I'm the same way and I can't believe you used the battery analogy! I've been explaining myself that way to my loved ones for years. When I met the women of my dreams ( my wife), I told her that when I'm with her, I feel like I'm alone; which is a good thing. She doesn't drain my "battery" at all. Not baggage, pretense or forced behavior.
