I haven't worn shorts for years. I wear wide leg linen pants in place of shorts.

I love shorter “Bermudas” that end a few inches above the knee. The ones that end below the knee can look frumpy on petite me, especially if they’re cut fuller. I love a white linen shorts suit, including a casual, unlined blazer, for summer. I hope I can find one.
I love linen but I honestly don’t know why they line them with hot polyester -some of my faves came from Loft. Good luck 🤍

In the USA what you refer as "khaki" we call olive green. Khaki is more of a tan here.🤗

No in the US we have a different olive green we have that too. Khaki and tan we consider different colors as well. I'm watching the video again, some of the skirts were olive Green she wasn't just saying that it's only khaki

Bermuda shorts are hard for us short and petite people, it really depends on how they are cut and where they hit on the leg/knee. On me a narrower cut and hitting just above the knee looks best

I always called Bermuda shorts the ones that end right above the knee. The ones below are either gauchos, clam diggers, etc. depending on the timeline. Slightly longer than that are capris.

I do too. You want to think pretty woman when the Bermuda shorts come back. I like Bermuda shorts because you are protected in chairs from sweaty legs that sat in chairs before you in ublic.
Real leather is breathable i think thats why were seeing it for spring because people are realising that real leather is better for the environment than the plastic everyone has been wearing and faux leather is sweaty and horrible to wear leather can be warm or cool and breathable ❤
I love the sweater jacket 'trend'. I find them very comfortable and versatile. They look more polished and elevate casual outfits.

I have ALWAYS liked Bermuda shorts for all ages. Showing less is more comfy, elegant and always classy and most flattering for most everyone. Just my opinion.
I love the combination of Khaki & orange and Khaki & white... Also, denim is a classic... It doesn't matter how old you are, you'll always look stylish and on trend wearing denim...😊❤😊

At 5'4", Bermuda shorts make me look like a stump, but for taller gals, I think they look great.
They can look great on you but they are definitely more flattering on petites if they are a tad more fitted and fall above the knee. x

@@melaniemcneil407Short legs would cause problems. I am 5'5" and love them but the cut does make a difference on whether you look short and frumpy or stylish.

I love love love orange. I wear it spring summer and fall and wear rust in winter. I decorate in my house with those colors as well. Pantone color of the year!

Bermuda shorts have been a staple for my summer when it comes to really putting on a look but just for working out or just bumming around I tend to go with shorter shorts (I have all lengths accumulation) and have thrifted me shorts because of the relax fit and cargo options starting some years back. I love vest because they take a plain top give it some dimension to add such great style to a look. It so funny to think I use to wear bodycon dresses a lot just about 4 years ago and covid hit, with depression, major work and personal stresses and isolation while at the same time I went into menopause, and it rack havoc on my body conditioning. I am hoping to get back to doing activities I love to do and getting my body at it best for my present age. I have worn them but like you said they pair up well with long cardigans. Oh yeah, to the sweater weather which is all season for me because I get cold easily and also I like at time to keep my chest covered.
With this thrifted haul: a faux fur brown/blond/tan/cream midi length coat, a pair of buckskin Bjorndal lace up oxford like bootie zip closure and chunky wood mid heels, and a midi length olive trench coat that has real tan leather accents, I thrifted a off-white Chanel like blazer, the fit is questionable because it don't fit my chest completely but it can close underneath my chest. No shorts or bermudas for me! You have to be tall, long legs to really look good on bermudas and that's not me. They make my legs look shorter and the whole me quite ridiculous.
I’m short too, 5’0”. I get where you’re coming from, it also depends on the fabric and length of the bermudas. Tbh I love them.

I’m tall 5’8’ and thin and I won’t be wearing these either. Lol. I just don’t like the way they look -I feel like I would look frumpy. I’ll skip this one. I’d rather wear a cute midi or maxi skirt instead. I’m 50 yrs old btw.
I am 5'4", with long thighs and short calves. Weather permitting, I wear shorts all the time but they have to be A line and hit at the right point on the thigh. Bermudas make my calves look even shorter

My favorite Lady Jacket/Cardigan is Sezane’s Betty style, they have classic, pointed collars, which make a big difference, the plain round-neck isn’t great on me. My arms are the first things to get cold, so I always need long sleeves, even on summer mornings. A long-sleeve tee works fine, but there are so many other interesting lightweight knit tops around, too.
Sezane makes such high quality clothes too. I love them ❤️

Interesting video! Great to see bermuda shorts, as long as they suit of course, and I love denim anything, especially styled in a slightly more formal style, trousers with seams, jackets and skirts. All vests! 👍🏼

Yes to bermuda shorts! Esp the ones that end just above the knees. Denim dresses and embroidered denim are fun too. Pleated skirts a bit of a challenge for petite frame.

Spring is one of my favorite seasons.

