Thank you so much for this video, you have explained things so clearly and well ! I am a novice clothing sewer and I am confident now to go try to adjust my ill fitting pattern :) Thanks !
Great tutorial, thanks! I am pattern testing a coat right now and I can't tell if I should stay in the same size (first fit version was waaaay too tight at shoulders and all else was good) and just do a broad back adjustment, OR, jump up to a bigger size. My upper bust measurement and shoulder measurement are several sizes different. 😆 Anyone who wants to chime in, I'm all ears!!😄
Thank you so much!! I have such a hard time finding coats and coat patterns that fit my shoulders and my arms. Now I get to go back in to adjust my patterns, I can’t wait to try it again
Thank you for this video! My tunic pattern fit nicely across the front but the upper back felt tight. I'm going to sew up another muslin to see if I did this correctly.
Thank you for this! This was very helpful. I have noticed that when I get a good fit on a pattern, the back is tight when I reach forward. I think this is my issue!
Thanks for this tutorial, I have a weird combination of narrow shoulders and a broad back, should I do a narrow shoulder adjustment before a broad back adjustment on a bodice pattern?
My pattern back across measurements 8 1/4 which is 16 1/2. I need it to be 19 1/2. I need to add 3 inches. Do I do it the same way because it a big amount to add.
I know this video is very old. I was watching for the narrow back adjustment but it isn’t in the video. I have broad shoulders and a narrow back so it always looks like I’m swimming in fabric from the mid to lower back.
Hi - thanks so much for this, I've realized this is the adjustment that I need. I just have a question. If I am making a coat with a back yoke (ellesworth coat) - do I stick these pieces together minus seam allowance and treat it as a single back piece when working out the adjustment? And then transfer the changes to the individual pieces? Thanks for all your wonderful tutorials, I have just subscribed & looking forward to your other tutorials. Thanks for such clear and generous sharing of your knowledge.
Amazing timeless tutorial: clear, on point yet detailed enough, incredibly helpful!
Quick and clear, the best kind of tutorials! Thanks so much for this
This is exactly the fix I was looking for! Thanks again Alexandra, for another spot on video!
The best tutorials I have found! You make it so easy to understand! Thank you!!!
Thx so much for this explanation. This is just what I needed. I'm a senior. We get broader in the back as we get older.

Also, I might have missed it, but does your piece include seam allowance?

I also was disappointed that the narrow back adjustment was not demonstrated.
You didn’t show for a narrow back :(

Robyn Jury yes, that will work!
How I would wish u were near to help me fine tune my blouse pattern. What to u is a mole hill is too me a mountain.
Hai mam.u r from which place?
Ur classes r too good. Can I learn from u?
After making this adjustment IS THERE ANY NEED TO ALTER THE SLEEVE in anyway?
