    I have 9800x3d + X870 Crosshair Hero, I had a lot of instability with Corsair RAM's, even though they are listed in the manufacturer's QVL list. Crashes during reboots with error code 0d, orange light (which apparently concerns the RAM). So I opted for the G-Skills Trident Z5 NEO CL30 (30-40-40-96) and everything seems stable since.

      I have the same kit as yours, I had a lot of trouble with this error code 0d, after doing a lot of research I discovered that it was nonsense, if you have installed aida64 or hwinfo this error occurs, so uninstalling was the end of my problems.

      I can't stand Corsair RAM. Personally they are the worst.

    What is your opinion on this memory kit? KD5BGUA80-60A300G

      Klevv falls under the sk hynix umbrella, i haven't used it but it seems like it would be good. I don't think 7200 is a good speed because on amd it will be 2:1 divider. But if you want it to tune down to 6400 or 6200 it's probably a decent kit for the price. Will take alot of manual tuning though.

    They're probably the exact same memory chip and layout, just binned different -- if so, you should and could get pretty much identical timings.
    It doesn't look like you're setting your other timings -- maybe shoot for a tighter bassline on those as it's all the secondary and tertiary timings that have bigger impacts. CAS Latency really doesn't matter near as much as many other timings, and your timings look kinda Auto.
    Keep an eye on voltages, there are a few you could tinker with too that may reduce latency, increase performance, and stability. IMO lower voltages tend to run faster, until they don't.

      On this video I just ran expo because the 6000 kit was delayed due to a storm and I was heading out of town for work this week. On the 6400cl30 I tightened all of the timings and it had great results. I think either kit could easily do 6000cl26 or 6400cl28 with everything tightened up. I got a pretty aggressive 6400cl28 at 1.45v on the 6400cl30 kit. When I get back in town I'm going to explore these two kits more on my 9800x3d.

    Through testing quite a few 9800x3d builds so far I want to caution strongly against 6400 if you want memclk=uclk and you want an even divider of fclk also. Almost everyone can get their systems to boot at 6400 with 2200fclk and you run a couple games and you think it's good but its not you realize a couple days later ycruncher crashes in seconds and star citizen dies in 30 seconds or less. Super Safe is 6000 cl28 fclk 2000 with basic tighter timings and latency killer option turned on for the MB. Also curve optimizer somewhere between -25 and -15 depending on the CPU quality. You should get Aida 63 or 64ns. More aggressive is 6200 cl28 or cl30 fclk 2066 other settings same as above. More than this on most cpus is usually not completely stable but most people don't test adequately.

    • @JohnnyRage303
      @JohnnyRage303  9 днів тому

      It's definitely not guaranteed, 6400 and 2200 is much more unlikely, high soc voltage required for the memory controller leads to problems with fclk. I think 6400 and the 2133 flk keeps the 2:3 ratio and is more likely to work than 2200. If i can't get a system stable at 6400, 6200 2066 is a great option. Under any of these circumstances I would set cl28 and tighten the timings shooting for 1.45v. Either one of these kits would support all of those strategies.

    Can you load optimized settings then load Expo to get it to take? You may loose other settings you have by doing that though.

      Yeah tried that. I finally put a xmp kit in then back to expo to get it to recognized it changed. Was just a silly setback.

      That's a good setup. 6200cl28 at 1.4 is solid. I honestly think that's the way most people should go. I've been really lucky with 6400 myself though.

    I dont understand why ppl complain about high frequency RAM on AM5 plataform. I have a 9950x SP 118 and 8000 kit CL38 doing 60ns latency. If you have another 6000 ir 7600 low latency they perform almost identical, but obviosly it Will depende what resolution you play

    • @boestube5805
      @boestube5805 9 днів тому

      Just a normal boot. I used Buildzoid’s settings from his video “G.Skill 2x16GB DDR5-8000 CL34! Ryzen 9800X3D ASUS Crosshair X870E Hero,” but instead of using CL34 at 1.65V, I went with CL36 at 1.45V. Buildzoid also used the Nitro settings in the BIOS. It’ll be interesting to see how these settings work for you, so let us know!

      @boestube5805 i see alot of people saying xmp tweaked, but in asus documentation it states it tightens timings if known profiles are available. If you manually setting the timing does this do anything? Do you know?

      @boestube5805 9 днів тому

      @JohnnyRage303 Good point. To be honest, I don’t think XMP Tweaked makes much or if any difference at all if you’re manually adjusting timings. Thanks for bringing that up.

    i dont get why gskill makes all these weird low latency kits, i just bought a F5-8000J3848H16GX2-TZ5RK and tuned it manually, sadly my 9800x3d is dogshit and can't do 6400 but these sticks could do 6200 cc26 36 36 30 422 trfc maxed trefi every other setting tightened as much as i could. the only plus with the low latency kits i could see is a normie just setting expo but theres a high chance those kinda expo's don't work

    • @JohnnyRage303
      @JohnnyRage303  10 днів тому

    If you have a 9800X3D and a X870 motherboard 6400MT/s CL30 RAM is the only way to go. Now if you can get it in CL28 then I'll go for it.

    • @JohnnyRage303
      @JohnnyRage303  10 днів тому +1

      I agree my 6400cl30 kit was 1.4v and I was able to get it to cl28 and tigher timings at 1.45v they are nice kits i didn't have time to test it but I bet you can do the exact same on the 6000cl28

    • @jamesm568
      @jamesm568 10 днів тому

      @JohnnyRage303 The thing about 6400 MT/s RAM is you can push it just a little bit more where you're at the maximum of the 1:1 ratio.

  • @tankman66
    @tankman66 10 днів тому

    You probably need to clear the cmos. It should show the right kit in the bios. If not, you may need to update your bios firmware, since it's possible these new kits are not yet on the qvl list for your motherboard or the current bios version you have. I agree with you though, they probably are very similar to the 6400 cl30s.
