I couldn't help but notice your comment. I wish you much success. I've started learning so I can pay for medical expenses. This is a wonderful gift (the tutorials) for someone to give freely. There's a handful of ladies I follow for these type tutorials and they're wonderful. This was very difficult to get even braids with my arthritis but I'm not giving up... just not going to use silver wire again until I can do better. Anyway, again, I hope this has helped you tremendously and that you've found a home. Many blessings to you. 🙂
That's super great to read. We'll done. I am total beginner I am learning from scratch one to enjoy and release some stress and two to earn a little income from hopefully a new passion as I already adore jewellery
LOVE your videos.....clear, precise, beautiful end result without adding a life story or unnecessary chatting! Finally, someone who "gets it"....thanks so much.
I am having such fun with your videos! They are wonderful as you post clearly the supplies needed, mention other options and are so easy to follow. I have made your items for Christmas gifts as I had supplies on hand. Thank you!
I watched your video, part one and two. I made it today and I already have someone who wants me to make one for them. Thanks for being a good teacher. : )
Hi Jocelyn, I just wanted to thank you for your tutorials, I have been very intimidated about trying wire work until I saw one of your videos, you are a very good teacher. Please keep them coming
Love your videos You explain so much and slowly so we understand how to follow you. Your videos are so clear, your angle to see what you are doing and close up. Thank You
It really is interesting to have a look at how everyday life was in the past and I certainly take joy in finding out about this topic. Thank you so much for submitting this.
Hi Jocelyn I made this bracelet and it turned out beautiful and I'm pleased to say that whenever I wear it, I am told how lovely it is,asked where did I buy it and quite a few have asked me to make them one, or one for a gift for someone. It seems this design is admired by all ages. I entered this bracelet and a very intricate necklace into a competition. My necklace came 2nd and my bracelet came 1st. The judge left a comment 'so beautiful yet so simple, you must be very proud'. I am pleased to say I am very proud of my bracelet and the many I have made since. Thank you Jocelyn for sharing this design, your work is very rewarding to us who are still learning.
+Norma Coy I do hope you credited Jocelyn with the design. It is hers, and as a result, it is *her* copyright, and you don't have any right to submit it to a competition as your own, unless you have substantially modified it, but you did not indicate doing so. Absolutely no right at all. Copyright violations are *theft*! And passing it off as your own work in a competition no less... well, there are simply no words at all for the sheer audacity of that. It is completely outrageous. It's bad enough to sell stolen designs without at least crediting the designer, but this...! Unbelievable, simply unbelievable! It's even more incredible you'd even actually have the gall to brag of your theft right to the designer! Because obviously you did *not* credit her, or there is no way any ethical judge anywhere on the planet would have ever given you a prize for the piece, much less the kind comments. They would have disqualified you, and probably never let you enter that competition again. That prize actually belongs to Jocelyn, and if you have any integrity at all, you will now ensure that it is transferred to her and the record set straight with whomever sponsored that competition. When people steal other people's work like this, it is not only theft of intellectual property, but such behavior serves as a huge disincentive to artists like Jocelyn who are tremendously generous to continue sharing their designs. You may be inspired by her designs, but if you and others are going to steal them like you did, unless she gave specific permission, then why on earth would she want to keep sharing them? When you are "inspired" by a design, that means you use it as a *starting* point to develop your own variation or completely different work that may share some elements. It doesn't mean you copy it exactly and pass it off as entirely your own, *especially* in a competition. Oh, and don't bother deleting your comment, if that is even possible on UA-cam. The Internet has already preserved it for posterity in ways you could probably never track down, but plenty of others still could, easily.
wendyannh that’s jumping the gun a little, very very harsh judgment on your behalf! ‘Copying’ (if we must call it that) is the basis of ALL art in all mediums. That’s what we (*humans) do. We COPY each other. It’s absolutely impossible for anyone to perfectly replicate another’s piece of work/art unless computer integrated machinery is used. I see no theft here, but I saw a lot of gratitude. Sadly there was also a lot of attitude. Chill the hell out ferrchrissakes Wendy!!
Why on earth would 8 people put the thumbs down, you morons!! that is one of the prettiest of bracelets i have ever seen!! what a talented lady you are!! xx
Thank you so much for this clear demonstration for the 5-strand braid technique. It was easy to follow and understand. Thank you for another excellent video! 😊
Thank you so much! Your videos are so informative and simple to follow. I have already made several pieces following your tutorials! I've been beading for years, but stayed away from wire work because I thought it was too complicated. You have shown me I was sooooo wrong! : ) I'm loving the new versatility of the wire. Thank again!
I took this one and went and made a two color 5strand using 15 strands of wire so I could put the color in between the silver for each of my 5strands. It came out very nice. Thanks for the videos.
Hey Jocelyn! Thanks a lot for taking all the effort to share this knowledge. It's just awesome and you make everything look very simple and doable. Taking inspiration from you, I have also started trying my hands on jewelry making.
I love her tutorials, but want to add just a few tips I've learned from my own experience: 1) You can do this with 20 gauge wire, but it's much harder to make the turns uniform, since that gauge is so much more flexible. 2) Follow her lead and make the adjustments as you form the braid. You might think you can wait and adjust when the bracelet is nearly finished, but that doesn't work well because when you tighten one area, the adjacent ones automatically loosen. 3) Adding more Swarovski crystals makes for a more glamorous product, but you need to be careful to be consistent with the spacing.
Hi Jocelyn thanks for your answer! I had no idea about looking at the description! That's very helpful! Hahaha I feel so crunchy! !! Lol silly me but thank you again.
Thank you so much for the wonderful tutorial. I am a elderly beginner. So my dumb question is "When you use your tools to straighten or move the wire, do you use a very light touch? I think I am using too much pressure, because I mark the wire. I appreciate your help.
Superb work. Please can you let me know what kind of wire you used? I'm in gulf country and i found only Galvanized Wire but I think it won't work coz it's becoming black fast. Thanks for share ur superb ideas.
love your tutorial and it really is a simple braid to do..however my very first try was bit of a mess..but I won't give up! I might have to try with cord as I suffer from fibromyalgia I find wire work very sore on fingers..be much easier if there was a wrig to work with..is their such a thing?
Jocelyn, I love your creations !! ...I did this bracelet with copper in different colors for practice, its beautiful...but now, I want to try it with silver filled, but I couldn't find it, I will try it with sterling silver, which one will work better, dead soft or half hard ? and also : 20 gauge its ok ? ....Thanks !! :)
Can't wait to get started on this project. Will 20 gauge wire greatly change the look or steadiness of the bracelet? Have you done 7 or 9 strands yet? Love your tutorials, very informative and professional!

