I'd make a "it's just like good old times" comment, but you know what? There's new magic at play here. Fantastic work, Ben, could definitely tell you had fun with this video.
A small detail you may have missed for number seven is that when N. Gin is stunned the percussion in the music stops, which makes sense since the mecha itself stops playing during the stun period.
From what I can tell, the reason why your goal in the Crunch fight isn't _hurting_ Crunch with the Wumpa Bazooka, but rather using it to get him to knock Cortex within your striking distance, is meant to show Crunch isn't all bad and that Cortex's control over him is weakening/unstable, foreshadowing that you don't take Crunch down but rather free him from Cortex's control, allowing him to join his fellow Bandicoots' side.
Ayyyyyy, thanks for recommending my channel. Very much appreciated! 😁 As basic an opinion as it is, I'd probably say N. Gin's boss in Warped is my favorite. Specifically from the PS1 version if only because your lasers have more punch to them. Crash 4's final boss and Dingodile's Warped and Twinsanity bosses are pretty close behind, as well.
And it's still unfortunate that N Tropy has such a trash record for boss fights aside from Warped. N-Tranced: Easily the worst boss in the game Twinsanity: Lackluster Crash 4: Easily the weakest boss in the game (admittedly it says more about how good the boss lineup in Crash 4 is than the quality of the boss).
@@BenjaMage So I'm not sure if this is bad timing, but I have to ask. You know of the stuff going on at Activision Blizzard recently (or rather, what has been going on for a long time), right?
Spoiler for Ben's #1 favorite boss below. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!! I was SO HAPPY you ranked Cortex's final boss fight in Crash 4 as number 1. I ALSO loved everything it did! The music, the context, the gameplay, it was such a magnificent finale!
I LOVE Cortex's portrait in the final boss fight. So cool and menacing. He might be more comical than in the PS1 days, but he can still be extremely competent and evil as shit when he wants to be.
Honourable mentions: Uka Uka(Crash on the Run) Female N. Tropy(Crash on the Run) Mr. Crumb(Crash on the Run) The game is now gone forever so there's no point discussing about them anymore. 13:53 - I love the way you described the differences in the behaviour of the energy bolts. Especially the fact that the pink ones are aimed right at you. I always knew that they were the ones that you needed to be the most careful about. But you described the differences better than I understood them. I guess I should have thoroughly read the Fandom page on his boss fight.
Something I really appreciate from the final world of Crash 4, is that its first level doesn't have any quantum masks, testing your pure platforming abilities with Crash and Coco, and then the next one fully tests you with all masks, including the final section with all the masks at once in the final bit of the level. It's a really solid finale :D
I have to strongly agree with you on crash warped having the strongest boss lineup. They’re all so unique both thematically and gameplay-wise. The only other game that comes close to having as consistently good bosses is crash 4. Man it still feels crazy that we actually have a crash 4. It feels like I’ve stepped into a parallel universe where every game past warped was never made, and there was no hiatus for the bandicoot. It’s funny because the wait for it felt agonizing, especially for the switch version, but it also felt like something announced yesterday
Funny because for me Wrath of Cortex will forever be the 4th game for me, even with all these flaws. Crash 4 was unenjoyable and unfunny in every moment of the playthrough.
Man, Ben, now this was a throwback. Considering your OG Crash bosses video was what introduced me to your channel (9 years ago seems like forever at this point), it gave me a nice flashback while watching this. I could also tell you got so much enjoyment from making this countdown, and it showed. As always, brilliant work, and I can't wait for your next one!
Ooh! Hello! A remake of- wait for it... The countdown that introduced your channel to me. Any by Butterfly effect, introduced me to a TONNE of new games, franchises, and people! I therefore have to say this to you, Ben. Thank you for helping me to broaden my gaming horizons! I now have friends I never thought I'd have and have played games I never would have considered or even heard of before. *Thank you so much!*
"REVERSE Gutair Hero" "Drum Villain" Aaaah, I see what they did there. Fun fact: The Percussion Bot's attacks are actually synced to the music. N Gin will even wait for the music for a cue to a pattern before attacking in between phases.
Oh god. It's been 9 years? Either way, excellent revisit of the very countdown that introduced me to your channel and made you the first UA-camr I've consistently followed. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go back to feeling really old.
I feel personally attached to the number 1 opening. Don’t worry, making fan-fiction isn’t a bad thing, considering our ideas are probably on par with the actual script writers.
Great picks on the countdown and shows that Cortex & N. Gin has amazing fights in the franchise that even Eggman would be jealous of them. XD (No wonder why those two are the most iconic baddies.) Boy, you sure have fun Crash ideas. :) I'm also jealous of ya. XD (Nah, we are Crash bros.) Wonder if you'll do a Top Spyro Boss List? Maybe after a possible Spyro 4. :)
As someone who watched you back when you mainly did top tens (your older videos) seeing you top tens makes me feel nostalgic. Love your current content more obviously but I'll always remember the old days Edit: if you think number 9's music is good listen to Man on the Internet's version. It's amazing
Man Robbie Daymond is in a lot of things I like like Persona 5, he was also Hunter in the Spyro remake, while Morgana's voice actress Cassandra Lee Moris was Elora, and now Crash Bandicoot
Oh God yes, the final boss in Crash 4 is amazing. I'd definitely say it's my favorite boss in the series as well. Also, I love Stephaniesparda's content.
