I have watched many of Neil's interviews. He really does not need prompting. I would love the opportunity to spend a day with Neil. Just think how many thoughts he has that are relevant but are not a part of any interview.
I really love it when Dr Tyson is on a show or hosting an event (or whatever) where everyone appreciates his humour and everyone has a good time. I hate it when he is laughing alone a lot of the time. I'd have to say we have a very similar sense of humour, I get when he is joking ... and the fact he does it so often rather than being so stuffy .... I have nothing but respect and love for us man!

45:00 I hated school because I had to wake up early and spend my whole day in a place I couldn't use the computer. School isn't for learning it's a boot camp for working a 9 to 5 job. It's getting us ready for the rest of our working-class lives.
Every video I watch where Neil Degrasse Tyson is giving an explanation, I don't mind the size of the video. Two hours, three hours, don't matter to me. I even do my online working while listening to this man explain things.
Neil DeGrasse Tyson! 85 young or old and have just seen this man for the first time, two days ago and am pissed off because it took many decades to happen. Was I under a rock somewhere? I flew airplanes, married a wonderful speck of dust from a star somewhere and had wonderful children, grandchildren, and finally Great Grandchildren. When doing a test that gets you an unexpected result or failing result, you should always remember what Edison said when asked..."You failed hundreds of times to create a light bulb; and he replied, No I didn't, I just found hundreds of ways not to create a light bulb!!"You should never feel that you failed, you should look at that result as an opportunity to redirect you're efforts to find the correct result.
First of all Edison was a dick he killed animals to prove his point and he didn’t invent the light bulb but yeah failure is learning because you weren’t born with all the knowledge of the universe predisposed in your mind.
@Make Me Believe i believe his-tory says he waited until tesla was flat broke or dead and yanked them from under his feet. Your point still remains valid!!
Thank you Dr. Tyson for sharing your knowledge with us. If anyone cares about the state of humanity at large....read some of the comments for this video. First of all remember that everyone who gave any type of negative comment, first clicked on this video. Intelligent people don't waste time trolling videos of genius level people with negative comments, just to make them feel better about themselves. Too many people like this exist. They are everywhere, and they are breeding like bunnies. Even if climate change, or threat of nuclear war, or killer asteroids weren't a possibility, people who think, and act like this are the reason that humanity isn't going anywhere but extinct.

Could listen to this genius forever. He can speak in ordinary English about complex subjects. His mind is so rational. Pity he is not in charge of education worldwide. If he was we would have a great world society. Respect Mr deGrasse Tyson. 🙂🌲☘️
great interviewer. Just prompts Neil to get him talking, doesn't intrude.
prpmpt?
Neil????
Come on he he
Well so that this doesn’t be a monologue!
Your right. Neil does invoke great interest and intrigue with what he is explaining. Great interview
I have watched many of Neil's interviews. He really does not need prompting. I would love the opportunity to spend a day with Neil. Just think how many thoughts he has that are relevant but are not a part of any interview.
I’ve noticed Neil tends to interview himself because he goes in depth when he speaks.
"To know that we know what we know,
and to know that we do not know
what we do not know,
that is true knowledge."

