"The first maniac you have to scare is yourself..." So eloquent. It's true. All the horror movies people shudder at when their names are mentioned have to cross lines. Wes knows.
The photography bit was quite clever. There is this thing which keeps showing up in photography of given subjects which the naked eye cannot capture but which photography perchance captures.
I don't know. For it's time The Omen was pretty graphic. Sure it wasn't HG Lewis but it had a gory beheading which is repeated several times from several angels. Not exactly subtle.
Yawn. Try actually looking for movies instead of expecting them to be served to you like dinner. Good movies exist out there they just don’t get big flashy releases. Check Ari Aster’s work. His work is no less gore than the omen and is maybe even smarter.... watch Inherentence and midsommar
@@krybucket4383 it's kind of just common sense. Warner was a well-established actor by 83/84 and a bit of a 'name'. And Elm Street is notorious for just barely getting enough financing to get made, yet they have enough money to try to get David Warner? Just doesn't make sense. It's one of the 'internet rumors' that's been around so long it get's reported as true (like the "Jamie Lee Curtis is the operator voice in Halloween 3" story which also isn't true.).
As a kid if i wanted to buy something £10 i just use to save up my pocket money that's how i did it and I use to buy videos and tapes back then i spent it most on doctor who videos and films.
My dad watched the omen n high school in Manila Philippines in 1976 in may 6th.
warner was really really good in his small part in scream 2
He compares it to The Exorcist but for me The Omen made my bones chill far more then Exorcist!!!
Great classic
Genius acknowledging genius, what can I say?
A SUPERB commentary by Wes Craven. You're 100% right.
I miss Wes Craven he had a great way of speaking

This is when a horror movie could be made without showing copious amounts of violence and gore
Back when we still could use our imaginations. Now they just want fear on demand.
MrExcelsio, have you seen the movie? It definitely has a lot of gratuitous violence.

Came out of the movies thinking has this happened is it happening will it happen
He must have been mistaken, David Warner was the professor in Scream 2 not 3
And David was the first choice for *Fred Krueger* too!
@@dnasty312 that myth was popped a while back. It isn't true.
@@brandonhendrix7223 I thought that there was a makeup test done with him though, there are pictures online.
@@brandonhendrix7223 I looked into it, they all deny it. Guessing the makeup test was done on a head cast or something?

I fully believe that a woman who has a baby knows whether or not the child she is holding is really hers.
Its referenced in the book and movie that she thinks or feels the child i.e damien is not hers
