    Hi! Hope you are ok! The weather where I live has not been pizza cooking weather for weeks and weeks - storms and wind - yuk. However, that gives me an opportunity to make these tips and review vids for this channel - when the weather improves I will be back to normal programming! 😀

    Hello from New York. Enjoy your videos a great deal. The Koda 16 is one of best items I've ever purchased. Your videos have really helped the learning curve.

    Loved the shape of your pizzas. Especially the larger flatter pizzas in the Koda 16. Do you happen to have a video on shaping your larger pizzas? That's exactly what I'm trying to accomplish.

    I use the Koda 12.
    I have a trick to get the pizza away from the fire if it's too hot. I extend the deck by holding a peel in one hand and lining it up with the floor of the oven. Then, using a pizza spinner which is like a long fork, I can maneuver the pizza so that it's half-in and half-out of the oven, that is, part on the stone and part on the peel. I can spin the pizza while it's perched there using the spinner.
    I'm sure I'd like the Koda 16 for all the reasons mentioned in the video. Still, I sometimes feel the 12 is perhaps more "authentic" in that traditional domed wood burning ovens only have a fire coming from the back or side, but not both directions. That being said, the 16's arrrangement has it's own logic as was pointed out: the side burner contributes to heating up the front of the oven. No doubt it was inspired by commercial ovens that have burners on more than one wall. One oven I found on UA-cam had burners on the left, right and back!

    The issue I see with 16 vs 12, apart from size, is that I believe 12 has half the gas consumption, roughly. And as you say, the smaller heats up quicker

    Hi,
    thank you for this video! I love my Koda 12, it is a great oven.
    But may I ask you how do you cook severals pizzas? Do you wait some minutes (maybe 8 minutes) until the stone has 420°C again? So long does it take after one cook to heat the stone.
    Greetings from Germany,
    Mark

    • @Got2EatPizza
      @Got2EatPizza  2 роки тому +2

      Hi Mark, thanks for watching! yes, I do wait but by the time I’ve made my pizza it’s ready and it’s about 8 mins - depends on the weather though. Hi to Germany!

    I cook many things in my Koda. Last night i cooked Ugnspannkaka. A thick pancake that you cook in a ovenform in the oven. Often with salted pork or bacon as an ingredient. Only thing i dont like in the 12 inch version is that the dial is located in the back. I wish it was located on the side, as in the koda 16

    • @Got2EatPizza
      @Got2EatPizza  2 роки тому

      That sounds lovely - I’ve never heard of that pancake before! I agree that a side dial is easier to reach!

      @@Got2EatPizza You havnt? This is a swedish staple dish. Made with or whithout bacon
      Recepie:
      150g fat bacon
      260g wheatflour
      1 litre full fat milk
      4 eggs
      10g salt
      Warm a oven to 200 centegrade. Fry the bacon in a frying pan to get some color
      Pour the bacon with its fat in a 25×20×10 cm oven form.
      In a bowl, whisk the eggs, flour and 1/3 of the milk into a smooth batter, add the salt and rest of the milk and whisk this throughly. Pour it into the form and bake for 40-50 minutes in 200 centegrade oven until the pancake is brown and baked through. Serve with lingonberry jam.
      I manage to make the dush in my Ooni. It tasted better than made in an oven.
      I fired the oven stone up to 250 centegrade. Put in the pancake and turned down heat to superlow, (by pressing in the dial and turn clickwise) i cooked for around 35 minutes, rotating the gorm a couple of time to not risking burning it

      Thank you so much and as these ingredients are nearly all stocked in my cupboard, I’m going to try this in the Koda 16 for my next dark night cook and will film it - looking forward! Just need to get that jam from ikea this week - I have many items from the Swedish market section, but not the jam!

      @@Got2EatPizza yes. Film the whole thing please. A tip. Make the batter some hours before baking it. 2 reasons, 1 it comes up to room temp, and 2, the flour is giving the time to rest and swell. Then just whisk it up just before pouring it into the pan. Good luck!!
