  • My Rarest Bottles - Part 2 of 2 (Tequilas, Rums & Vodkas)
    Here we have all my rarest bottles on one table. This video (part 2), showcases my top tequilas, rums & vodkas (plus a few other miscellaneous bottles). A few of them are so new to my collection they've never made it onto any of my previous videos. Geez, that reminds me, I didn't pull my new Gosling's Old Family Reserve rum to show on this video! Oh well, look for it on my next "New Bottles" video. Well thank you all for the support & I hope you enjoy these latest videos!
    As of 8-11-2012, my current bottle count stands at 888 total bottles. I have 540 different ones on the bar & another 348 in back stock. I'm a Certified Specialist of Spirits and I've been actively researching & collecting for the last 18 years. What started as a small basic bar has transformed (with the help & understanding of my wonderful wife) into what I think is a pretty nice collection. Thank you for looking and sharing in my hobby.
    Cheers!

      I usually scratch the labels and recycle them. If they’re really nice looking bottles - and are thick and stable - I might use them as a oil lamp on my patio. Cheers!

    Oddly enough, they offer it here in Moosonee all the time. I love it.

    Thanks for your reply. Well, I'm anxiously waiting for a bottle of Havana Club 15 Anos Grand Reserva. Not sure if you're in the LA area, but if so, I would certainly welcome you to partake with me and a few of my compadres. My opinion is that hard to get items should always be shared, but in moderation.:-)

    I would seal that 1906 bottle in a safe.

    Very impressive! I noticed you didn't have any Havana Club in your rum collection. I know its a hard find, but one of my all time favorites. What are your thoughts about cuban rum?

    What do you think of the Ron Zacappa XO?

    • @LiquorHound
      @LiquorHound  9 років тому

      Erin Jones - I love it, but for the average rum drinker, I'm not sure I'd say it's definitely worth the extra money over the standard Ron Zacappa 23. Cheers!

    Reposado and añejo. What it means?

    • @LiquorHound
      @LiquorHound  6 років тому +1

      Reposado by legal definition is tequila rested in oak barrels between 60 and 364
      days. Añejo (Aged), is matured 1 to 3 years in the barrel. Extra Añejo (Extra Aged), is aged 3 years or more. Cheers!

    Which is YOUR all-time favorite tequila?

      Hmm... I really enjoy the old Porfidio Barrique, but I think I'll go with Patron en Lalique Serie 2 (it's crazy expensive but truly unique with fresh strawberries accompanying the caramelized agave). Cheers!

    do you open and drink every bottle you get?

    • @LiquorHound
      @LiquorHound  8 років тому

      Not every bottle, but very close (probably 90-95%). That's why the use of an argon gas system is a must for me when I'm resealing all my pours. Cheers!
