Hi. Please don't think I am criticizing, as I am not at all, I promise. Just a quick lesson because I'm older, I'm sure.
The correct sentence would be "That kid has more confidence than I."
The best way to remember is to finish the sentence. Example: That kid has more confidence than I do. You wouldn't say "me do". :)
Another one so many use is "me and so and so went to the store". Just look at these as two sentences. You wouldn't say "Me went to the store". Always think of the other person first in the sentence. Example: My brother and I went to the store.
I've been obsessed with this stuff since a kid decades and decades ago. I had a mother that would correct me each time and it was drilled in my head. Then, I drilled it in my son's head. Haha. So again, just trying to help, not intending to hurt feelings. :)

The way you used to correct his/her grammatical mistake is very respectful⭐. You are such a polite person. If other people use the same way, I think no one will feel sensitive about correcting their language mistakes. Plus it would benefit the person who committed a grammatical error and others who read the comments like me, too. I also may confuse about using "I" and "me" some times. Thank you for clearing it out.
@@wideworld114 Aww, thank you for understanding that I would never correct to be cruel. It's not in me to do so. My intention was to help because I believe people are getting off track, possibly due to shortening sentences and words for texting. On the use of "I" or "me", the best rule of thumb is just to complete the sentence and not end with one or the other. I have even heard Dr. Phil end a sentence with "Robin and me", or "I", where he should have used the opposite. I'm really not obsessed with correcting someone, but I do on occasions because I would want to be corrected. People don't understand, but even when applying for jobs, interviewers can size people up on their amount of education within a couple of seconds and it could even effect the amount of salary they receive. If they feel someone isn't educated enough, then they wouldn't notice they are receiving a lower pay grade than others, etc.. Also, depending on what position they are doing, it could even hinder them from promotions, especially, if they are dealing directly to the public. I appreciate your reply, more than you know. This man is not just a judge, he is a "mensch"--a truly nice guy. Don't we all wish law enforcement in general had more "merciful" judges like him!
Before the dad's story comes to equation, I only thought the boy was saying "Mom is not guilty" fearing his mom ends up in jail but his confidence tells everything.