I just subscribe to you channel. This bracelet is so cute you make it look so easy I will most likely get all wrapped up. Thank you for sharing I'm just starting so I hope you make some easies.
Hi Jocelyn, Beautiful bracelet! And very happy to hear your voice back! I was wondering whether I could use a 20 gauge wire instead of the 18 gauge, or would the bracelet miss some stiffness and become flimsy? Thanks for your advice!
You have done a great job with the video. It has been fun to make these. I have a question though. When I make it with soft wire the bracelet is too soft and it catches on things and pulls out of shape. Do you have a suggestion for this? Do I try it using half hard wire?
+Marilyn Everton Also try hammering the piece with a rawhide or plastic mallet on a bracelet mandrel. That will work harden the piece without changing the shape of the wire. It shouldn't give you any trouble after that.
I would love to see a tutorial on how to avoid tool marks. Some of my clients actually look for them, because if they don't see them, they don't think it's really hand made. Others look because they don't want tool marks. I do a pretty good job of either preventing or jiding tool marks, but I know there are a lot of people who would benefit from such a tutorial.
I have tried "educating" them, however, there are some very stubborn people who insist that it can't be hand made if it's perfect. While I agree with you, there is simply no changing some people's minds and a couple are literally my bread and butter. Thanks for the tip about Tool Magic. I'll look it up.
Terri Landry I use sterling silver and tool marks are rare for me. Maybe film making the jewellery so they can watch or take some pictures of you making the item that you can show the doubters 😀
I'm just finding this video and this will be my first project that I'm going to attempt. At the end of the video, it says continue the braid then "come back." Is there a part 2 to this about how to finish the ends?
Hi Andrea! There is a part 2 :) The link is in the video description, or you can access it here: ua-cam.com/video/X6yCH-xRS6w/v-deo.html I hope you enjoy your first project!
Hi I love this it's so pretty! I was wanting to make this or try but I was wanting to know the silver filled wire you are using is it hard or soft or half I'm not sure which one I need to get. T
Hi Jocelyn I was also wanting to know do you have a video on making the swirls? I'm just starting on learning, so there is a lot I don't know and a lot I need to know. Any tips or help would be greatly needed and appreciated thanks so much.
Thanks for the interesting video. I tried the bracelet and it wasn't really super easy as it turned out rather uneven but all in all not that bad. Do you mean plaiting by braiding? Looks like you're plaiting :).
+Jocelyn D. Oh, I'll keep on trying. I'm sure the next bracelet will be much better. I spose it's all a matter of practice. My first viking knit chains didn't turn out the way I wanted them to. But now, after having made dozens of them, they're perfect. Thanks again for the video - it's really a nice piece of work. Have a nice day :).
my masking tape makes the wire sticky is there a way to take the sticky off without hurting the wire? what would you suggest I do. Would a ring clamp work?
OMG it ALWAYS still surprises me at the asses who click the thumbs down button on videos where someone is taking their time to teach others.. Sorry for the rant it's just so annoying!!! I see this is an old video but wanted to say this is an awesome video and I am going to give this one a try. I love the way you finish the ends. Most people use the ribbon clip ends and I really don't like those. No reason..lol I just don't like the way they look.. Thanks!
I'm homeless I've learned how to do this so I can support myself thanks for your lessons
I hope u get all the success