Kind of funny to remember that I found your channel by accident because I typed One Winged Angel, that song got stuck in my head for a While at the time
Honestly, my two favorite lines from 3 are not so veiled threats after beating Dingodile and N Tropy "Ya thrashed me, mate. No worries... but soon you'll be up against **much worse** " - Dingodile "My time is up. But yours, soon will be, too..." - Dr Nefarious Tropy A threat that you'll die to the other bosses
Oh man, how good it is to finally finish this video. For context, I saw this video a bit after its upload date. I watch the video until the Number 1 entry, where I figure out it's the final boss against Cortex in Crash 4: IAT. Now, my brother and I have reached this point in the game, but we quit because the fight was getting a bit much for him. And, as much as I wanted to take over, he hasn't taken down a final boss himself in a long time, so this was a bit personal. So, as he and I didn't finish the fight against Cortex at that point, I stopped the video right then and there before I was spoiled about how the fight went down. Cut to he and I finally finishing things up as of last night, where we actually defeated him in about 20 minutes after our first attempts, and I finally finish this video now. What a wait I had to go through, but I'd say it was somewhat worth it.
So fun fact. The N Gin boss from 4 took me two hours. Because I forgot I could crouch. I like, did some stupid move where I jumped off the platform and back on when a high projectile came. Man. I felt so dumb watching this.
Color me surprised to see Warped Cortex and Warped Tropy lower on the list than in the original. Then again, as you've proved many times, your opinions changing can give me more and more surprises.
Actually youre doing the dingodile fight the hard way by waiting for the double jump. Doing a slide spin jump covers the crystals much easier completely trivializing the fight
Another great video as usual Black Mage Benjamin! Looking forward to seeing what else you have in store. If your looking to torture yourself, perhaps a review of the Titans games or a Top 15 Worst Crash Bandicoot bosses. Or if your wanting to end the celebration on a high note, a Top 20 Crash Bandicoot Levels.
No one could have expected this video to start with Ripto. In my opinion, Crash Twinsanity could have easily filled a good chunk of a top 15 (or maybe 20, whatever) single-handedly; that game was quite an improvement over most of the boss fights in the original Crash trilogy (especially the first two games). With a few exceptions like Uka Uka in a ice form predictably vulnerable to fire which is conveniently place below his feet and N. Tropy being there just for the sake of filling a gap between the next saving point and an intense chasing sequence with a walrus, Crash Twinsanity had some solid boss fights: great Neo Cortex reunion as the first boss fight, a cool giant Tikimon fight that makes the best use of the Cortex+Crash mechanics, Dingodile being a harder version of himself from Warped, an encounter with Madame Amberly to end our visit to her academy of evil and a great final boss fight with three phases and each of them having one of the 3 playable characters of the game (something that Crash 4 should have done).
Pinstripe is very dangerous in the Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled remaster. His bombs can home in on you backwards and feel like as if they're twice as strong as the regular ones.
Seeing that N. Tropy fight again just gave me the stupidest grin. I've been watching your videos since the early 2010's, so I've kind of come to associate that fight with you. Funny how that works. :P
Hey long time viewer, first time commenter here. I just wanna say that you really know your stuff with the Crash Bandicoot series. Keep up the good work
So I'm just gonna start this comment by saying... thank you. It was this video that reminded me of Black Mage Benjamin, one of my single favourite UA-camrs who I've been a fan of since 2015. I kind of forgot about Ben in 2018, but boy am I happy that I remembered him and got back into his content. With that being said, on to talking about this countdown (over a month after first watching it)! 15. I just realised, Ripto's floating in this battle, yet in Spyro 2 he uses a metal bird-thing to fly in his final phase. I dunno, maybe he picked up a new spell in the time between these games. 14. Hooray for leaps of faith! ...that is all. 13. The secret to making your game pop out - throw in a giant thing to fight early on! 12. You ever notice how the Wumpa Fruit are affected by normal earth gravity in the original Crash 2, whereas in the N. Sane version they fly in a much more space-suited manner? Another nice attention to detail. 11. Oh, yeah, spinning the boss off the arena looks fun. (and we actually end up seeing a similar idea later on in the list) 10. I can't talk about actually playing the fight because I haven't played... most Crash games, but this fight's always been a stand-out for me. I need to play the N. Sane Trilogy... 9. Thankfully the Double Jump doesn't completely break the fight, since you still have to double-jump over the barriers again to avoid the explosion. It's pretty cool that you unlock a second way to fight a boss after beating them. 8. I gave up on Wrath of Cortex before starting the fourth warp room... what a mistake. 7. How fitting that you gave Crash and Coco their Rawk-It Head costumes for this fight. I wonder what they think of N. Gin's music? 6. It was nice to see Fake Crash helping out. Not to mention getting a boss phase with the copter pack. 5. I love the inclusion of Aku Aku and Uka Uka in this fight. (and yeah, punching Cortex into the hole was what I brought up with #11) 4. I've come to love this fight's boss theme, a shame that the original Warped drowned it out with the sound effects. 3. With a fight like this, it makes you wonder why Dingodile just vanished until the revival after this game... 2. Pretty sure it was you talking about this boss (in your Top 15 Favourite Normal Bosses list) that introduced me to Crash Bandicoot, so thanks again! 1. That's five fights with Cortex on one list! How fitting, since he's usually the fifth boss you fight.
