Fury lost the fight and the only reason he was not knocked out cold is because the ref cheated and jumped in to save him. Ref had no business doing that.

He did what the rulebook says. If a fighter is only being held up by the ropes or corner then thats considered a knockdown. Realistically there shoudlve been multiple 8 counts cause fury was just being saved by the ropes multiple times. I like this version of fury, great post fight response. I feel his dad ruined his chances, both before and during the fight, always in his ear and not letting Sugar speak to him. His father has always been a disgrace of a man, living of Tysons back and this fight showed it. For the rematch he needs to remove the family and just fight with his team in the corner and it may well be a different outcome.

He bounced of the ropes 3 times. If you are going to give a standing 8 do it on the first or second and not when he found himself on the corner with nowhere to go. The ref should have 1) gave him as standing 8 after the first rope bounce, 2) stopped the fight when it was clear Fury was no longer capable of defending himself, or 3 allow Usyk to hammer way at him in the corner for the stoppage.

The Fury haters say the most ridiculous things. He fought, he didn’t get the decision and he has been professional about it. What more do you guys want? Are the people who have watched his 17 year career supposed to dog him because he lost a split decision? Obviously, none of the Fury haters have ever been in the ring as I have. If that bomb by Usyk doesn’t land in the 9th, we aren’t even having this conversation. I certainly realize all aspects of the fight make up the entire 12 rounds. This is one of those fights where one punch made the difference. After 7 rounds. CBS has Fury up 6-1, Yahoo sports 5-2, Al Jazeera 5-2, etc. Compubox had Fury out landing Usyk 101-72 through 7. Tyson got rocked and didn’t recover. It’s part of the sport but let’s not be ridiculous and act like this is not the case. Congrats to Usyk…Undisputed!

Clean victory for Usyk, he won 8 rounds and did KO. Referee saved Fury from stoppage and one of the judges was blind enough to help Fury on fake points, what a disgrace. Fury had no decency to accept clear defeat, what a shame. Amazing job for Usyk in beating a much bigger man.

Fury made 2 mistakes in this fight
1) Didn't pushed for a KO on round 6, when Usyk was totally out of his senses, after 2 heavy power punches, Fury instead went for the quantity over power, and gave Usyk the life support he needed
2) in Round 9, after Usyk took his soul with that counter punch, Fury should have go down himself to get the protection count immediately......the fact he tried to remain on his feet allowed Usyk to connect at least 10 heavy power punches which DEMOLISHED Fury....he wasted TWO rounds to recover from that punch (otherwise, he would have been fine on round 10), and by round 12 the cards were already settled into Usyk (round 12 was won by Fury, so imagine how different would have been to be on his feet on round 10 and 11 also)

Усик не мав відповіді на удари, він просто стояв і бив.... Бій змінився лише у 8 раунді, коли він зламав ніс...... фактично Ф'юрі виграв 12 раунд, якби він не дозволив себе обіграти в 9 раунді, до 10 раунду він би відновився і міг би досягти нічиєї за рахунком.

Усик відкрив друге дихання коли Фьюрі вже підсів і зробив свою роботу по очкам, це ж вже було з Джошуа два рази, і от зараз. Джошуа теж міг забити Усика коли притис його до канатів і що зробив Усик? Він вімкнувся і виграв останні раунди, як і тут. Тож Фьюрі потрібно було махати руками якщо б він хотів як ви пишете його покласти на ринг. Я ж кажу, якщо Фьюрі буде багато махати руками, він втомиться швидше і зловить удари Усика ще раніше. Це моя думка, може буде якось інакше. Реванш покаже, якщо він буде.

Had the ref been fair in this fight, Fury wouldn't have beaten the count. It's only fair to say now, the ref saved him.

The ref made questionable calls, is what people can fairly point out. Tyson hit the ropes once before after he got rocked. The ref did nothing. Tyson got bounced one more time, didn't do anything. Tyson was well on his way down before Usyk tagged him with looping left but that shot is what made him stumble into the corner. That's the only time the ref made that standing 8 count. Now when he gestures towards Tyson after the count is done, is what people should be talking about. Tyson wasn't responding the way he should have been and that ref was too lenient in checking on him. No come forward, no walk left or right, none of that. That was crucial to not getting finished and Usyk missing the KO. The ref didn't rob him, or cheat him, but that 9th round was misjudged.

Everyone makes up their own rules, saying the referee saved him. He shouldn't have stopped it, its a championship fight, he was going down and the ropes held him up the referee started counting. Its the right call. Not to mention, fury won round 10 after he was knocked down in round 9. I had him winning by 1 round or a draw if you want to give usyk a round in 1-6.
Extremely happy for Usyk, he deserved it and is an all-time great and current p4p #1.
Gutted for Fury, especially the way he got hurt in this fight, but it is clear he is just fighting for money at this point, or mostly at least. He made a mistake in the eighth round keeping his hands down and was getting caught with overhand lefts all night. Lacked the discipline and focus to keep his hands up. I would have been gutted to see Usyk lose as well, though, and the better fighter won tonight.
Looking forward to the rematch. What a great fight tonight was. A fight well worth the magnitude.
Would love to see Fury carry the momentum he had in this camp into the next one and come to the rematch even more disciplined and fight ready, but sadly I don't see it happening and see mostly the same result in the rematch. Usyk deserves all the plaudits in the world. However I have said from beginning that the aggressive and simplistic Kronk Style was all wrong for Fury in his fight against a complex jackrabbit and relatively sturdy Usyk. Sugar Hill and Tyson Fury prepared for a 7 round fight. They both stated that.
The problem with that is what happens if Usyk makes it to the 8th round? Hill and Fury did not properly prepare for a 12 round fight. That is why Fury's legs were shot in the later rounds. Fury should have thrown and landed a variety of jabs on a more frequent basis from long distance. Yet he refused to use his height and reach advantage.
If Fury had fought like that against Klitschko 8.5 years ago as he did against Usyk, he would have lost. Going for a KO against Usyk makes no sense as trying to achieve a KO against Klitschko made no sense then. That aggression is too simplistic and it would have cost Fury the victory in Germany in 2015.
Tyson Fury needs to get another trainer to train him for this October rematch. John Fury is too emotional and imbalanced. Ben Davison will be busy preparing Anthony Joshua for his September fight. The only trainer who could help Fury triumph in that rematch against Usyk is his former trainer, Peter Fury. Tyson Fury needs to return to his roots because that is the only way he can defeat the complex Usyk. Peter Fury taught his nephew Tyson Fury all the fine points of the sweet science of boxing. Tyson Fury needs that more than ever.
Love his humble demeanor after a tough loss. God bless you Fury! Usyk is just borrowing the belts for a few months, but you'll have them back in October.
