Thanks for commenting! Yes, I am also thrilled about it... want to see if it will improve, but: I am stuck with calibration. I want to do another video and found out, that there is something I should explain a bit better (Extruder Calibration). So I dug down the rabbit hole the past 2 days how I can provide a proper animation for you guys to explain. Tool me now about 5 hrs in total to create the animation (because I am quite a noob with Fusion 360 and that was my weapon of choice). The animation will be 10 seconds in the finished video (well, it will be 2x 10s approx...). But it happened again: I thought "ah... calibration video... no big deal, this will be done in a tenth of the klipper update video creation time" -> and again it will take me much longer. But my next projects will be less time consuming, that is for sure. If you have been stuck at Firmware flashing... maybe you have the same issue I had. Try with a considerably less capacity mSD. If you already did... maybe even buy one from new, just to be sure (I would go for 2 - 4 GB). You can see the required Flashing Pattern in my video. Good luck!

There is a lot more you can try afterwards and if you like tinkering with the hardware... it does not get any better than this. I followed your directions with great success. I'm only having one issue. I installed Crowsnest and now I only get 1fps out of my camera no matter what I do. On the original 1.41 V400 Flsun install the camera worked great. I'm at a loss. It's a Logtech C920.

i used 64 GB successfully!! i had to use MiniTool partition wizard with default allocation size BUT using MBR instead of GPT and i just created 256mb directory and left the rest unallocated.
Thank you! I'm considering buying this printer but I'd like to take advantage of input shaping and pressure advance. This is a great way to see what I'm up against. It's either the V400 or the X1 Carbon.
Thanks for commenting! The two choices are completely opposite I would say. The X1 Carbon is a fire-and-forget Printer... you set it up, most of it automatically and it will work. The V400 is the one you tweak and tinker with. Input shaping is a two-bladed-sword (does this exist as a wording in english? Not sure...). On the one hand it will smothen your prints (removing irregularities/ little issues) on the other hand it will smoothen your prints (lol) (removing wanted details maybe as well). You should think about, when you use it and when you better should not. The V400 ships with Klipper, but as said in the video, there is missing a lot of the original functionality. I consider this not to be mandatory (to do the update) - but I would recommend it.
@@craftingmat5425 in English we usually call it a double edged sword. I understand the trade off when it comes to input shaping. I'm not sure how it works when the kinematics are not linear. I guess it checks for resonant frequencies for each tower? I need to explore it some more.
@@checkavilatility Ah... sure... "double edged". I hope I will learn. To be honest I did not check ADXL345 in depth but afaik it is only 2 parameters measured and it is (iirc) not for each tower... maybe I am wrong, take this with a pinch of salt. I will know in approx 1 week I assume.
Nice video. Thanks to share your experience with us. Now my printer is tottaly upgraded. I am having a new problem that not was happening with stock firmware: Always after boot, my printer is connected on my network, I can access normally via SSH, but I can't send files or access via browser in any device in my network I can ping the printer, but something is like blocking me. In screenpad, I go in network settings, click in the arrow on the network (that is already connected) I receive the notification "Unexpected error: Scanning not allowed immediately following previous scan", but even with error, the connectivity problem is solved, but is annoying to do it after all boot. How can I solve it?
Hm. Difficult to say something on that. Also I have to say that I do not rely on DHCP, I go with fixed IP on any non-mobile device and mobiles (like tablets) which I know stay inside the house/ will not leave the intranet also get fixed IPs. So my advice would be to not go for DHCP and go for fixed IP on the printer.
An dem Cali Video arbeite ich gerade. Ich habe leider sehr wenig Zeit an Ostern. Kann eigentlich nur Nachts arbeiten. Und leider bin ich gleich beim Extruder- kalibrieren an einer Simulation hängen geblieben. Ich will da anschaulich erklären, was es damit auf sich hat und hab ne Simulation gestrickt - nur leider war das meine erste mit Fusion360 und ich musste mir viel zusammen suchen. Die Simulation wird wsl. nur ne Minute in Video ausmachen, hat mich aber über 7h gekostet mittlerweile... Naja... liegt an mir selber, ich möchte gerne guten und schönen Content bringen (wenn ich schon was bringe, soll es passen). Ich kann aktuell nicht sagen, wann ich das Vid fertig habe, ich hoffe bald! Danach wird aber sehr wahrscheinlich mal was anderes kommen aus dem nicht- 3D Druck Bereich. Great footage. Worked as a charm. I had no problems with the 32Gb SSD for flashing the Mothrerboard. However, my Speeder Pad will not finish the boot procedure. Don't know why.... I am able to print from MainSail.

I have followed your video carefully and have been able to install all the steps, but when I now turn on the printer the screen remains on booting system. I can manage the printer through the internet IP address but the screen is frozen with the flsun logo and booting system. The 256MB Card I used for the Printer Firmware. I assume that 2GB and 4GB should also work (blocksize should be 2048 or less when formatting). You need the larger Card (32GB) for the SpeederPad Flashing. As mentioned in my video, I could not get the 32GB Card (which I had and tried first) to work with my printer. You can give it a try as well - I heard of some V400 owners who could flash it even with 32GB Card... I did anything possible (including to reduce the partition size to 2GB, I tried various different Blocksizes...) and it did not work out for me. If you are not out there to deal with that fuzz... I recommend buying a 256, 512MB or 1GB card od alike in advance. They are really cheap - maybe not worth the fuzz as already said... Thanks for your comment!