Good to see you back at doing what you do best: - though Quarter Guy and Fawful's Minion are close seconds at it - countdowns. During the time before this, I actually watched your older countdowns, and I have to say - you gotta remake some of your old countdowns. Or heck, maybe throw in a few new ones. I'd love to see you do some countdowns related to the Mega Man franchise, Ben! Otherwise, great video, and I can’t wait to see more in the future!
Watching your videos on Crash have gotten me interested in the series myself. Though on the note of possible scenarios future games could potentially cover, with Crash 4 introducing the quantum masks, I'd like to see a game involving the heroes and the quantum masks going up against the villains and the elementals from Wrath of Cortex. Not sure how that setup would occur, but I still think it could be fun
It's a bit of a realization when you realize that the original one was made for Crash's *16*th anniversary. Like, wow, you've really improved over those years.
K was surprised you actually did a top 10 after sticking to reviews only you mentioned months ago, but this is really cool! Awesome time to do it possibly one more time, then again you did do one.. I think last year or earlier this year I just recalled but still. The top 10 was good, and I loved there was basically no rules in it, like one per franchise and such, but your honest opinion of all boss fights that you played accross the series, it was really cool, and yes I expected the two entries from twinsanity too be on here, though not the entrapy from warped, I never saw the one time you tackled this topic. Hit to say what I liked was how you always imagined different Scinerios a franchise you grew with growing, I do that too, even today I'm I'm totally honest and... I wouldnt mind doing fan stories if I can. And have that dream fulfilled after all these years in the most recent game...... That was awesome bro, I'm happy for you bro, what a blessing God gave you huh? Not many people have dreams like that come true, so this was pretty cool. Plus I'm never going to stop jokingly go like "*clapping* YAY STORY TIME! " lol. And nice UA-camr you recommended, if I can I'll check him out. Awesome time bro, can't wait to see you next time bro. God Bless. P. S. Whose excited for the Olympics on right now!? Awesome were in Tokyo this year!
Bro i started watching your videos with the Veggie Tales video that you did then i saw you did a top 10 sonic bosses that you did with silver and i loved those ones
One big problem I have with the N. Tropy boss in Warped is just the fact that, instead of exposing a weakness through using a move that leaves him open or something along those lines, he simply ALLOWS you to hit him, which honestly makes him feel less compitent since the only reason appears to simply be "so you can beat him" and for no other reason. With other bosses in the franchise, it felt more natural when they use a move that backfires or just simply doesn't have defense (like Papu Papu), but N. Tropy simply allowing you to hurt him just seems... again, incompitent.
N Tropy should’ve been the 4th boss of Crash 3 with a bigger fight. He’s the new 2nd in command for this game and it makes sense for him to be later given he looks after the Time Machine. The sound design is incredible as well
What a great list, I completely agree with every entry on the list. N. Tropy took me by complete surprise though. After you mentioned Cortex, N. Gin, and Dingodile, and still had yet ANOTHER entry from Warped, I thought, who else is left? Certainly, he wouldn’t put Tiny this high. I had completely forgotten the very fight that basically showed us just how awesome N. Tropy was! I blame Crash 4, I still stand by the N. Tropy boss fight being kind of a let down in that game.
The saddest part of the spectators at the beginning of the fight in twinsanity… oxide is there but never has any involvement in the game. I was so excited to maybe see him in another game… nope just there for a second and then gone.
“I don’t want to have to include bosses from games like Crash Purple” “Starting off we have a boss from Crash Purple” Jk I love you Ben. I was a little disappointed at the postponing of the last video for this series, because I had no idea of what was going on, but now that I know what Activision is up to, I can say it was a good move. Really looking forward to what’s next, and good luck getting to 50K subs. When I brought that up in the Sonic Riders video, you were only at around 31K, but now you’ve got 33K. Let’s hope this trend continues, and even speeds up.
