  • This is a video about a very talented and in my opinion underrated singer and musician. He fronted the band Mud and had a very successful time with them through the seventies. Gone too soon.

Les Gray was a very good singer and frontman; a real entertainer. Every year I force relatives to watch 'Lonely this Christmas', cause it's one of my favorite Christmas songs. Love the spoken bridge part, where he really struggled to Lip Sync. Like Sweet, they to departed to soon from Chinn & Chapman, in my opinion. I think they could have evolved more from their Bubble Gum Image, because they were such a great Live Band. Sad that he fell ill so bad: R.I.P.

He lived not far from me in the Algarve, there is a Sunday morning DJ on Kiss FM who says he was the drummer with them but i have never heard of him.

Mud weren't underrated. They sold millions of records in the UK and Europe, and are still going today with the founding members Ray Stiles and Rob Davis. They just weren't appreciated in the US and Canada.

Could just be YT and their copyright policy that is preventing a bit of Mud. Best Dave
