i saw sir Elton live at a little venue of less than 6k people in Yakima Washington just two years ago. wow, the best concert ever and i was late due to parking issues. think of this video only three hours long! a true legend and i am a huge fan!
Ah... the ongoing discussion of the better between his present or former voice.... in the early seventies his 33 lp album was my favorite album, then when cassettes were big I'd enjoy his singing in my car... now nearing sixty myself I marvel at how his voice has matured and how my daughters (11 and 15) have embraced his music, just as I did. What we hear in Elton today is more than a great singer/pianist but the stuff legends are made of!

Elton played here in Oct 97 shortly after he lost Versace then Princess Di. I guess he felt the love, and added a 2nd show for May 98. It was a very chilly, rainy, overcast night and he came out and said he was going to play an extended concert for us and did anyone mind? The rain fell halfway into the concert. then he began ROCKETMAN... and it was like magic, the the clouds parted, rain stopped, and stars were visible! WHat a thunder of applause as he sang! SOng ended, rain came back :(

Thought he was going to perform under normal standard considering Caen isn't a big city but he was having the time of his life and so were the band.
