I am using an Xpro1 with 24mm manual lens and Fuji zoom lenses, and with the pending release of Fuji 23mm lens I don't have to buy either X100 or X70. This option is so much cheaper yet versatile, and you are getting a top class camera body.
For me personally, I need to put that camera up to my eye. Holding my arms out to view the screen is cumbersome and doesn't feel as steady as the classic elbows-in stance. If even a simple plastic viewfinder were implemented to keep cost and price down, that would make it sufficiently purchasable.
Enjoyed this comparison video. I had a chance to play around with an X100 and enjoyed the hybrid viewfinder. Both cameras look great. I will make my final decision after I get a chance to try out an X70.
I would be very interested in hearing about what cameras you both personally use and what styles you like to shoot - a type of "what's in my bag" video :) I enjoy your videos immensely
Great review guys. Obviously, the next x100 need to do more than what the x70 can do to justify that price difference. Hopefully it will also have the digital tele-converter that the x70 has.
+Mathieu Gasquet (MirrorLessons) I agree! as well, the battery indicator need to be changed to (%) percent type, and they should do something about the waxy skin effect. Small things which I'm sure can be remedied by a software update.
hi,the x70 made me switch completely to Fuji XT1, indeed it is a great shame the x70 isn't weatherproof. It would be the first quality compact street shooter that owned that premium quality ! maybe the x70ii? I use it a lot on the streets. I previously owned the GR too but that didnt have the tilting screen. X70 feels more solid, and of course great jpegs. kind regards peter
+Mathieu Gasquet (MirrorLessons) but wouldn't it be awesome? being Street means in all kind of conditions roaming your surroundings, keep my fingers crossed.. :-)
I have had a couple of LCD screen cameras. In bright sunlight they are useless, can't see a thing on the screen. The optical accessory on the x700 cost $200 USD. Outrageous! Doesn't anyone else have a problem with LCD screens in bright sunlight?
Hmm... 35mm vs. 28mm. Viewfinder vs. tilty & selfie screen. Big price difference. Very nice review. I used to own an X100T which is a great travel camera, but I found the faster focusing of the Sony A6000 won me over,. Even though the A6000 is a bigger camera, it still fits into my coat pocket. I do miss the film simulations on the Fuji though. They were beautiful and well-integrated into the camera. How would you rate your experience focusing with these cameras?
I have the X70, Flip screen is BETTER than X100t for street, more compact and less money. Advantage to X100T - f2.0 lens, ND filter, EVF....Still pictures from X70 just as good as X100T....buy used on ebay all these cameras and save much!
Even though the x70 isn't intended for wildlife can it function well for that purpose? I'm going to Belize and want to know if it would keep up with some jungle exploration. Sounds like it'll work for the Mayan ruins but not sure it'll hold up in the jungle aspect
I wish Fuji would give us an affordable 24 mp camera for travel and landscape photography. I mainly shoot landscape, but I didn't like the XT1 raw images in Lightroom, horrible details and smudging. I can't justify the XT2 just for landscape considering how expensive it is, anyone have thoughts on this??
Nice video ! Do you think the X70 has a better image quality than a sony a6000 with a SEL20F28 lens ? I hesitate to buy either the x70 or just the 28mm lens for my a6000...
Concerning the sensor, the IQ is very close. You get more details with the a6000 (more megapixel) and slightly better performance at high ISO because you are not limited to JPG only past 6400 ISO. I prefer the color profiles of the X70 though. As for the lens, I don't know the SEL20F28 lens so I can't really compare.
Hi Mathieu, I follow your channel and like it a lot. Actually your channel triggered my interest in the Fujifilm X cameras. Today I am using the Olympus OMD EM10 with some prime lenses. The Fujifilm X100S is interesting. I have downloaded some RAW images and processed them in Capture One program. Wow, I was simply blown away by the quality! I have started to look for second hand X100S, and here come some questions - There is a very big difference between the price of a mint second hand X100S and the prices of both X100T and X100F. Is there such a big difference in image quality? Are all the new feachers really that important and justify the price difference? How better, if at all, the bigger sensor of the X100F is? What is is your opinion about the X70 as a cheaper alternative to the X100S? Many thanks for your input and keep on the good work!
Hi Rony, the X100s and X100T use the same sensor so the IQ is the same. The X100T has some extra features like the ERF (Electronic Range Finder), Classic Chrome profile, electronic shutter, more custom buttons, USB charhing and some minor cosmetic changes. The differences with the X100F are more significant because there is a new sensor (24MP) and AF system. You can see a full comparison we wrote here: mirrorlesscomparison.com/fujifilm-vs-fujifilm/x100t-vs-x100f/ The X100F is the best yet in the series but the price is higher. If you can find a second hand X100s or X100T, you will save a good amount of money. I prefer the X100 series to the X70 for personal reasons (I like to use a viewfinder and prefer the 35mm equivalent field of view).
Would you buy the X70 or the Sony RX100 as an "always with me" camera and for street shooting? I understand the feature differences, I'm asking about A. usability, the Sony does more but seems too fiddly, and B. image quality given the different sensors.
The X70 is more user friendly, especially if you like to use manual exposure and control different settings. The RX100 is designed as a point and shoot camera really. The X70 sensor will give you more dynamic range but the 1inch sensor of the Sony defends itself quite well if you shoot RAW.
+Mathieu Gasquet If you had to choose between the RX100 3 or the G7x 2 by Canon, which one would you choose? Which has better image quality, dynamic range, and RAW files?
Mathieu Gasquet tutto bene, grazie... Stavo navigando tra i tuoi video.... Complimenti. Da appassionato di fotografia stavo guardando video sulle mirrorless in vista di un futuro acquisto e ti ho trovato... Mi sa che ti chiederò un paio di pareri!!!
Solid comparison you two, very thorough. Glad the camera survived the "nasty fall on the cold hard concrete".
I'm glad too :D

