Of all the songs to take from Tekken 5, how'd you not pick moonlit wilderness?

Would've loved the soul blade/edge intro in the list. Cool tekken had picks in here though.
i'm surprised and delighted SNK has as much rep as it has on the list but KOF12 is such a weird pick. the music is good but man did nothing else come out that year
Raito is such a good composer. One of the big reasons I'm looking forward to UNI2 is his soundtrack. Also nice to see Tobal OST get some recognition. Lots of bangers in that game.
Under Night has the best OSTs in the industry I swear...

Plenty good ones in the game though. The helipad stage with the rain always seemed dramatic to me. Also, the forest with the pond is really relaxing.

I always liked the eclectic soundtracks to the Darkstalkers series. While the second game, Night Warriors, had the closest to the high energy mid-90s electronic sound of fighting game stages with the remixes, the original often had slow-tempo’d tracks not typically found in fighters. However, Vampire Savior really took it into bold directions with tracks based around stages instead of characters, and you’d get tracks that were incredibly atmospheric and atypical for the drama. War Agony, Abaraya, Concrete Cave, and Forever Torment are tracks I’ve listened to so much that they sound as synonymous with fighting games as Guile’s theme, yet are not typical of the genre.
criminally underrated, Iron Horse, Iron Terror goes sooo hard
SF2 Guile's theme just gives you like +100% Buff on reaction points.
Would like to have played a couple other 3d fighters besides tekken back then 😢

I loved Children of the Atom's music. Especially the themes of Magneto, Spiral, Iceman, and Psylocke.
Also that music Core-A Gaming uses that I'm sure is from a fighting game, but can't remember which one for the life of me.
Ryu and Ken's themes from Street Fighter EX Puls Alpha are both awesome.

"Esaka" of KOF '98 and "Tears" are the best OST of KOF that I know, I thought that it'll be in
I'd change GGX to original GG for ps1, soundtrack for that game was sooooo good and being the first one i think impacted much more than GGX. And add KoF 97 Bloody for sure! That game had this weird sound idea of having no music in some matches (tricks to make arcades raise the games volume to make it stand out) but when team new faces was on... everyone knew it was time for the best song in the game.
Also Street Fighter EX series has AMAZING soundtracks
For 96 I would’ve put arashi no saxophone instead

Where's Techno syndrome?
Techno Syndrome was never a part of the soundtrack. It released as a single, was used in the movie, and you could only access it either as a secret or by putting a music CD into the console. The closest thing to Techno Syndrome in an actual MK game was a remixed intro for Sega CD, and it's way worse than the original.
