Personnel: Cedric, Juan/Omar (no guitar, bass could be Omar?), Marcel/Ikey
- Really early demo of Vicarious Atonement, done to a click track with just bass, keys & vocals. Seems to just be one take from Cedric, with him commenting "I'm done" after a while of the outro, leaving 4 minutes of repeating bass & keys.

This demo has more heart and feeling then anything on amputechture. I love Omar, but he really messed up drowning this beautiful dark song in layers and layers of plucks and snares. I know they didn't just want to reproduce the sound of Francis. But, no album since was as cohesive and emotional. Sometimes bands get lost trying not to copy they sound that won them an audience, instead of making what the feel.

Being emotional is highly subjective. Maybe it was just different from the emotions you were expecting when comparing with the previous albums, but that doesn't mean it didn't have any. Maybe they felt like changing things and sticking with the old formula would feel forced. All I know is that imo this is a highly emotional album and my personal favorite.

@@yurijacoba the vocals were a little too eccentric for my taste. I think they were just overdone. The best songs in my opinion off the album were the most simplistic and naked vocally, like Asilos Magdalena, Vicarious Atonement and The Wounded Deer.

They wrote this album on the road, and compared to the crazy amount of meticulous work that went into Frances, it definitely shows. It’s very disjointed. The only complete song in my eyes is Meccaamputecture.
I love parts of other songs, especially the fist HALF of Tetragrammaton but then it goes off in a very strange direction that’s completely different from the rest of the song. Day of the Baphomets is guilty of this as well. And the fact that they reused old demo lyrics for that song just makes it seem like they didn’t use the same amount of effort for this album. It’s a 3/5 for me where as Deloused is a 5/5, Bedlam is a 4/5, and Frances is a 6/5 haha

This is like 100% as good as actual Vicarious Atonement. Would be better if the faster part didn't have Cedric struggling to keep up with his own lyrics
