araqx It is really hard to animate a character with different clothing each time. The clothing each have to have their own model on paper and then be transferred for animation.
I like that Killua's dad is just a crazy beast-like lion man for the sake of making him really intimidating and monstrous, but then Killua takes after him so it translates into him just randomly becoming a kitty for seemingly no real reason.