Silicone coated pliers, are brilliant for shaping spirals and coils from wire too , and for straightening and hardening wire x
Beautiful bracelet and your tutorial is so clear. Makes it look simple. Thank you.
I watched your video, part one and two. I made it today and I already have someone who wants me to make one for them. Thanks for being a good teacher. : )
THE BRACELET THAT YOU ARE MAKING IS REALLY PRETTY. THE LIGHT OF YOUR CAMERA MAKES THE WIRE LOOKS LIKE SILVER AND GOLD JUST THOUGHT I WOULD LET YOU NO
To avoid marks, wrap some masking tape at end of your tools x

I LOVE this and can't wait to try it! I'm thinking of doing it in copper and then dipping it in liver of sulphur to antique it.
Thanks so much for this jewelry lesson! Easy to understand even for beginners like me.

try putting some heat shrink tubing on the tools

kittyCat Furbabies cool idea. I was trying to figure that out too
Great tip! Thanks : )
Never even thought of that! Good idea! Thank you!
綺麗ですね✨
Amazing work!
waiting for your next creation !!! :)
Thank you for sharing it's awesome
So beautiful!
Great tutorial Thank you for sharing
wow that is so pretty!!!!!
I love these bracelets..I found different color wires and beads and am having a blast making them. Thank you and it is such a simple pattern. :)
Hello! I tried to weave this but it turned out very crooked! Do you have tips on getting it a little bit more even?
i love the bracelet
do you think half hard wire would work for this? or just dead soft?
Could you provide a link to the exact wire you are using? I tried to find it and not sure I have the right one. Thanks :)
Love the tutorial, thanks.
Are there any other places you can get the wire? And everything else? Would a craft store work?
+Annalisa K yes
Is gorgeous i loved it
you are an amazing person
wow thats super cool
Hello ! I'm belgian and I ask me how many a gauge makes cm to diameter?
Thank you !
Ps : Scuse me for my English, I begin since september....
***** Thank you very much !
☆☆☆☆☆ As always!! Thank you for sharing your talents!
Hi! where we can buy these gems? Thank you! love your video!!!
Jocelyn, please may I ask how you get the wire so straight.
Thank you :-)
my masking tape makes the wire sticky is there a way to take the sticky off without hurting the wire? what would you suggest I do. Would a ring clamp work?
cheri lapoint to remove masking tape from most wires aka non plated wire use lighter fluid. If you are using plated or color wire test first!
OMG it ALWAYS still surprises me at the asses who click the thumbs down button on videos where someone is taking their time to teach others.. Sorry for the rant it's just so annoying!!! lindos y buenos tutoriales....... hayudan bastante....
Is the wire dea -soft or half-hard. Need to know when I order?? Thanks for your help
Dead soft
Stunning! Xx
You said your using silver filled, is it dead soft or half hard?
How is your wire so straight? I need help.
I know!! My wires always end up bent and crazy looking
Mini Pewdiepie I tell my wire to straighten up or I will pull the car over and spank them
Mini Pewdiepie yes how do you keep your wire so straight .
