Nice video! Poliholi is a beautiful beach but there are very strong undertows there when the waves are big like they were that day! Please be very safe and careful swimming out there and learn about the undertows and how to swim around them. If you catch it on a nice calm day that water is heavenly, clear and generally safe. But once we found someone on the beach who had drowned due to rough ocean conditions. Please everyone remember to exercise caution and safe judgement before entering any body of water!❤
Thank you and we appreciate the advice. That was very tragic to find someone who drowned. I had a bad experience at the beach when I was a kid and ill never forget it. I learned not to take any body of water for granted.
Hi, dearest friends! Well, I have to say that this really feels like a little paradise! What a wonderful place you have discovered! Absolutely stunning! I love the sea, the ocean...for me it is the most spectacular view that can exist. In every season and in every weather. Guys, wishing you all the best and thanks once again for bringing me with you! HUGS and lots of love and my huge like, as always! Renata
Growing up going to the ocean it was flat so it wasn't very exciting other then enjoying the waves and the sand. But seeing mountains and the ocean that is something else. I can't wait to visit your country and see the beaches, I bet they are amazing. Thanks my friend and have a great weekend.
We were just there yesterday. Been there in a rental mini van, for door sub compact and yesterday in a Nissan Rogue. Definitely an easy drive (but bumpy) if you take your time and understand vehicle dynamics. But I will say that when the sun is out is it a most magical beaches with bathrooms, running water and shaded areas to eat. The rock mountain ledges behind the beach are awesome, too. We go out there every time we visit Kauai.
When we drove to Polihale a few years ago, the potholes were huge, the road was narrow and both sure of the road had stickery bushes that would scrape the sides of our car, no matter what (just room for a single car). It was beautiful when we got there, but haven't gone back because of the risk to any rental car.
This confident ‘overlander’ provides an inaccurate assessment of Polihale Currently. It’s still 10 very rough miles round trip. Yes its very manageable with a lifted Tacoma which is the appropriate vehicle. You’re taking your chances with a passenger car. Certainly calling it a highway is empty talk and not very helpful for all the people not riding on 33” tires.
Everyone has a different bumpy level which wouldn't make it inaccurate statement. Try driving around Novia Scotia that will change your definition of bumpy.
Yes those potholes were on the way but they weren't to deep. We saw a sports car and a van going down the road. So I think it's going to depend on the driver and weather conditions.

That sounds amazing! That was one of our favorite stops as well.

That road certainly has changed since then. It's super wide with some potholes but nothing to bad.

Are those big potholes at the end of the video on the road to Polihale? Could a slow moving sedan make it out there with no problems?

Hi. Great video. We are doing the same thing in just a few weeks. I would really like to ask a few questions - could I email you?