Anyone remember when 10 years ago Ben ripped off Alex's Metal Gear Solid 4 Liquid Ocelot fight segment for taking about Cortex in his final bosses list (the 2011 removed version)
Actually, you probably got this comment already a lot, but the Dingodile cheese can be done with the slide jump too. It's just a bit more difficult to pull off
0:44 Hey I Remember That Bosses Ideas List 19:53 "It's Guitar Hero Except There Are No Guitars & You're Not A Hero You're More Of A Villain" 24:49 🤨 26:24 *AH* 29:28 Funnie 31:12 Come On We've All Done That
Cool list! Great to see Dingodile from Twinsanity over the ine in Warped. The one in Warped are so popular, but i also think the one in Twinsanity is miles better. Really suprised to see Trophy so high also! This would be my list. As you can see, I really like the bosses with servel phases (I have only played the PS 1 and 2 games) 1 Komodo Brothers: Crash Bash 2 Oxcide: Crash Bash I don't get why no one talks about these 3 N Gin: Crash 3 4 Pinstripe: CTR 5 Cortex and N Gin: Twinsaniy 7 N Gin: Crash 2 8 Aircrunch: Crash TWOC 9 Dingodile: Twinsanity 10 Cortex and Crunch: Crash TWOC 11 Cortex: Crash 3 12 Brio: Crash 1 13 Madamme Amely: Twinsaniy 14 Pappu Pappu: Twinsaniy 15 Tiny: Crash 2
Sorry I missed the premiere. I was at work. In any case, great video. Crash Bandicoot's bosses, to me at least, always seemed pretty meh all the way around, with the only exceptions being N. Gin in Crash 3 and 4 and Cortex in Crash 3 and 4. As for your personal recommendation, I'm actually subscribed to her and have been watching her videos for a while now, though I do wish she would upload more often. One final question. What are your thoughts on Titans and Mind over Mutant, and which do you prefer?
The Best Boss In (Almost) Every Crash Bandicoot Game imo: Crash 1: N. Brio (Honourable mention to Cortex) Crash 2: N. Gin Crash 3: Tie Between N. Gin and Dingodile (Honourable mentions to every other boss) CTR: Pinstripe Crash Bash: Bearminator (Honourable mention to Papu Papu) Wrath of Cortex: Final Boss (Honourable mention to Air Crunch) XS/ The Huge Adventure: Dingodile (Honourable mentions to N. Gin and MegaMix) N. Tranced: N. Trance (Honourable mentions to Evil Coco and Fake Crash) Nitro Kart: Geary Twinsanity: Evil Twins (When it works) (Honourable mentions to Mecha-Bandicoot and Dingodile) Ripto's Rampage: Ripto Crash of the Titans: Uka Uka (Honourable mention to Arachnina) Crash of the Titans - DS: Nina (Honourable mention to N. Gin, Tiny, and some others)
A shame most of your old vids got the axe. Also. Jekyll Riparoo: While I appreciate the time it took for you to remake a countdown that was unfortunately deleted... *Twang* Hyde Riparoo: WHY WASN'T I IN THIS 1 2?!
Great list, only one issue despite it being your opinion: Pinstripe in Nitro-Fueled. I totally get it, he's more of a challenge in a game that's actually quite easy. But I couldn't enjoy his battle myself simply because of one fact: How he uses the bowling bombs. When I went against him, even if he just barely got ahead of me, he starts to *FREAKING SPAM THOSE DAMN THINGS!* It was very annoying and almost always cemented a win for him. I had to race him three times and it was annoying everytime, and didn't help that I wasn't good with the shortcut even when it would help. Note that I was playing *on EASY* difficulty. He spammed it like he was throwing candy from a spooky float during a Halloween parade, on the easiest mode of the game! It didn't help that the layout of the track hid the bowling bombs trajectory until way too late, especially when I drifted and was jumping(where you can't steer out of the way of somehow perfectly landing on it) I do think the other boss fights listed are cool(even if I've never played any of them yet, I need a memory card so i could save progress in Warped(yes, I got the game and a PS1 over the weekend tho it didn't come with a memory card lol)), but hey, opinions. I love Pinstripe as a character, with all his hilarious narm, but his boss fight in Nitro-Fueled can go suck on some Megaman X chicken... TL;DR I hate the weasle kart fight cuz he likes to spam the bomb button, but that's just me. Have an awesome day Ben, and sorry for the long comment! Love your vids!
I think the water and fire bosses in Wrath of cortex weren't bad. The water one challenged me as a kid and is one of 2 bosses without vehicles. The mech controls in the fire one could of been better, but I appreciate they made a boss out of a chase section.
The N-Gin boss fight in Warped kind of reminded me of Boss fights with GUN Mechas in Sonic Adventure 2, mostly because of the shoulder missiles, overall though I do really enjoy N.Gin's boss fights.
