Thing is the people from the villages that join the ANA have no loyalty they can be fighting with the coalition, then the next day they're gone and fighting for the taliban for money.
They're in extreme poverty because the government treat them like European colonists treated Africans and Native Americans so yeah. No education, ignored and supressed, deliberately excluded via corruption from voting... and so forth. It's a perspective one might not be completely lacking of sympathy or understanding for. Basically: The task unit's task was supposed to help the Afghans being able to govern themselves, but they just don't want to help themselves. It's obstacle at every turn. So the whole situation is in a deadlock.

90% if all combat videos I’ve seen they never know where the shots are coming from and start shooting in every direction. Seems logical to sit tight until you’re hundredpercent sure where it’s coming from.
You are suposed to shoot at the general direction of the enemy because the enemy has no way to know if you see them, it's just returning fire. If you just stay still waiting untill you actually see someone they will close on you and take the change so surround you. You need to make them believe you know where they are until you actually do.
Don Anator you can either dump all you ammunition or wait patiently to be killed, it's your choice. Don't forget that shooting in the general direction is just a temporary mesure, just keep the enemy guessing while you reposition in a safer place or locate them. You should just shoot 2 - 3 bullets each time, not full-auto the entire magazine, so you can shoot a couple times and take a look because maybe you actually hit near an enemy and they may retreat/reposition and then you know where they are. There's no point in discussing this this people have been training for years, they sure know what they're doing.
