I sure enjoyed your update, thanks! I also have the Mountaineer and if I could only have one knife to survive with , this'd sure be it! All I ever have to do to the blade is strop it. Maranatha!
I stand with you sir. Had mine I think 3 yrs and I love it. Its a solid knife for sure. But you don't notice the weight in no way. I think its a lifetime piece no doubt. And a lifetime warranty can't beat that.
I bought a Benchmade bushcrafter today.. I've been eyeballing one at the hardware store for YEARS . They wanted 270 dollars for it and I couldn't make myself do it.. the same one sat there for years.... Today I went in to buy some ammo, and as always, I walked over to have eyeball intercourse with the knife I always wanted... Imagine my shock to see they put it on sale and marked it down to 175 dollars... That mfer came home with me today . It's perfect in every way. I love it , and it was everything I hoped it would be.. wife and kids and life prevented me from paying that much all these years. And today I guess the good lord decided he wanted me to have it. So while I may not have a pks. I have my grail knife nonetheless. And I share your enthusiasm.. in Alabama we say " tickled" too. And like you, I'm tickled to death to finally own this..
Eyeball intercourse 😂😂😂😂😂. I love that. And I’m glad you found your grail knife and was finally able to get it. I really don’t think one knife is superior across the board to another one. It depends on what the individual person wants in a knife. That’s what makes it special. Like the old saying goes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder
You should’ve gone online to get it. They can be had as little as $115. They go on sale pretty frequently at the big knife retailers like knife center, bladehq, etc.
Yeah, god of all people would want you to have a killing tool 🤣😭 thats almost as hypocritical as saying ita our god given right to have guns. I support guns and knives but saying god has anything to do with it is insane. Almost as insane as the taliban claiming theyre carrying out god will by bombing women and children, if there is a god he definitely doesnt want you carrying around weapons and its pathetic to bring him even into situations like this. I just love when people use god to justify horrifying actions against children and innocent women as gods will, if ir is gods will then he is a evil conniving coward.
When i get the back in-stock notification email im getting one, great review. I wont do a failer test either lol dout it it would fail anyway . Happy Trails Brotha 🇺🇲 🔥🇺🇸✌️
Good review of what looks to be an awesome blade. I love big, drop point knives and this one ticks all my boxes. I had been looking at the PKS Kephart XL, and I will probably get one of those eventually, but this one just calls to me. Thanks for sharing your views on it.
Thank you, and I’m glad you got something from it. This one called to me too, and I’m definitely happy I got it. It’s like carrying an axe on your side with its versatility…lol
I have a PKS Mountain Lion and I love it!! It's my goto and feel confident with it. I mustard etched the blade (sharpened section) because, it's a field knife.. I also for blade touch ups, bought a 4 in ceramic rod and it's all I need.
Was impressed with this knife and the quality for sure. The mountain lion was my second choice, and I debated hard between the two. Never heard of mustard etching, but it sounds interesting and I may look into that. I have a small diamond rod for my field sharpening, but it’s not exactly what I’m looking for. Might consider the ceramic rod too. Thanks for the suggestions
Lol, then sorry it’s taken me so long to go the review. I still haven’t gotten to take it out as much as I would have liked, but I felt confident enough to do the review and give my opinion on it. If all their knives are made as well as this one, and I’m pretty sure they are, you won’t go wrong buying any of the PKS knives. The only thing to worry about is which one fits your needs the most, and can you narrow it down to only one
Great knife! I own one with canvas micarta scales and the wildcat with canvas micarta scales. One of my go to knife sets for woodcraft/bushcraft and survival. Your opinion and thoughts on this knife are spot on. If a person is looking for a "One-Tool" option survival/bushcraft knife for under $200, don't hesitate, buy with confidence, this knife is a great choice. Thanks for the video and for sharing
If you don’t own one if these I’d get one NoW. I just picked mine up at SMKWs… absolutely awesome Dave snd his gang did a superb job on this one. I’ve bought, owned MANY bush knives. This is the BOMB! I have the Marcta handles and it’s sweet. The leather sheath is built well and all leather no CHI-com BS Dirty by design blade awesome. They have a good offering there of his craft… at GREAT PRICES! Salute Dave C!
I need to get back to the knife works soon and get to see some of the other blades they have. But I totally agree, I love every aspect of this knife. Been one of the best outdoor purchases I have ever made
I’m sorry to hear that man, lost mine about 10 years ago. Thought it was a fitting name though. And you will definitely enjoy this knife if you decide to go with it. I love mine!
I personally don’t really pay attention to it when it’s in my side. I made a drop for mine because I didn’t like it riding so high, and it feels perfect moving and wandering around outdoors. I thought it would feel pretty heavy when I got it, because it’s a big chunk of steel. But I have been very happy with it. And the thickness is perfect for batoning. I haven’t worried one time hitting this thing that it would break. It’s hard to describe until you get it in your hands, so I know the struggle your having right now. It looks and feels heavy, but not really noticeable when you get it on your belt
Your very welcome. I try my best to respond to every message. I’m still a small enough channel to do that. But that’s great news. If and when you do get it, come over to the crafty crow Facebook page and show us some pictures of it
Thanks bud, and I definitely put this review off way too long. I absolutely love this knife, and you can probably tell in the video I kept looking at it and handling it. It wasn't because of nerves, I just love holding it and admiring it...lol
I hate how much the price has gone up. I miss when you could grab their knives at around the $90 mark. At this point, you’re paying more for the name than the quality of the product. And they keep changing around their store and taking down models, adding models, taking them down etc etc. It’s really annoying trying to order from the website these days.
Thanks man. I did a lot of research before I put that much money on a quality knife. Was still nervous right up until I opened the box, but it has 100% been worth the money. I usually cant put it down after I pull it out of the sheath.
@@TheCraftyCrowShow awesome! That is how i am. I will research the crap out of stuff and usually end up talking myself right out of buying it lol. I am cheap and i want all the bells and some whistles at a cheap price lol.
@@jeffjackson5331 that’s exactly how I have approached all this gear I’ve bought. Hate spending the big bucks, but I’ve also learned over the years it’s better to spend a little more to get something that is better quality and will last

Got mine for Christmas 🎄. Going to finally get to take it to hunting camp and test it out.
Looks like a nice knife! Also- I love the background music in this one!!!

Is it a 5.5 cutting edge or 5.5 total blade length tip to handle ?
Cutting edge. It’s a big chunk of steel
Good review looking at getting one my granny name was ida Mae too lost few years ago god bless

Definitely a keeper.
Thanks a lot. It definitely is one of my all time favorites.
I agree I think knives look better when you leave the forge coloring on them
Great Knife Love the Video!!

140$ on knife country usa website right now instead of the 244$ reguar price!!! Just so you know brother
You and manns adventures need to get together and compare his and your knife in ten test!
Not a bad idea. We might have to try that

I just strop my pks mountain lion and if I need a touch up,its a ceramic rod.
That’s pretty much all I’ve done with this one too. It came and has stayed scary sharp!
