- Now at the start of Infinity War, Thanos was off gathering stones and he had destroyed Thor’s ship in order to take the space stone from him. However, I’ve always wondered, what if Loki hadn’t taken the Tesseract and Thanos had to go to Asgard to get it. More than that, what if Thanos had gone to Asgard while Hela was still there? Who would have come out on top? Well today, thats what we’re gonna find out!

Hey everyone! So as I'm sure a lot of you have noticed, I had to delete quite a few videos these past few days because of stupid copyright reasons. Hela was strong enough to single handedly break apart Thor's hammer, while Thanos put all his effort into taking chunk by chunk out of the vibranium shield. To be clear, Uru metal (Thor's hammer) was far more durable than the vibranium shield. Thanos strength is nothing next to Hela's.
Also, Thanos almost died going up against Scarlett Witch and would have died had he not order his ships to fire down on her
She did not use her strength to break Thor's hammer she was using mystic Powers did you not see the hammer slow down as it come to her hand she broke it apart with magic not bear strength

MCU Thanos cannot beat Asgards fleet with just his basic kit. And physically she crushed thors hammer so she tops him there. He cant claim experience over her because she is an ancient war mongering princess who tears through the realms. And she was at her weakest when she pulled off the highest physical feat in the series, whats a refreshed and empowered Hela gonna be able to pull off.

I think Hela could over powered and even killed Thanos. When she was in Odin's vault, she seemed to know what the "tesseract" was, and yet only referred to it as "not bad." She even knew that the "infinity Gauntlet" was "fake," eluding to have prior knowledge of its configuration and it's true power. Good call DanCo, "Hela Wins!"

The real question is, could Hela take on Thanos AND his army?
My thought: Seeing her fight all those Asgardian guards, ships, and Valkyries, she wiped the floor with them. However, adding those guards, ships, Valkyries and adding the power by 50x, I still think she could. She's a goddess for crying out loud. Not to mention, when she fought the Asgardian guards, she got stabbed and still walked away like nothing happened. So, yes. Personally, I think she's DEMOLISH Thanos and his army.

Nice fight Brother. I tend to FORGET that MOVIE THANOS actually is "only" a HULK STRONG, skilled, seasoned Warlord but actually has no energy projection powers Sans ,the Gauntlet . I agree man,HELA is strong,fast,skilled,raised in a warrior culture AND has "Black Dagger" Powers. With that Sword Thanos WILL DO WELL,but Hela is so Versatile with the ebony swords and that agility is a Deadly Ballet of Death. @Devam Kumar Das Seth in the comics is mad powerful and an excellent villain. THATS WHY I would like to see him in the MCU movies. Maybe allied with movie Hela. I'm sure the movies would still make him powerful but not"universe shaking" powerful,as Odin in the MCU isn't either.

I don’t feel the arguement with Thor was that strong as Thor was fucking huge in size and terrible unfit. While some might say he’s still a god he wasn’t the god he was in infinity war, the one who nearly killed thanos. If Thor was the same in endgame as in infinity war I think the battle would’ve been much easier.

@@Dragonflee100 Scarlet Witch broke an Uru sword. That stuff is more contumacious than adamantium or vibranium. That places her practically, for all intends and purposes, at a cosmic level. So it doesn't suggest that Thanos is really not that powerfull when he calls for help against her.

We've not seen Hela get anywhere near losing composure. Asgardians all have the ability to go Super-saiyan in Berzerker-Rage. Imagine when she does

@@sparknazo It's not even because she's necessarily stronger its really because her fighting style and skill are better than Thanos. He uses his strength as his primary form of combat and while he's a very skilled hand-to-hand combatant Hela's ability to manage multiple targets at the same time and her maneuverability make her a superior fighter in this case.
She would have skewered half the heroes instead of snapping 😂
Hela takes this fight. That vision that Wanda gave Tony in AoU where Hulk is laying there with all the spears sticking out, that's how I see Hela leaving Thanos to die as he ponders his life choices. If Stormbreaker nearly killed Thanos by cleaving his chest in two, Hela's unlimited swords, daggers, and spears have a nice big target to aim for. He'll look like an olive faced a firing squad of angry toothpicks.
Even Odin could not kill Hela, could only just trap her. She can immediately heal from a chest stab by Gungnir, which i'm assuming is stronger than Thanos' weapons, and seems unaffected by Thor's biggest lightning bolt. Not even Thanos can fight someone who is by definition immortal and can basically fight for as long as she wants while regenerating from wounds.

I agree hella is born to fight and was trained and fought her whole life, just not fighting but destroying and fighting on a scale not many know of, then think what she learned from her mom and even a young almighty father was worried about her and I imagine with a good reason, nobody talks about her knowledge which could be of unimaginable size since fighting was her whole worldly existence

I vehemently disagree. Thanos (in the comics) was in love with Death. The COOLEST resolution would have been for the two to fall in love/lust and walk away together. They would make the MCU's ultimate power couple!!!
Thanos' "double edged sword" is made of Uru, the same material as Mjolnir so Vibranium would be nothing in comparison

Dami he does. Hela is powerful but she seems to be fodder in the comics. Odin casually one shots her into submission. Odin is much more powerful than thanos but thanos doesn’t come off as fodder when he fights Odin. I doubt 616 hela could beat silver surfer or sentry, talk less of thanos

