and was a "tractor" engined aircraft and not a "pusher".
The SE5 was a tractor aeroplane - and they are in the film. The pushers are de Havilland DH2s (Lanoe Hawker VC was killed fighting the Baron in one) and rather briefly, an Royal Aircraft Factory FE2b - think 'Biggles Learns to Fly'. All of those planes are beautifully drawn - and, quite correctly, the Albatri seen in the Jasta 2 scenes are a mixed bag of different marks - look at the wing tips. To me this film is a masterpiece. Bravo!
Also, many would not be aware that the engine of the Fokker Dr.1 triplane rotated in its entirety (hence "Umlaufmotor" = rotating engine), but the animation depicted this in a very convincing manner when showing von Richthofen's last flight.

“Fight on and fly on to the last drop of blood and the last drop of fuel, to the last beat of the heart.” -Manfred Von Richtofen. I always found it ironic that he was killed from a bullet to the heart during his last flight.
Muy buen video , como curiosidad en el escuadron del Baron Rojo , estaba Herman Goering , años mas tarde fue el comandante de la Lutwafe , y Mariscal del Reig
I love how sometimes scenes and characters expressions are inspired by the german movie from 2009 ! It's brilliant ! Recently people are starting to make a dark reputation to the Red Baron. I'm not believing it. Yes he was a hunter but he also was a pilot. Maybe not the knight of the sky described but certainly was in his own as the british tribute can say. It's an amazing tribute to the "Red Knight" !
Poor Manfred, he was either loathed or loved; certainly some writers (They Fought for the Sky, by Quentin Reynolds, for example) really hated him. From family records which emerged after the reunification of Germany, its clear he had a likeable, thoughtful side to him, very human and quite attractive. That head wound changed him - if he hadn't already realised it, it taught him he was mortal like anybody else. And the carnage took its toll - he outlived all his squadron mates and their loss affected him. The 2009 film, by the by, would have been better if it hadn't pretended to be true, and so used fictional names for its characters - historical accuracy isn't its forte, but the aircraft are beautiful!
Amazing work on this reboot, y'all! LOVE the reference at 8:58 to the 2008 movie with the balloon being burned by the flare gun. Keep up the outstanding work!
Woah... That last part gave me chills down my spine as I just put two and two together. The German ace, Feldwebel Robert Anluaf , began his letter in the same manner in response to the lone p51 that took on 6 fw190s and saved 160 souls at the cost of his own life. It was most likely an allusion to the red Barron's letter. Chilling stuff, it seems all the WW1 and WW2 soldiers were poets, artists and great writers. I got to handle pieces of trench art in college and it was amazing. They were brass artillery shells that they indented to make intricate designs. Edit: spelling and grammar
Something not mentioned in the video is that on April 30th 1917, he faced off against his Canadian counterpart William Avery Bishop aka "Billy Bishop" who was credited with 72 victories during the war. The only reason Billy Bishop didn't get the red barron is because his guns jammed at the crucial moment. In fact he was one of if not the only allied piolot that the red barron openly considdered his equal.
Just the other day I was at a war museum here in Canada and I saw the Red Barons: windscreen, a piece of seat leather, and a chunk of the wing which was really interesting to see.
Great video. I especially appreciate that you are correct in depicting him in a biplane most of the time. The triplanes become so iconic I've seen other channels falsely depict him flying it even early in his career. He actually liked his biplane so much he resisted switching to the triplane. Reportedly when he finally did, he actually was very impressed by its increased maneuverability.👍
One legacy you didn't / couldn't mention was the superlative Fokker D7, 'the plane that makes heroes out of greenhorns'. Manfred test flew the prototype, I understand, absolutely loved it and his recommendation carried great weight with the Imperial Staff.
I figured this channel would have millions of subscribers but no only 600k. You deserve to be seen by millions. Your historically accurate storytelling included with the absolutely incredible animation. The amount of hard work and dedication to telling people about history is absolutely astonishing. I had no idea Richthofen served on a bomber before turning to single seaters. Your hard work shows and it's absolutely amazing.
This remaster is amazing! Having seen the original as well, it's fantastic to see the growth in animation quality of your videos as well as storytelling!!
Amazing men and women who represent their country to the uttermost highest standard. I think Witold Pilecki, for his bravery and determination, should be recognized as such a person.
The red barron respected every pilot he downed/killed. This is what makes him a ledgend. Even in war, he kept the rules of sportsmanship. A person who in times of war respects and honors the enemy is an enemy who is worth of respect and honor.
The animations and the fine artistry of the characters in this film are unique. The skills and the artistic attitude make this documentary a rare and extremely correct depiction of the Red Baron, and of general air combat in WWI...
as an aussie with family/ancestors who were ANZACs i gotta say im proud we gave him the farewell and burial someone of his caliber rightfully deserved. he may have been an enemy but he fought with honour and was a worthy adversary.