I love Bermuda shorts and have worn them since elementary and middle school in the 1960s and also in high school and university throughout the 1970s. But, they were cut a bit wider in the thigh than the ones now, but not as wide as culottes. Plus, the waist was a regular waist cut and not low-ride waist. But, hopefully, I'll find the right ones this year.
I love the Quirky Denim items and especially the patchwork denim shirt jacket with the shorts. Last year, I was lucky to pick up the Sandro-Paris Natie Cropped Denim Jacket which is 🔥🔥. That piece will be an evergreen.
As for pleated skirts, I've loved them since a small child and am always happy to find some new ones. Last year, I went on Lands' End and picked up three box pleated skirts as I didn't want to pay a fortune for them. I then styled them with some of my high-end fashion pieces and the looks worked out fine. Plus, Lands'End always has those box pleated skirts as some schools require them as part of school uniforms. Last year, I was also able to get a hold of Zara's pleated kilt skirt version in light blue denim. Whenever I see pleated skirts, even if not a trend, I pick them up as they come and go as far as trends and I also wear them whether they're on trend or not.
I'm really glad that khaki looks are back as that's been one of my looks since the original Banana Republic, founded in 1978 up in Northern California, when it was a safari clothing-style company although the first Banana Republic safari clothing store opened here in L.A. in the early 1980s. I shopped the various ones here regularly to the end before the conversion to the Banana Republic of today. I'm glad that both tan and green khaki are being worn with orange. That's one way that I've also worn them for decades. I also mix in some leopard print with khaki tan.
Spring/Summer 2024 season seems as if there will be a lot of fashion variety. A good thing.

I think a lot of those are wearable by most body shapes, in some variation. Bermuda shorts and off-the-shoulder tops, though, are really proportion dependent. For someone petite, Bermudas can make them look even shorter, cutting their legs into bits visually. Same with off-the-shoulder tops. But fashion is fun and we don't need to take every season's new trends too seriously. Just opt in or out where we wish. Thanks as always.

Our Royal family is also named the house of orange. We wear this color for national sport events and on Kingday. We ad a orange banner to our flag on royal birthdays.

So far I only liked the combination of khaki (tan) with orange bags and/shoes, the vests, and sweater jackets (provided no gold bottons). I could wear the bermudas but depending on the style.

I miss seeing you dress in your daily wardrobe. seeing what you choose to wear with shoes would be helpful. I haven’t gotten my shoe inventory set up yet. Really need flats and sneakers. Are there good sneaker options with muted tones that are comfortable. I know you spoke about Samba’s but I wonder if those will crash and fall since they seem more of a fad at this point since they have a specific look.

Hey Leonie, thx for this trends update! Khaki green is one of my wardrobe neutrals. I’ve just cut op a pair of old chinos and made my own khaki maxi skirt. I love Bermudas, but no longer than a couple of inches above the knee. To me the long and wide legs aren’t terribly flattering.

Thanks so much . I won’t be wearing any of these except smaller pleated skirts . Most of these trends aren’t for over 60s and some will not flatter Petite Women . Box pleats are not easy for Women to wear , Bermuda shorts …You best be tall with lovely knees xx
I love Bermuda shorts especially with a heel or wedge. I have some Capri pants and distressed jeans that I’m going to making into Bermuda shorts. Before I donate or throw something out, I see how I can repurpose it first.
I also have a leather button up shirt and a couple of lightweight leather blazers that I can carry over into spring. I’m going to sit out the pleated skirt. I don’t have one and I don’t think it’s necessary. If I am out thrifting and see one, I may pick it up if the price is right.
This is no offense to anyone in the comments, but I think many people don’t know how to style their clothes. There’s difference between wearing vs styling your clothes.
For instance, the Bermuda short itself is not the “issue” nor is your body type or height. There are many different styles of Bermuda shorts from fitted to loose, and petite to tall.
To say Bermuda shorts is universally unflattering is absurd, and says more about how you feel about yourself than other people wearing them. And that goes for all aesthetics.
Unknowingly I bought orange clothes off the shoulder tops and vests I'm on trend without trying. 😂
I love, love love berumuda shorts. I had a few pair of white bermuda jeans the last few years (hard to get grabbed them early), that I literally wore out. But I have not been able to find black linen ones that were afforable trouser style, I prefer to the top of the knee like a skirt only shorts for a different look. With the aging population, none of us like our thighs but the legs hold out for longer. So glad they're finally back in, hope they stay in.
I love Bermuda shorts. I like the smart tailored ones. I'm 57 and I would wear them on summer evenings with a t-shirt or shirt and a linen blazer.
The beauty of the long tailored ones is that you can take them away on holiday and wear them for the day or evening. Unlike the short 'beachy' ones.
I must admit I hate the colour khaki. I have never ever owned any item in khaki!
I've always loved denim.
I love both sweater vests and tailored waistcoats. I love the look and I find them really versatile for wearing under blazers for an extra layer of warmth, without feeling too bulky around the arms and shoulders.

I agree! I would not recommend leather, especially faux ones in Florida’s heat. I purchased an off-white leather midi, wore it out in the sun, and cracks developed in the fabric.

I'm going against the grain here, but I will never wear a bermuda short..but I am loving the pleated skirt trend for this season, a classy pleat is timeless! I'm also excited for the off the shoulder tops, and leather!

Nope on Bermuda shorts, Yes on anything denim, Box pleats A-Ok, Love me some khaki and orange, not a huge fan of strapless and one shoulder anymore( maybe back in the day), Like me some leather, adore vests, yup on body con with something overtop( and proper undergarments) , Love contrasting waistbands! , and anything that’s a combination of a sweater and a jacket is alright with me! 😃

Thank you! I don't often create videos focusing on Australia or New Zealand because 90% of my audience lives in the northern hemisphere so I create content that will be relevant to them. Hope that makes sense?
I think Bermuda shorts are a wonderful classic; golfers love them. Box pleats are fine as long as heels arent worn with socks. I don't like button front vests worn sleeveless. Pants contrasting waist bands brings back the music Rappers in past decades that showed their underwear. I do love the short jackets. Thank you.