I played through only 50%-62.5% of Twinsanity, and never got Mind over Mutant. I still need to get Crash 4, but that can wait until Christmas or my next birthday... I'm gonna be 30 next year. 🎶And the songs that I have sung Echo in the distance, like the sound Of a windmill going round...🎶 Joke aside, my favorite crash bosses are. 15. Komodo Brothers These guys are underrated to me. I have a personal bias in the form of komodo dragons being one of my favorite animals in play here, but also they're just really fun to fight for me. I remember as a kid, either a friend or a cousin playing Crash Bandicoot 2 and showing me the Komodo Brothers boss fight. I was attracted to both the music, and the fact that it was kinda a two-on-one fight. That always stuck with me, and I always had a soft spot for this battle ever since. 14. Tiny Tiger (Huge Adventure) I know this is a weird one, but I always had fun squaring up against Tiny in the jungle. Part of it had to do with the fact Dingodile's theme plays during this fight (which low-key fit the tone of the battle in my honest opinion), and another part had to do with fighting him on a waterfall/tree environment. It was a fun fight for me, and is probably my favorite fight against Tiny in the entire series. 13. All boss races (Crash Nitro Kart GBA) I did not enjoy Crash Nitro Kart on the PS2. The controls were garbage, although I had fun on the antigravity sections, it could've been executed better, and overall it was messy. The GBA version on the other hand performed leaps and bounds better than the freaking console version. The track boundaries were kinda hard to navigate, but that was more due to poor eyesight on my part. I had a lot of fun racing against all the bosses on the GBA port. I had some issues with rubberband AI, but I had a much easier job/more fun beating them on the GBA than I did the actual console version of the game. My favorite racer to heat was Geary. 12. Arach-Nina/Uka Uka/Yucktopus I swear, I feel like the only person on the entire internet who actually enjoyed Crash of the Titans on PS2. Yeah, franchise rot set in and most of the humor was cringe even back then but the game had it's fun moments. John DiMaggio did a fun take as Uka Uka prior to voicing him again in the N. Sane trilogy, and the boss fights where you got to take control of the Yucktopus, Uka Uka, and Nina were fun. I didn't mind that it mostly boiled down to environmental destruction to progress the storyline, but it was still fun. 11. Papu Papu (Crash Bandicoot) Yeah, he's a weak boss. But criticize me for having nostalgia blinders on... I don't care. He was a good first boss. The hit boxes were slightly off, but he was a good first obstacle. 10. Nitrous Oxide (Crash Team Racing) I know for a lot of people he was a cheap boss, but for me that made taking him down all the more sweeter. With how smooth the controls on the original PS1 game were, I must've beat him with every character at least three times. I was the powerslide prow back in the day, no one could touch me. 9. The Bearminator He gave me a _lot_ of grief back in the day, but taking him down was still fun. Getting him to destroy 75% of the stage was always a fun little mini-challenge for myself once I got better at Crash Bash. Ironically, despite liking the challenge of beating him with just a small sliver of platform, I'm actually _insanely_ claustrophobic in real life. 8. Evil Crunch (N-Tranced) Everyone says the Evil Crunch is sooo easy, but he's always been a fun boss to return to while playing N-Tranced. The boss theme is superb, avoiding the nitro crates was fun vehicular platforming, and I enjoyed the flying carpet segments in the game so I always enjoyed myself. 7. N. Brio (N. Sane trilogy) As embarrassing as it is to admit, I never beat the original Crash Bandicoot on PS1 (yes... It's because of Slippery Climb), so the first time I actually got to face him was in the N. Sane trilogy. I never had any trouble with the hit boxes, but I have practically no depth perception, so when I died, it was due to personal error. Also, I may have purposely killed myself a couple times when I got up close to Brio in phase 1 just to see what would happen. lol 6. Fake Crash This is like the only time Crash has done a puzzle boss. It tripped me up the first time. But I did appreciate what they were trying to do. What always confused me though is why would crash pop when he touched Fake Crash? Either way, it was still fun, and my personal favorite boss in N-Tranced. 5. N. Gin (Crash Bandicoot: Warped) Like everyone else, I also think the original PS1 battle was better than the N. Sane battle. Fighting N. Gin on the moon and then Deep Space was always fun. And for the longest time, I didn't know Pura was in the backup cruiser for the longest time (because I'm blind). And yes, I too have a no hit kill in N. Gin in this battle as well. I was also able to take out his machine gun arms in the first phase without him needing to raise them. 4. Crunch/Rok-Ko Definitely my favorite boss fight from The Wrath of Cortex. The atlasphere was definitely the best gimmick in the entire game. Rolling around the arena was just so much fun, and while the controls were a little stiff, it was still engaging enough for me to have a good time. 3. Dingodile (Crash Bandicoot: Warped) What else can be said that hasn't been states and restated a thousand times at this point? Dingodile was such a fun boss to go up against. The setting, the music, the way you were able to cheese him after getting the double jump, and than later the tornado spin was awesome. 2. Big Bad Fox The Komodo Brothers are back... but this time they're armed to the teeth. Even though this fight was teeth-grittingly frustrating as a kid, when I got older I learned to appreciate the challenge of it all. You have to be on guard at all times. And while there was hardly any moment of reprieve, beating their Goliath of a machine, then facing them 2-on-1 for real this time was such an endorphin rush. It's funny looking back on things. Some of the more frustrating challenges as a kid became some of my favorite moments when I got older. I don't know if it's irony or just a product of growing up, but I find it funny that some people say Crash didn't have a good lineup of bosses. But hey, that's an opinion. 1. Dr. Neo Cortex (Crash Bandicoot: Warped) For me there was no other choice for number 1. Everything about this fight was perfect. I know there were tougher, and more challenging fights in the series, but none of them matched the spectacle and climax of this battle. Aku Aku couldn't help you because he was battling Uka Uka, you had to dodge lasers and mines, the arena was once again claustrophobic, everything built up to such a crescendo nothing could really top it, not that they didn't try. Crash vs. Cortex in the original Warped was a snapshot in history. A truly iconic moment in gaming, and I am glad I was able to appreciate it as a kid because after all this time, it still here with me. That's my list. I'm glad you redid this list Ben, it was fun to watch. And don't be embarrassed about your Crash fanfiction, I've recently got into making custom Yu-Gi-Oh cards. Right now I'm trying to create an archetype around the Beast cards that appeared in Duelists of the Roses: King Tiger Wanghu, Firewing Pegasus, Ancient One of the Deep Forest... since I got back into the game and watching the videos Dzeeff and The Duel Logs made on Gate Guardian, Flame Swordsman etc., it's been a personal goal of mine to make an archetype around my favorite cards... which I'm calling the Deep Forest archetype. It's going to be a series of Beast/Plant Xyz monsters that are meant to swarm the field with extra deck monsters with large quantities of Xyz material to fire off their effects on either player's turn. The hard part is balancing: I want the archetype to be good, but I don't want to overpower them just because they're my favorite. It's trickier than it sounds.
