Just bought my first PKS Scorpion about 3 weeks ago, I work as a ranch hand and use it daily. Never leaves my belt and it's the best knife I've ever owned. Y'all have my customer loyalty, and I'll definitely be buying more styles in the future!
beautifull.... What I like about this knife is the handle. The "old" Scorpio followed the lines of the Mora Bushcraft... ergonomic, but not as elegant as this version. If PKS had a dealer in Europe that offered US prices, I would buy it right away. At the moment, it's only sold by Lamnia but with a markup of 50 euros: too much for my budget!
Yup I have three of your knives. Corporals camp knife Kephart And the grizzly. I like the Kephart the best. Little disappointed with the Corporals camp knife (don't tell him that though). that contour on the grizzly like the scorpion, I don't particularly like it. But can live with it. Maybe I'll one.
Simplicity in excellence love it in my knives and my women and my cars or trucks for that matter simple gasoline and carburetors not like this newfangled nonsense as they learn you in the first or second day of boot camp ...or kindergartens "Keep It Simple Stupid...(K.I.S.S)
I just ordered the new model today. I ran my own custom leather business for over 25 years, so I will make my own sheath. I will gladly leave more feedback after I have used it. But I really love the looks of a no frills work knife.
I wish you still offered the survival series knife The original barrel handled because I sure would buy another one because my grandson wound up with the first one he loved it so much I gave it to him.
Great. The only thing stopping me from buying a Scorpion was the contoured handle. Now I have to buy one. Right after I get the Cpl. Kelly Edition Camp and Trail. Thanks for making bomb proof gear. You have a customer for as long as the store is open and I'm alive.
Any chance that these might be offered up as just a knife blank with rivets in the event someone might want a different type of handle material other that what your store will offer?
I have come to find a barrel style handle, 3/32 blade about 4 1/2 inches long have been my favorite style. Do you think you may make a 4- 4 1/2” camp and trail? I love my 4 other ones, just an idea that I think could be another stellar knife. Y’all do such great work, and I can’t wait to see what you come up with next.
👍👍👏👏👏Yes! Been eyeballing that knife for quite some time now for the blade profile but the bump in the handle was always a deal breaker for me. Not that I use a knife for extended periods every day, but when I do, it's for hours on end and I have found knives without those pronounced bumps on the handle are much more comfortable to use for hours on end. I wasn't in the market for another knife, but dang! I'm going to have to add one of these to my stable of cutlery! Thanks Dave!
Worth mentioning, the Woodsman Wedgie from SRO is also worth picking up if you spend any time splitting wood and need a wedge. Check out DC’s video on it. I was tarp camping in the snow this past weekend making both long fires and Siberian Fire lays. The wedgie makes super short work of deadfall bucked down to 6 foot logs. It’s been the best tool and now a mainstay for consistently making wet weather and snow heavy fires w/ large diameter (6-8”) logs . AND a bow drill divot! It can’t be beat. I use the SRO Mountaineer myself, barrel handle and exquisite! #WinningBigley.
Looks similar to the handle on the original BHK Pathfinder knife back when LT and Dan were still partners...mine was a gift from Dan and it's served me well for the last 15 years...
After watching the video, and taking in account that we are approaching the season.... I could not help but to think that David is Santa disguised, trying to bring joy and knives to all the good self reliance outfitters of the world 🎅 But honestly, I would be worried what would this Santa bring to the naughty ones.... 😂 Regarding the knife, It looks really cool. It reminds me to a Puukko, which i'm a bit obsessed with lately.
i'll be buying one for sure! ever since the prototype was posted i was sold hardcore. handle is main reason i went with a kephart XL vs scorpion, but always wanted the scorpion's profile. great job Dave and team! PS. Still patiently waiting for the return of the Forest Tool!
"Dirty by Design" absolutely killer concept. The Kephart goes in my collection next, after that this new scorpion handle design. Simple, elegant, useful. My knives are tools and versatility is priority
Out of all the PKS models, the original Scorpion is by far my favorite. I plan to get one eventually, it would go great paired with my Gransfors Bruk Scandinavian Forest Axe, then Replace my Silky Big Boy 2000XL Folding Saw with the Outback model. For those interested a Leatherman Supertool 300 rounds out my tools for the Bug Out Bag. Sometimes I bring along a Cold Steel Spetznaz Shovel, but most of the time I leave it at home. My current knife is a Morakniv Carbon Garberg.
Excellent. Big improvement, in my opinion. Good to keep the old one available, too. Of course, I like contours - in the right places. 😝 Keep up the good work, Dave. We appreciate you!
Now that is a good looking knife although it looks just like a scorpion and I suppose it should because it is a scorpion but I can see what you were talking about about the Contour part digging into your hand so that was a good remake for lack of a good word of the Scorpion at least the Scorpion handle. I really do love that knife if I didn't have so many knives I would definitely get me one of those I like it because it's just plain Jane. Thanks for the video. Stay vigilant!
The "dirty by design" is a brilliant concept. If you buy a Helle knife from Norway it's so shiny and damn good looking you're loathe to take it to the field. Mine, the Temagami, is a beauty and it just sits there hanging off a wall. Each year I buy myself a knife for Christmas and this year it was a Scorpion which I'll have no reservation taking to the field, adding character to it by use. But I have to wait for Christmas to open the box.
Awesome Dave! I love how you're keeping the original version of the scorpion as well and not just scrapping it, which allows people more options! Keep up the great work! To you, Shawn, Matt and everyone else at self reliance outfitters and the pathfinder school...thank you for sharing your knowledge and experiences with us all.
Not to be ungrateful, but do you think you guys will ever make the Forrest Tool again. I have an original Grizzley, and it is my favorite knife for the woods.
Very cool brother! The PKS Scorpion has always been my favorite design knife. The change of the handle is super cool. Reminds me of the first PKS knife I got from you,I know it's different, but reminds me of the Bushcraft basic in some ways. A great new addition to the PKS line up 👍

