Just bought my first camera and I want to take pictures of jets which we have here in the states in tennessee. Your video has really showed me alot of insite
Ha ha nice surprise to see you in this genre mate! My parents live very close to Mach loop so doing a bit of that this year. Nice video mate all the best.
5:43 Very OCD use of the rule of 3rds. I love it! Did you capture the stills while shooting video? If so, how did you set up to switch between video and photo?
Mark Kerton Well it was nice shots and also with no football now until April it will be interesting to see what people will be able to photograph if there’s a ban on travel.
I'm documenting the closed stadium at Bournemouth tomorrow so that will get the composition juices flowing! Then off to Fontwell Races so luckily still be quite a busy day! A few colleagues are heading for Non-League matches so that should be good too.
@@MarkKerton Well here in Ireland all sports has been cancelled for the League of Ireland Football in the south of Ireland to the Irish league in Northern Ireland Football plus all other sports from Hockey,Rugby and Irish sports of Gaelic football and Hurling and motorsports. Public transport services starting to be withdrawn adds to the mess if people don't drive. Have a great day tomorrow.
NIkCan Oh no, that’s drastic isn’t it! I’m really surprised the racing is still going ahead! I’d guess it won’t be long before we are copying you guys on restrictions! Try your hand at some landscapes perhaps?
Nice shots. And a nice diversion from football as it's all postponed for a few weeks :( Just wondered about the RAF security on the perimeter there - any ID needed? I wouldn't mind trying that myself - I've got my NUJ Press Card if needed. I'm also going to the 'mach loop' in Snowdonia soon. You got your much-needed stepladder I see, too! Great photos!
Thanks Pete. No pass needed at Coningsby as your on public land. Just a heads up re the loop. No RAF flying through LFA7 now and the US have reduced flights through there now too!
Thanks for watching Luke. Yes, 2.8 can be very useful at times. Not needed quite so much for the majority of aviation photography. Just good for fences when there’s no ladders! Thanks for getting in touch Luke👍🏻
Hi Mark, great video really helpful. What metering mode do you use, and do you still use single point for the auto-focus? Would you say settings are similar to what you would use for the football, apart from quicker shutter speed. Thanks.
Thanks Dan👍🏻 Pretty sure I was on spot metering this day. Defo on single point focus, rarely use any other setting for focussing. AI servo on the AF. Like you say, very similar to sport really, just a smaller aperture at around f5.6 ish. Thanks for watching Dan👍🏻
Awesome!! Looks like a cool day out and one that needs planning
A great day can be had at Coningsby definitely. Get planning👍🏻
Love this kinda photography vlog! That 400mm is massive!
Thanks Peilun👍🏻 Blu tooth mic is next on my kit list!
Amazing

Thanks Nick. Awful video quality, just couldn’t hold the camera still enough! It’s all about the still photography though so not too bad!

a bit late to the party on this one Mark but cracking photos there 👍
Awesome! I wish my Canon EOS 80D with my Sigma 100-400 could go down the f/2.8!