One power you forgot to mention she can summon and empower her army of the Dead
Hella holding (and subsequently destroying) Thor's Hammer may not all be attributed to raw physical strength. The question is still let open of Hella knowing the same magic Odin used to determine who is 'worthy of the power of thor'. Otherwise, it still cannot be left aside the other powers that Hella brings from the dimension of Hel.
This is the only note I have for Dan Co for him to delve more into the future. Otherwise, interesting battle. I wish to see a rematch where Thanos weilds some of the remaining Infinity Stones (Not the Space Stone, given we take it for granted it's in Asgard).
in the comic books, no way hela can match the dark titan. mcu is limited, hollywood has no true concept of thanos.
Odin kept her imprisoned with his life because he couldn’t defeat her, and he’s had access to 3 stones at the time. She’s even walked passed the tesseract and wasn’t even impressed by it, with only a remark of “that’s not bad”. I’d say Hela with the eternal flame would slaughter infinity gauntlet thanos

Thanos probably. He won against Thor with strombreaker, Cap and Iron man at the same time. He crushed the hulk and overpowered captain marvel. Hela could barely win against awakened Thor, when he didn't even have stormbreaker, while being on asgard. While hela is strong, she is nowhere near the strenght of thanos. I also doubt that hela could harm thanos skin dangerously. F. e , he tanked a whole starship without a problem or held of dr. Strange's sword with his bare hands. He could also just block hela's sword with his own sword.
The only way I see hela win, is in a 1v1 on asgard when thanos doesn't know who she is. Other than that, thanos will win 8/10 times

If it’s base form Thanos, Hela stomps but if it’s Thanos with all 6 infinity stones, Thanos wins
Thanos with the gauntlet easily wins, he wouldn't even fight her, he would just turn her into bubbles but if Thanos is without his gauntlet and the fight is taking place in Asgard, Thanos is definitely losing after a long hard fight.
I seriously think that even with all the stones Thanos still loses on Asgard.
Hela can conjure so many swords that he wouldn't even have a chance do anything.
So you're missing a couple of things.
1. Hela was the original owner of Mjolnir.
2. Hela uses magic to create weapons and effectively reanimate the dead. She knows magic.
3. She never displayed a strength feat akin to crushing Mjolnir again.
4. We have no idea if her swords could pierce Thanos.
It depends on how far away they start, if Thanos is further away, Hela spams swords and knocks him off of Asgard.
If they start closer, Thanos goes in for the kill and decapitates Hela. He's stronger, smarter and more physically resistant.

I still think Hela is alive, if she doesn't show a care for an infinity stone, I don't think Surtur would kill her, although he only weakness is the destruction of asgard itself, she's the god of Death, so her title does imply that she would have some control over the concept of death, just like Thor with lightning and Loki with assassination tactics(mischief)

Thor cut Thanos' chest with Stormbreaker. He also beheaded Thanos in one shot, also chopped his arm. So Hela spamming swords would seriously harm him to the point he won't be able to block more attacks and she would kill him more easily then. She also pierced a spaceship with giant swords, same as you mentioned for Surthur.
Yeah, I agree. Besides everything you said, God of Thunder thor wasn't confident that the combination of the Hulk, himself, Loki, and Valkyrie could take her on. Plus Thor and Thanos's strength is relative to each other with Thanos being slightly stronger. That being said there wasn't a single moment in their fight where Hela was weaker than Thor so she and Thanos (when it comes to strength) would stack up pretty well. Theirs even an argument to be made that she's physically stronger. I don't like using Captain Marvel to scale Thanos tho. Her power level is so wonky like she can travel at lightspeed at the end of her movie yet in endgame she travels at the average speed of a fighter jet. Plus with the stuff that she does to the Kree fleet at the end of her movie Thanos shouldn't have survived a single strike from her. Plus I just kinda hate MCU Captain Marvel xD

What we never got a chance to see was Hela fighting on different worlds after she returned to Asgard. She was only in one movie and we've seen

I'll say this, Thanos only attacked Thor AFTER the death of Odin and the destruction of Asgard.
He had spies everywhere in the galaxy and in different dimensions keeping an eye on things and reporting back to him beyond the information he received from Gamora and Nebula.
If Odin or Hela still been around Thanos would have failed at every turn? When you think about it the two most powerful beings in the MCU in order were Odin, Hela, Surtur, and then Thanos.
Only the gauntlet put him on Odin's level.

I've been reading/collecting comics since the early '70s. Anyone remember Thanos being defeated and turned to stone by the spirit of Adam Warlock way back in '77? Some of the very first Thor comics I remember reading were Journey Into Mystery. Hela is as badass as they come in the Marvel Universe. Thanos had to wait for three things to happen/beings to die before he really started his crusade:
1) Ego had to die
2) Odin had to die
3) Hela had to die and Asgard had to be destroyed.
All three would have stopped Thanos, Thor would have had he been able to draw power from Asgard as he had the Odinforce after Odin and Hela died which passed it on to him.

She could beat him without the stones, but with them he'd just make her blades floppy and dis formed like he did to the avengers at the end of infinity war.
If Stormbreaker could survive a blast from all infinity stones at once, and it's the same material as Mjolnir, we could guess that Hela could also destroy Stormbreaker, and also could destroy the stones.
The fact that stormbreaker survived the attack doesnt mean hela can destroy them. Only energy simillar to the one of the stones can do it