Thank it is by far my favorite
I love the "why not just do both?" attitude to this update. Still offering the original, but also offering an updated design.
Oh man! You better crank up production this is going to sell better than hot cakes on sunday morning!!

Oh ya Dave my only complaint when I reviewed .the score was the handles were uncomfortable this model should work awesome
Yup I have three of your knives.

I'll pick one up ASAP.
Now bring on a barrel handled XL and Mountaineer, lol.
Keep up the great work.
Will the Scorpion XL be included with the same changes as the Outfitters Scorpion model shown in this video?
I just ordered the new model today. I ran my own custom leather business for over 25 years, so I will make my own sheath. I will gladly leave more feedback after I have used it. But I really love the looks of a no frills work knife.
Dave I’m buy two for my son and myself. How can get with the leather strapping like you got?
I wish you still offered the survival series knife The original barrel handled because I sure would buy another one because my grandson wound up with the first one he loved it so much I gave it to him.

Good looking knife, I like the “broom handle” much better!
You fixed the exact reason I never pulled the trigger on the Scorpion model, despite really liking the blade profile....dammit.
I definitely like the look of this one much better! More classic looking
Thank you for your service🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks for clearing that up Dave, thsnk you sir,is the scorpion design in the style of a pukko but by pks design.
I’ve had my eye on the camp and trails knife and keep missing out when stock is in. This knife looks great too. Decisions decisions. 😏
Man that is exactly what I’m looking for in a knife right now!
it would be great to buy if it was ever in stocks 3 months and counting lol
Any chance that these might be offered up as just a knife blank with rivets in the event someone might want a different type of handle material other that what your store will offer?

We need the Kephart Camp Master back! Would love to see a micarta option as well! Keep up the great work DC!!
I'd order the scorpion xl in a curly maple handle right now if you had it in stock.
Purchasing mine this weekend.. I wish I hadn't missed out on the French Trapper, though.
I hope you do another run of those!
Knives are a necessity. The new Pathfinder Scorpion is a good looking knife. It seems to be a very useful tool.
BTW- you look like Santa Claus!

I definitely understand the need! And the want! Sounds like a great win win...!

Any idea when this model will be in stock again?
I like the Scorpion so much I own two. And I make my own blades !! Keep rockin', Dave ! 👍👍
Nice knife Dave. What's the price tag on this one?
How will we know when it's available - like to be early on this one!
i'll be buying one for sure! ever since the prototype was posted i was sold hardcore. handle is main reason i went with a kephart XL vs scorpion, but always wanted the scorpion's profile. great job Dave and team!

Anyone who wants to can get me this one for Christmas…
"this one's curly maple so it's mine"
I like this one . Very Classic design
"Dirty by Design" absolutely killer concept.
The Kephart goes in my collection next, after that this new scorpion handle design.

I have the Kephart XL, absolutely beautiful knife. The performance is amazing as well.

I think I love it can’t wait till it’s for sale
Excellent evolution on that knife Dave!... while I really don't need another knife...I may just have to have one.
Excellent profile blade. I use mostly PKS and esee knives and I use and like the HM series of esee. That fit my had great

Any plans to do this one in a 5" version?
Got a winner there, like the new look.."

Thanks for the info!
Micarta will be perfect for these. I’ll pick one up as soon as those release.
Would love to see this option on the Mountaineer
My Scorpion HD just arrived in the mail yesterday and it certainly looks like it will be able to handle anything I need it for.
If you bring back the Grizzly I will gladly buy one. Your limited production special last September sold out in 2 days.
Zahn still managed a walk by too...🙀..love it Dave...and the new handle is awesome.
Is there going to be blade blanks?
No
Awesome.

Will be the next one I get.
Why are these knives NOT 5" in length...?
The HD and Xl are 5” versions of the same profile
Thanks Dave
