- With the release of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice upon us, I wanted to have a moment to revisit why the cult classic Beetlejuice (1988) is one of our favorite spooky films. In this video, we explore the themes in Beetlejuice, how Beetlejuice's character has been received over the years, the magic of the practical effects, and why the film has stood the test of time...receiving a sequel THIRTY SIX years later. I hope you enjoy this cozy, magical moment of me fanghouling and paying tribute to one of the most iconic spooky films by Tim Burton!

I LOVE Beetlejuice! I've rewatched it many times. Love Tim Burton movies! Love Winona Ryder in it! I've grown to really appreciate Catherine O'Hara's performance. She's a comedic queen. My favorite scene is the dinner scene with banana boat song. I cant wait to see the new movie on Sunday. I'm also going to the musical in October.
Omg Mandy I'm just getting caught up watching your video and I have so much to say 💜 1st of all I literally just saw this movie on TBS yesterday but in Spanish and it was so weird trying to compare the lyrics..I can't believe it's been 38yrs for a remake this movie is such a classic it's on my top movies of all time I've been a fan since before it was popular...Mandy I still have my VHS tape from the 80's 💜 I'm just so hyped to see the sequel 😊 and let's not forget the cartoon version they had in the 80's it was a classic 💜
One of the best scenes is when Lydia and her family has the first dinner in the house and her outfit is iconic and she’s just so moody.❤
Second best is when barb punches the sandworm. I feel like her dominance over the sandworm was foreshadowing her taming it, and riding it to eat Beetlejuice at the end. Loved it.
@@aehisel I LOVE that! Never thought of it as foreshadowing but can definitely see that. 💟
First off, I love your room!!!! I’m catching up on your videos! Thanks so much for this! Can’t wait to see the new one 💜💚🖤
I liked seeing Adam's model in the earlier parts of the movie when it was all lit up with the hanging string lights above it. That was always so pretty to me for some reason. Otherwise, the ending scene with Beetlejuice waiting in line between the shrunken head guy and voodoo priest was so funny to me. Great timing with the upload too! I just rewatched Beetlejuice yesterday.
@@darkentriesx thank you! Ooo I love that, it’s a very cozy and heartwarming scene! lol I love I hearing these responses cus that ending wouldn’t have occurred to me. You must be excited about Bob then!
@@mandyspooks that's his name? I love that. I saw that he was a part of the marketing and now, after the rewatch, I'm particularly excited to see him again haha
I don’t know about favorite scene but for me the most memorable scene is the hallway scene with all the doors. And they opened one door for the lost souls. It had been a reoccurring nightmare that I had since I was a kid and the phobia of opening the wrong door. And every time I see that scene, it low key gives me anxiety.
@@Lo-gd9sf that’s a good one! I wouldn’t have even thought of that one lol sorry to hear it gives you anxiety tho 🫶🏻
This movie came out before my time (I was born two years later) so I haven't seen it in a LONG time. Totally rewatching it before I go see the sequel so I don't miss anything!!
Yess, I highly recommend rewatching! 💜💚
👻 80’s Movies were the Best 👻
I have always loved Lydia outfits in the movie she's always my favorite character in the movie my favorite scene there's a lot of them I like to scene where they put the sheets on and the dad opens the door and he thinks it's Lydia 🤣
I never got that he wanted to do anything with Lydia, he was just looking for a way out of te afterlife and he needed to marry someone. Maybe that's just what I took from it.
Yeah, agreed. I think the feedback I've heard in general is that he's a perv and disrespectful because of the way he treats Barb, so they fear he'll be the same way with Lydia. Buuuut I have a feeling we're getting a different Lydia/Beetlejuice in the sequel 😀
Not gonna lie, I'm scared I'm gonna be disappointed by the new movie. Crossing fingers!!!
@@redthunder7118 spoiler free review coming in the next hour or two to @theghoulmates. I recommend going and enjoying it! It feels weird at first and then it takes off 💜