I'd make a "it's just like good old times" comment, but you know what?
There's new magic at play here. Fantastic work, Ben, could definitely tell you had fun with this video.
Now, if only we could get him to remake the Top 20 Worst Final Bosses vid from so long ago........
A small detail you may have missed for number seven is that when N. Gin is stunned the percussion in the music stops, which makes sense since the mecha itself stops playing during the stun period.
You know, I never actually noticed that, but that's brilliant.
@@BenjaMage Why didn't the Evil Twins made the list?

From what I can tell, the reason why your goal in the Crunch fight isn't _hurting_ Crunch with the Wumpa Bazooka, but rather using it to get him to knock Cortex within your striking distance, is meant to show Crunch isn't all bad and that Cortex's control over him is weakening/unstable, foreshadowing that you don't take Crunch down but rather free him from Cortex's control, allowing him to join his fellow Bandicoots' side.
Ayyyyyy, thanks for recommending my channel. Very much appreciated! 😁
As basic an opinion as it is, I'd probably say N. Gin's boss in Warped is my favorite. Specifically from the PS1 version if only because your lasers have more punch to them. Crash 4's final boss and Dingodile's Warped and Twinsanity bosses are pretty close behind, as well.
Hey, Stephanie. I saw your video on Battlefront 2. It was pretty good.
@@tonysonic456 I watched it last night; talk about convenient timing!
And it's still unfortunate that N Tropy has such a trash record for boss fights aside from Warped.
N-Tranced: Easily the worst boss in the game
Twinsanity: Lackluster
Crash 4: Easily the weakest boss in the game (admittedly it says more about how good the boss lineup in Crash 4 is than the quality of the boss).
25:52 Every time my sister does this fight, she always makes a joke about this scene.
I can see why.
PINGAS!
My favorite is Uka Uka from Titans. It goes from a simple boss fight to absolute chaos by the 3rd phase.
I'm gonna be honest. The entire final act of It's About Time is one of the best moments in any game I've ever played.
I definitely agree.
@@BenjaMage So I'm not sure if this is bad timing, but I have to ask. You know of the stuff going on at Activision Blizzard recently (or rather, what has been going on for a long time), right?
@@manuelalbertoromero9528 Yeah, I heard about that. Definitely a very unpleasant situation.
Oh hey, didn't expect to see you here
@@Jacob-TNK Well, I have been following Ben for quite a while now.
I know right! It's my favorite Crash boss that i liked it so much i replayed the boss over and over again!
18:28 I think it's because Cortex's mind control over crunch is stopped, as he says in the ending he was mind controled by cortex
I LOVE Cortex's portrait in the final boss fight. So cool and menacing. He might be more comical than in the PS1 days, but he can still be extremely competent and evil as shit when he wants to be.
Show of hands: how many of you said N. Tropy's pre-boss fight speech alongside him once he appeared?
(Also, so glad with the new #1 pick.)
Now you're on my time you little skunk! GIVE ME THE CRYSTALS!!
@@DeadlockDrago My time is up........but yours.....soon will be too.
@@RondoOfBloodX I don't even think the remake has him say that.

I like how people like the video even though the haven't like watched it. It's like someone already predicted this is going to be awesome.
I like it.
For a second I thought this was a Caddicarus video from the thumbnail. But I'm glad I found this channel
You mean to tell me you accidentally predicted the end of Crash 4? You epic madlad
Hi Ben! Nice to see you do a remake of the countdown video that introduced me to your channel years back.
I swear, your videos made me want to get the Quadtrilogy. So I have so much 'WHOA!' in my future.
He old video also introduced me to his top 10 or 15 but also sadly some are lost media. Please re made them. Or what ever. To youtuber.
Ooh!
Ah, I remember the old N. Tranced entry.
GET A LOAD OF THIS- GET A LOAD OF THIS- GET A LOAD OF THIS
"REVERSE Gutair Hero"
"Drum Villain"
Aaaah, I see what they did there.
Fun fact: The Percussion Bot's attacks are actually synced to the music. N Gin will even wait for the music for a cue to a pattern before attacking in between phases.
Most boss fights in Crash games are pretty lacking, but there are some good ones. This will be fun to watch.