Another substantial difference is... the X70 is made in China, the X100-T in Japan...
So what is the real difference?
love the style of reviewing! excellent channel, please keep sharing more content!
Compared with cannon g7x mark 2 and Fuji x70 which one would u go for ?
Thank you so much. I really like this type of review of two cameras. I currently have the X100S, and the X-T10.
Great video, short and to the point. Very informative.
Well done. I've owned the X100T and have the X70 on order.
Which do you like more? I am currently trying to decide
Enjoyed this comparison video. I had a chance to play around with an X100 and enjoyed the hybrid viewfinder. Both cameras look great. I will make my final decision after I get a chance to try out an X70.
What was it? I am currently facing the same dilemma
I love the x70 for it's tilt and touch screen.
I would be very interested in hearing about what cameras you both personally use and what styles you like to shoot - a type of "what's in my bag" video :) I enjoy your videos immensely
Hard to say because we always end-up using the camera we are testing :)
+Mathieu Gasquet (MirrorLessons) hehe I would probably do the same :) Maybe your often used focal lengths or lenses?
That would probably be easier ;)
Excelente video! Me sirvió. Muchas gracias

Hopefully the new 24MP sensor as well.

Somehow I doubt they will make a weather sealed X70 ii. Even the X100 series is not weather sealed.
+Mathieu Gasquet (MirrorLessons) but wouldn't it be awesome? being Street means in all kind of conditions roaming your surroundings, keep my fingers crossed.. :-)
Yes it would be nice. Maybe they can make an X70 "tough" edition :)

Hi! Great review!
Are you going to make a review on the new XF10? I'm wondering how it's perform comparing to X70, as X70 is quite soft wide open.
Hmm... 35mm vs. 28mm. Viewfinder vs. tilty & selfie screen. Big price difference. Very nice review. I agree that the a6000 is faster. The X70 comes second and is sligthly faster than the X100T.
I have the X70, Flip screen is BETTER than X100t for street, more compact and less money. Advantage to X100T - f2.0 lens, ND filter, EVF....Still pictures from X70 just as good as X100T....buy used on ebay all these cameras and save much!
Edward smith hi how are you? How much is X70? I want to buy one. I'm learning photography. Thanks.
I just pick one up in Silver 10/10 condition with 3800 Shutter Count for $575, is that a good price?
Which camera are you talking about?

You would not be able to get close enough with the X70 on many occasions I think.
thank you very much for this comparison it really help me a lot. is it ok if i use an external view finder to x70? does it have any lag issues??
The optional VF for the X70 is an optical viewfinder so there is no lag.
7:14 couldn't exactly hear what you were saying, what camera was it again?
X-T2

Rumours talk about an X-T20 with same 24MP sensor to be very announced soon.
Nice video, what strap is that on the x100t?
It's the Nucis Vintage Leather wrist strap

I don't have experience with the G7X II so I can't really tell which one is best.
Leather Strap at 0.39. Where can I get it from?
It's the The Nucis Vintage Leather wrist strap