The skies of WW1 were the final resting place of chivalry in warfare. The stories of the aces and their respect for each other were a staple of my childhood. This was epic!
The pilots of ww1 were the best humans, they had honor, respect for their foes it shows how despite them trying to kill each other they still had respect toward other humans

I wish i could go back in time and thank this man for inspiring so many people to become aviators.
This channel has reached a higher level of detail, accuracy and overall beauty than a lot of movies. Absolutely stunning.
@@johndavies1090 I’m right here
He died at a young 25 years of age.
A quote from him "It's not the crate, it's the man inside the crate."
It is absolutely incredible how far your animation skills have come in two years! You videos are the best
i swear every video the animations get 10 times better
I'd never heard of trench art. Thanks for mentioning it.
Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. I am speechless
Animation quality just keeps getting better and better
Something not mentioned in the video is that on April 30th 1917, he faced off against his Canadian counterpart William Avery Bishop aka "Billy Bishop" who was credited with 72 victories during the war. The only reason Billy Bishop didn't get the red barron is because his guns jammed at the crucial moment. In fact he was one of if not the only allied piolot that the red barron openly considdered his equal.
Ernst Udet, second german ace, said Bishop was the most dangerous allies' pilot.
The Aussies got the Red Baron it has been proven many times.
This video gives people an idea of the man.
But there was so much more to the legend. I hope that gets more looking.
I highly recommend that anyone familiar with his story read his memoir. Glad I took the time to do that.
I think it's a testament to the man that he was honored as noble and worthy foe by so many of his enemy. /salute
the detail is incredible for this one, theres so much upgrades to the animation style
Great video. He tough us anything of taking down the enemies. What a true red legend
The most famous pilot in history, the legend never dies.
Yarnhub through this masterpiece has done justice to the bravery and spirit of Red Baron . . May the Red Fokker fly always . . . 😘
The fact that he was so good that he gained the enemy's respect
Stunning as always, I couldn't imagine it would look this good! Now to see what's next!
Imagine being such a legend, that you get the respect of you foes and get a badass metal song written about you so everyone knows your name and legacy
This remaster is amazing! Having seen the original as well, it's fantastic to see the growth in animation quality of your videos as well as storytelling!!
Remastered a classic, THIS IS BEAUTIFUL!
Bloody hell, you actually went back and redid some of your prior work. Incredible stuff, as always. You guys keep on stunning.
I've seen parts of the Red Barons plane on display in a Australian museum . The Aussies souvenired parts of the Foker . Cheers
And he's flying and he's flying and he's flying......
No
The exact same lines from the 2d animation one brought back memories of those times
This was a true masterpiece. Beautiful
Amazing men and women who represent their country to the uttermost highest standard. I think Witold Pilecki, for his bravery and determination, should be recognized as such a person.
First time I’ve seen a Hub of Yarn episode on the premier…
Doesn’t make it any less interesting.
The red barron respected every pilot he downed/killed.
This is what makes him a ledgend.
Even in war, he kept the rules of sportsmanship.
A person who in times of war respects and honors the enemy is an enemy who is worth of respect and honor.
If the Red Baron was alive today he would be amazed of what had become aircraft plus you should make more remasters.
The animations and the fine artistry of the characters in this film are unique. The skills and the artistic attitude make this documentary a rare and extremely correct depiction of the Red Baron, and of general air combat in WWI...
Another lovely informative video, best history videos out there.
as an aussie with family/ancestors who were ANZACs i gotta say im proud we gave him the farewell and burial someone of his caliber rightfully deserved. he may have been an enemy but he fought with honour and was a worthy adversary.
The remastered version looks so good! I wish you more success in your endeavours to create such stunning videos.
This felt more like a mini movie I love it
This is such a cool story! And it even goes further in Richthofen's story. Love it!
The skies of WW1 were the final resting place of chivalry in warfare. The stories of the aces and their respect for each other were a staple of my childhood. This was epic!
The Red Baron is my favorite history Manfred Von Richthofen keep up the amazing work
The pilots of ww1 were the best humans, they had honor, respect for their foes it shows how despite them trying to kill each other they still had respect toward other humans
This video SHOULD be the animated video for Sabaton's "The Red Baron"!