Ok. First and foremost you didn't have to call us old fans out. Whew those old countdowns were one of a kind
As a newcomer, love the effort you put in your videos! loved this one, N Trophy on Crash 3 has a special place in my heart :)
XD (No wonder why those two are the most iconic baddies.)
Boy, you sure have fun Crash ideas. :) I'm also jealous of ya. XD (Nah, we are Crash bros.)
Wonder if you'll do a Top Spyro Boss List? Maybe after a possible Spyro 4. :)
As someone who watched you back when you mainly did top tens (your older videos) seeing you top tens makes me feel nostalgic. Love your current content more obviously but I'll always remember the old days
Edit: if you think number 9's music is good listen to Man on the Internet's version. It's amazing
My personal favorites:
15) N Gin (Crash 2)
14) N Brio (Crash 1)
13) Cortex (Crash 1)
12) Tikimon (Twinsanity)
11) Papu Papu (Bash)
10) Fake Crash (N Tranced)
9) All Crunch battles (WOC)
8) N Tropy (Warped)
7) N Tropy (N Tranced)
6) Uka Uka (Titans)
5) Aracnina (Titans)
4) N Gin (Warped)
3) Velo (CNK)
2) Cortex (Warped)
1) Oxide (CTR)
for tropy being one of your fav crash bosses you sure do love to pronounce his name wrong
Well, thanks for making me feel old for remembering your ol list vids XD
And hey, real good boss list! You've got good taste, man.
Kind of funny to remember that I found your channel by accident because I typed One Winged Angel, that song got stuck in my head for a While at the time
Valid, it's a solid song.
Thank you soo much for segmenting each section in the video!
Honestly, my two favorite lines from 3 are not so veiled threats after beating Dingodile and N Tropy
"Ya thrashed me, mate. No worries... but soon you'll be up against **much worse** " - Dingodile
"My time is up. But yours, soon will be, too..." - Dr Nefarious Tropy
A threat that you'll die to the other bosses
Maybe when Black Mage reaches 100k subs, he can read out one of his Crash fanfics.
Holy crap ive been watching you for nine years what
Actually you can slide/crouch jump over the crystals without using the double jump ability in Dingodiles boss fight.
I love this awesome Egg shape villain N. Trance 21:34
Thanks for reminding me how long it’s been since your old crash top 10 , makes me feel old .😑
Oh man, how good it is to finally finish this video.
I actually predicted ahead of time what number 1 would be. Great list Ben!
I agree about Pinstripe for CTR. The race was fun yet challeneging and it felt SO good when you beat him.

Keep up the good work
I love Crash Bandicoot tho! Fun fact I was born the same day it was released. I stream it alot! I'm from Trinidad and Tobago. 🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹 I subbed to u!
Thank you for the list Mr. Breaking Benjamin Mage
(and we actually end up seeing a similar idea later on in the list)
(and yeah, punching Cortex into the hole was what I brought up with #11)
Great countdown Ben.
Have you ever thought about doing a Top Number Countdown with Josh Scorcher/Fiery Joker?
I'd be down for it, but I'm not in direct contact with Josh, so I don't imagine that'll be happening any time soon.
@@BenjaMage Wishful thinking on my end I guess.
But you never know, he might contact you, I know that's just more wishful thinking.
The N in N. Gin is still a mystery to this day but I feel like it's Nitro so it would be a pun on both engine and nitrogen
But remember that it is BEN'S opinion and he did mention that it mainly a nostalgia factor
Your video hit me in the nostalgia feels man.inpoved your video.
Dingodile will always be one of my favs .
"Better get the butter. I’m about to make toast!"
11:37 in the Japanese it was cleared that those Creatures are part of his Soul
But then N.sane came said " what's soul?"
The saddest part of the spectators at the beginning of the fight in twinsanity… oxide is there but never has any involvement in the game. I was so excited to maybe see him in another game… nope just there for a second and then gone.
I remember the original crash bosses list. And damn I feel old.
Nice to see you doing top 10s again 👍
N. Gin is my favorite villain too and I love his boss fights so much (mostly the Crash 4 one)
“I don’t want to have to include bosses from games like Crash Purple”
“Starting off we have a boss from Crash Purple”
Jk I love you Ben.
It's just a bit more difficult to pull off
Much agreed with your number one pick. Second for me would ve Twinsanity's Dingodile.

With all the crazy gadgets he has, you'd think N. Gin would be the Big Bad of another game.
Cool list! Great to see Dingodile from Twinsanity over the ine in Warped. The one in Warped are so popular, but i also think the one in Twinsanity is miles better. Really suprised to see Trophy so high also!
