I own an L1A1 SLR rifle I have built myself. The problem I have found is that the screw to steady the front post is that during firing. The screw walks out after 15 rounds.I have replaced it with a tighter screw and a little bit of blue Loc Tite and eliminated that wandering zero.I zero my rifle at 100M then finalize at 300M for final zero of my rifle.Quite a fabulous rifle in addition to my Israeli style rifle. It shoots like an M16/AR-15 with a 7.62 NATO ammunition.
Nice video - brings back memories of our shooting program call Shoot to Live here in Canada, many days on the range with the FN and cleaning that dam gas plug. Thank you for sharing.
My memories of DMS boots, 1,burning the pimples off with a hot spoon, 2,great at causing blisters, 3, the unusual ability to soak gallons of water up.......rapidly, 4, shrinking when drying them out, apart from that they were really shit lol
The backsight used to chip the right lenses of my glasses. Wrapping a small elastic band round the base of the sight might have prevented it but of course it wasn't permitted.
Bet the guy with weapon 334 won the CO's stickman plenty of times when mounting guard duty, if you had the lighter shade of DPM like his you were bang on to get it, you were fucked if both pairs of combat were the darker shade.......... like mine were
Must be the guy who couldnt qualify with his rifle. We call that in the US Army a "Bolo"meaning he needs a Bolo machete instead of a rifle to hit his target.
my FAL had a long stock so I could ether look through the sight or have the but in my shoulder but not both , also my sights could not be adjusted and so my sights was about 2m to the wright of my target and 3m low , also if loaded to more then 16 rounds most of my magazines would malfunction
40 years and I still remember LOL
Thanks for posting these. I now feel very old ! lol the good old days ! !
DMS, Puttees, SLR, Fig 11, All great memories. SAA instructor seems like a nice understanding chap, can't remember any of mine being like that.
Yea I think he MUST be an actor, he doesn't appear to be booting anyone in the ribs for leaving a pouch undone!
LOL, Good old days