To the gentlemen who work in this wonderful channel.. Your works are very wonderful and very special. The smartest and most beautiful greetings. I send it to you with love, respect and appreciation. Letters cannot write what my heart holds of appreciation and respect for your esteemed channel. All praise, admiration and respect to you. How beautiful it is for a person to be a candle of knowledge that illuminates the path
*Man and machine and nothing there in between
The flying circus and a man from Prussia
The sky and a plane, this man commands his domain
The western front and all the way to Russia
Death from above, you're under fire
Stained red as blood, he's roaming higher
Born a soldier from the horseback to the skies
That's where the legend will arise
And he's flying
Higher, the king of the sky
He's flying too fast and he's flying too high
Higher, an eye for an eye
The legend will never die
First to the scene, he is a lethal machine
It's bloody April and the tide is turning
Fire at will, it is the thrill of the kill
Four in a day shot down with engines burning
Embrace the fame, red squadron leader
Call out his name: "Rote Kampfflieger"
In the game to win, a gambler rolls the dice
Eighty allies paid the price
And he's flying
Higher, the king of the sky
He's flying too fast and he's flying too high
Higher, an eye for an eye
The legend will never die
Higher
Higher, the king of the sky
He's flying too fast, again, he's flying too high
He's flying higher, an eye for an eye
The legend will never die
Higher
Born a soldier from the horseback to the skies
And the legend never dies
And he's flying
And he's flying
And he's flying
Higher, the king of the sky
He's flying too fast and he's flying too high
Higher, an eye for an eye
The legend will never die
Higher, the king of the sky
He's flying too fast and he's flying too high
Higher, an eye for an eye
The legend will never die*

To be so feared and yet so respected that your enemy treat you as they would a fallen comrade is something incredible to say the least but honestly probably something we will never see again
Wow the quality just gets better every video it literally looks like they acted it out but no it’s animated, just wow great vid 👍
Old yarn hub videos: 2D and pretty good
New yarn hub videos: 3D and masterpieces
you teach history better than my school
X100
Another lesson one could learn after hearing his story is that even your heroes can be an inspiration but there is always a way to become even better than them.
Hey yarnhub, i absolutely love the animation! You guys have put out some of the best and most entertaining history videos I’ve ever seen! And to that I say thank you!
I think I discovered the channel through Sabaton, with the “No Bullets Fly” video, it’s a beautiful video might I add!
God i hate reading yarnhub as pornhub
@@oasis1282 lmao
Thank you. No Bullets Fly is still the one we're most proud of
@@Yarnhub Wow thank you! And as it should be! I think that the No Bullets Fly video is a work of art, As well as all of your other videos!
@@Yarnhub I like the attack of the dead men song
I was here in the launch of the video and loved it great animation and live chat
Now the production quality of this video is just epic !
I would like to thank you for making an updated vareant of a red baron episode and i have been so exited to see this video
I love the Red Baron. A true hero
I absolutely love that the team is remastering these stories.
By the way, YarnHub, after watching this a SECOND time, I came to the conclusion that this can ALSO serve as a MOTIVATIONAL video! Now, WHY did I say that? It's THIS: Before he became THE ACE of Aces of World War 1, Manfred Albrecht Freiherr von Richthofen WASN'T that good a pilot at first! Take note: AT FIRST! But, through sheer effort, perseverance & stubbornness, he eventually passed after repeated failures &, over time, he would become The Red Baron! Thus, the lesson to be learned here is THIS: NEVER GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS! I believe this message should also inspire those of Our Brothers who choose to be Men Going Their Own Way but are feeling lost & unsure in their time of need. I hope this helps! Again, THANK YOU SO MUCH for this WONDERFUL video made! I know it helped me out of my own funk!
Nice Remastered version, good job guys.
If you have seen the movie they have similar clips. For example in 7:15 an enemy plane crashes into one german. In one of combats scenes in movie it happens the same.I be seen the movie Red baron countless times and i love it.It seems that you guys have done your research.Thank you guys for this amazing video.Continue and we will support you.
You know you've reached the top when even your enemies pay respect to you. 07
This channel wins hearts... what a heart warming progress in animation and story telling.. Brava!!
The difference in quality is staggering!
Bravo….
This only puts to colors the tremendous effort this channel does to improve video by video. Some of the best history content on UA-cam!
Snoopy raising a glass of root beer and saying "here's to you, Red Baron".
It’s amazing that the German Kaiser allowed Manfred to paint his Fokker bright red, which basically painted a target on his back? He was that skilled and brave.
The respect and honour of centuries past…
Rest in piece to my older generations that came before me.
Thanks for the vid yarnhub, always pulling out amazing content, I’ve been waiting for this to get a remaster and I’m glad it did, can’t wait for your next video!
"The red baron... The red baron. THE RED BARON!"
Yarnhub is summoning THE RED BARON
I like remastered videos! By doing it by second time, it allows you to correct or improve things.
My papa would tell stories of the man’s daring exploits.
I bet manfred might still be flying his red Fokker tri plane in heaven right now… may he Fly in peace.
My man only says he’s kaput when his plane is crashed landed and he’s been fatally wounded what a legend
He sure was an honorable fighter pilot that's why after he died he was really buried with full military honors.
@@thurse-ri8je coz why did the allies buried him with full military honors? Means he isn't a bad guy.
Excellent video!!!!