This would be my list. As you can see, I really like the bosses with servel phases (I have only played the PS 1 and 2 games)

The Best Boss In (Almost) Every Crash Bandicoot Game imo:
Crash 1: N. Brio (Honourable mention to Cortex)
Crash 2: N. Gin
Crash 3: Tie Between N. Gin and Dingodile (Honourable mentions to every other boss)
CTR: Pinstripe
Crash Bash: Bearminator (Honourable mention to Papu Papu)
Wrath of Cortex: Final Boss (Honourable mention to Air Crunch)
XS/ The Huge Adventure: Dingodile (Honourable mentions to N. Gin and MegaMix)
N. Tranced: N. Trance (Honourable mentions to Evil Coco and Fake Crash)
Nitro Kart: Geary
Twinsanity: Evil Twins (When it works) (Honourable mentions to Mecha-Bandicoot and Dingodile)
Ripto's Rampage: Ripto
Crash of the Titans: Uka Uka (Honourable mention to Arachnina)
Crash of the Titans - DS: Nina (Honourable mention to N. Gin)
Crash: Mind Over Mutant: Crunch/brio
N-Sane Trilogy: N. Gin (3)/ Dingodile
Crash 4: Cortex (2nd fight) (Honourable mention to N. Gin)
Crash On The Run: N. Oxide (Honourable mentions to Nina, N. Gin, Tiny, and some others)
A shame most of your old vids got the axe. Also.
Jekyll Riparoo: While I appreciate the time it took for you to remake a countdown that was unfortunately deleted...
*Twang*
Hyde Riparoo: WHY WASN'T I IN THIS 1 2?!
Great job with this Mavy! Can you do a list of your least favorite as well. Oh and my favorite Crash boss is Dingodile from Twinsanity.
What was the music that played at the beginning of each number
"Crash to Ashes" from Wrath of Cortex.
It didn't help that the layout of the track hid the bowling bombs trajectory until way too late, especially when I drifted and was jumping(where you can't steer out of the way of somehow perfectly landing on it)
I do think the other boss fights listed are cool(even if I've never played any of them yet, I need a memory card so i could save progress in Warped(yes, I got the game and a PS1 over the weekend tho it didn't come with a memory card lol)), but hey, opinions.
Even if the boos battle in one of the most easy ones, the chase of Megamix have an special spot in my heart. More after Nitro Fueled.
10:40: the one joke Benjamage mentioned in his Crash Boom Bang stream.
🎶And the songs that I have sung
Echo in the distance, like the sound
Of a windmill going round...🎶
Joke aside, my favorite crash bosses are.
15. Komodo Brothers
These guys are underrated to me.
14. Tiny Tiger (Huge Adventure)
I know this is a weird one, but I always had fun squaring up against Tiny in the jungle.
13. All boss races (Crash Nitro Kart GBA)
I did not enjoy Crash Nitro Kart on the PS2.
12. Arach-Nina/Uka Uka/Yucktopus
I swear, I feel like the only person on the entire internet who actually enjoyed Crash of the Titans on PS2.
11. Papu Papu (Crash Bandicoot)
Yeah, he's a weak boss. But criticize me for having nostalgia blinders on... I don't care. He was a good first boss. The hit boxes were slightly off, but he was a good first obstacle.
10. Nitrous Oxide (Crash Team Racing)
I know for a lot of people he was a cheap boss, but for me that made taking him down all the more sweeter. With how smooth the controls on the original PS1 game were, I must've beat him with every character at least three times. I was the powerslide prow back in the day, no one could touch me.
9. The Bearminator
He gave me a _lot_ of grief back in the day, but taking him down was still fun. Getting him to destroy 75% of the stage was always a fun little mini-challenge for myself once I got better at Crash Bash. Ironically, despite liking the challenge of beating him with just a small sliver of platform, I'm actually _insanely_ claustrophobic in real life.
8. Evil Crunch (N-Tranced)
Everyone says the Evil Crunch is sooo easy, but he's always been a fun boss to return to while playing N-Tranced. The boss theme is superb, avoiding the nitro crates was fun vehicular platforming, and I enjoyed the flying carpet segments in the game so I always enjoyed myself.
7. N. Brio (N. Sane trilogy)
As embarrassing as it is to admit, I never beat the original Crash Bandicoot on PS1 (yes... It's because of Slippery Climb), so the first time I actually got to face him was in the N. Sane trilogy. I never had any trouble with the hit boxes, but I have practically no depth perception, so when I died, it was due to personal error. Also, I may have purposely killed myself a couple times when I got up close to Brio in phase 1 just to see what would happen. lol
6. Fake Crash
This is like the only time Crash has done a puzzle boss. It tripped me up the first time. But I did appreciate what they were trying to do. What always confused me though is why would crash pop when he touched Fake Crash? Either way, it was still fun, and my personal favorite boss in N-Tranced.
5. N. Gin (Crash Bandicoot: Warped)
Like everyone else, I also think the original PS1 battle was better than the N.
4. Crunch/Rok-Ko
Definitely my favorite boss fight from The Wrath of Cortex. The atlasphere was definitely the best gimmick in the entire game. Rolling around the arena was just so much fun, and while the controls were a little stiff, it was still engaging enough for me to have a good time.
3. Dingodile (Crash Bandicoot: Warped)
What else can be said that hasn't been states and restated a thousand times at this point? Dingodile was such a fun boss to go up against. The setting, the music, the way you were able to cheese him after getting the double jump, and than later the tornado spin was awesome.
2. Big Bad Fox
The Komodo Brothers are back... but this time they're armed to the teeth.
1. Dr. Neo Cortex (Crash Bandicoot: Warped)
For me there was no other choice for number 1.