I couldn't flash my Artillery Sidewinder X1 touchscreen firmware with a 32GB card. I switched to a 512MB card and it worked on the first try. It seems this may be a similar situation.

Hi, I think the crucial part here is the ballheads. For each axis, they need to have the same spacing (the two ballheads need to have same distance between each other on both ends of the rods). So if you want to swap to this head, you may do that if you also change the ballheads (the distance between the ballheads) on the axis- side. The rods need to be completely parallel. I dont know if by chance the distance between the ballheads is identical from SR to V400 - if they are, you can swap. If you swap including the rods you have to be aware, that you lose build height (the rods of the SR should be shorter compared to the rods of the V400). Also the weight changes, which also may bring the one or the other issue. If you want to do it, because you want to tinker / fiddle around with Hardware (which I completely understand) - I think it would be a cool project. If you think this is a simple conversion which will make your SR printing a larger variety of filaments... I would say "dont do it". Hard to recommend from afar... Many thanks again for this.. Problems I am having..after the upgrade, which I did twice just in case I missed something..The extruder would not heat up. I downloaded from V400 the new printer.cfg which fixed that problem. Problems I have now are no wed cam but the most important one is after slicing a file in Cura and sending it to the printer, it will not open the file. Is there something in one of the cfg files that needs changing. I am a Linux user so code I can do to a degree.. Any thoughts or a fix would be great thanks.
2 things, 1- where do you find the speeder pad restoration file 1.2? and 2- if you already have firmware 1.4, can you still go through this process (to basically downgrade) to have root?
@@marcosluismunoz975 I am not an expert in klipper or 3D printers, but from what I have been finding out, 1.4 is not compatible with the ssh system or something like that, therefore the username and password cannot be obtained, I saw on a reddit that it worked with user :pi password: flsun, but I'm trying to install crowsnets, it doesn't work, good luck and if you find out something, please let me know.

I have the same issue. Meanwhile, the script "./KlipperScreen/scripts/KlipperScreen-install.sh" works after a while I lose the SSH connection. The speeder pad is no longer seen on the wifi network even.😥
I'm having the same problem and the USB cable isn't connected to the printer. Each time I try, I have to install everything again. Is it the same for you? @neospog @ChadLower

Ich würde auch gerne auf mein v400 ein richtiges klipper machen, aber wenn ich das so sehe und bis jetzt gelesen habe, verstehe ich nur Bahnhof und bekomme schlechte Laune, so das ich erst gar kein bock mehr habe anzufangen. Giebt es eine Möglichkeit oder Anleitungen die verstendlicher und auf deutsch ist ganz easy Schritt für Schritt, habe keine lust anzufangen und am Ende geht nix mehr 😢 brauche dringend deine hilfe 😩🙏

Many thanks again for this.. Problems I am having..after the upgrade, which I did twice just in case I missed something..The extruder would not heat up. I downloaded from V400 the new printer.cfg which fixed that problem. Problems I have now are no wed cam but the most important one is after slicing a file in Cura and sending it to the printer, it will not open the file. Is there something in one of the cfg files that needs changing. I am a Linux user so code I can do to a degree.. Any thoughts or a fix would be great thanks.
2 things, 1- where do you find the speeder pad restoration file 1.2? and 2- if you already have firmware 1.4, can you still go through this process (to basically downgrade) to have root?
1. Inside the guide under "Restore OS Image File" you will find the download link 2. Yes you can and have to do that.

@@marcosluismunoz975 I am not an expert in klipper or 3D printers, but from what I have been finding out, 1.4 is not compatible with the ssh system or something like that, therefore the username and password cannot be obtained, I saw on a reddit that it worked with user :pi password: flsun, but I'm trying to install crowsnets, it doesn't work, good luck and if you find out something, please let me know.

i used 64 GB successfully!!
i had to use MiniTool partition wizard with default allocation size BUT using MBR instead of GPT and i just created 256mb directory and left the rest unallocated.

Thanks for your comment, very appreciated! I think I have already read about the logo somewhere... iirc this was not too difficult. I will check and see if I can do a quick video on that one. I hope I dont mix it up. In case I find out it is not that simple, I will answer you here (you can also remember me in case it takes too long - up to now I read all my comments and also answer them all).

@craftingmat5425 I'm having trouble with Klipper screen crashing during install losing ssh connection now my speeder pad is frozen.
I have the same issue. Meanwhile, the script "./KlipperScreen/scripts/KlipperScreen-install.sh" works after a while I lose the SSH connection. The speeder pad is no longer seen on the wifi network even.😥
I think my problem was that I had the speeder pad connected to the printer. I removed the usb cable and issue went away.@@neospog
I'm having the same problem and the USB cable isn't connected to the printer. Each time I try, I have to install everything again. Is it the same for you? @neospog @ChadLower

Hey ho erstmal, ich habe dich mit dem Video in einem forum gefunden und hier gelandet. Ich würde auch gerne auf mein v400 ein richtiges klipper machen, aber wenn ich das so sehe und bis jetzt gelesen habe, verstehe ich nur Bahnhof und bekomme schlechte Laune, so das ich erst gar kein bock mehr habe anzufangen. Giebt es eine Möglichkeit oder Anleitungen die verstendlicher und auf deutsch ist ganz easy Schritt für Schritt, habe keine lust anzufangen und am Ende geht nix mehr 😢 brauche dringend deine hilfe 😩🙏
dont forget to set date by : hwclock --set --date "dd mmm yyyy HH:MM" or get update cant work, and python get SSL error