QPDS THANK YOUR QP! A STATEMENT MORE REVELANT TODAY!!!
Neil is the most down-to-Earth astro-physicist alive.
Pun intended.
Standard Havok he is a pork chop chasing clown
Except you are very, very wrong.
If Neil was a Jazz musician, he would be Coltrane, Oscar and Miles meshed together.
oscar as in peterson? interesting choice. not arguing that he wasn't a great jazz musician, just often overlooked.
This Man Neil Is Absolutely Brilliant, Highly Educated More Of A
Genius, & So Completely Amazing!”
Thank You For Sharing This With The World ♥️
Mr. Tyson is very sincere about his purpose on planet earth, I like that💜
Sometimes, when listening to Mr Tyson, you forget he is a very clever astrophysicist. He he such a good communicator. If my physics teacher at school was half as good as him (and Prof. Brian Cox) I wonder what I'd be doing now.
I loved your comment about learning how to behave around others who have great ambitions too.
You put your magnificent intelligence to good use by combining it into so many delicious bites of wisdom which have been guided by the honesty and integrity of a truly good man. And like one of the viewers said, "I love listening to Neil DeGrasse Tyson" too.
We need more and more of you Mr, deGrasse Tyson. Just love how down to earth he also is when his mind is soooo much higher above so many people like me. LOL
Delighted to go to sleep listening & Learning with my iPhone tuned to your interviews with this amazing Fellow Human named Tyson Gratefully yours MTL, MD aged 82 as of 8/7/38 & still going strong
"Neptune the last planet in the solar system" and then his look. Priceless 🔭
Yes, start at 34:35 to grasp the concept, for those that don't know how many planets are in our solar system. (35:28
is right before the moment)
@@producerk8247 the look was for the people that want to continue to call Pluto a planet.
i watched the whole video and im pressing repeat to watch it again
Memorise it and quote it to friends randomly. They will think you are a genius.
@@lewisner Or far better, understand it.
The Big Bang and the first 10 seconds of the universe has never and will never be explained better
Spectacular. As for many of the comments.. Your honor I give you “exhibit A”regarding Tyson’s commentary on the state of our educational system in the United States.
An exceptional imparter of complex facts, theories and smarts that give a lot of us an opportunity to 'peek behind the curtain', please keep doing the thing you do Mr Tyson. Thank you MarkAustralia
We need more teachers like Mr. Tyson. I think I would have paid more attention in school if he was my teacher!
Neil is incredible! I could listen to him all day!
Why does this look like it was recorded in 1993
I thought it was and then they started talking about Trump so I had to check haha
It's called pixel resolution.
When you burn a video onto your computer the rendering process between downloading onto your computer to uploading it online is going to force distortion.
+StonagePwnage. lol good joke...

Leaving school with a exuberance, is simply about freedom.
I totally agree 🌹
This is absolutely Amazing,3 hours of classic Neil de gryasse Tyson can't ask for more❤️❤️💖
45:00 I hated school because I had to wake up early and spend my whole day in a place I couldn't use the computer. School isn't for learning it's a boot camp for working a 9 to 5 job. It's getting us ready for the rest of our working-class lives.
What a powerful interview, Love you Dr. Tyson!
Peace and Harmony go hand in hand.
This guy is the best interviewer ever.he is for sure the fan of science as he just ask short but important question and then Neil degrasse just talk.
I COULD LISTEN TO NEIL FOR HOURS....I LOVE THIS MAN'S BRAIN...ALSO I AGREE...NELLYFISH!!
Yay a long dose of Neil haha
I love listening to him talk, such an interesting guy
I could listen to Neil all day...
Every video I watch where Neil Degrasse Tyson is giving an explanation, I don't mind the size of the video. Two hours, three hours, don't matter to me. I even do my online working while listening to this man explain things.
That's my favorite person right there.
Reaper0004 I'm with you I could listen to this guy all day long. Is their a life after? or do we just return to Carbon, oxygen-nitrogen,etc.? I have to attend one of his lectures. many questions are swirling around in my brain.
There is always time to learn and find joy in discovering new ideas.
Literally nobody:

Me: Because the sun's out.
NDT: Im going to crush your whole existence.
That's what I told he idiot who thought he could stop a train by standing on the tracks. LOL
@@SMgirlsarah I hope that was original...
This interviewer asks good questions.
It's always fun to learn with Neil Degrasse tyson
Finally, a decent interviewer. He is actually letting him talk.
This proves knowledge is the salvation of man kind!!! This is true education with a great personality!! Ty NDT!!!
Nothing can be forever because it will have to have being before it began.
Thank you so much for this upload.
He is so fast he could talk for hours and still be interesting and making sense
Btw the comment section is full of triggered Christians.
In a true Neil deGrasse fashion he’s been asked the question how do we know that universe is 14 bill years old - before the answer came we learned about how scientific experiments work, who is the sponsor, we had brief history lesson, we learned how the industrial revolution came, we learned about cars and etc. you gotta love Neil. Thank you man …
I can listen him all day long. I’m a fan.
Anything that's Neil for more than a hour =must watch.
Much silliness.
Neil deDumbass Tyson asked about the start of the universe and if he believes in God:
Larry King, "Who started all this; do you believe in God?"
Neil, "The proper question should be who or what started it, but I don't know. If I don't know I'm going to say I don't know."

What we KNOW and have NO doubts about...
Real science says nothing does nothing. Real science says if there was something there already it must fit with the evidence of what we know. We know the 1LT says there's a conservation of energy. It can change forms and neither can be created or destroyed. Creation cannot happen by natural means. The 2LT has various aspects, one being the universe is winding down, entropy. Usable energy is becoming less usable, so at one point usable energy was at its max. This all points to a supernatural creation, by a supernatural creator at a certain point in which matter, space and time were created. When I read how it can happen otherwise, ALL the fools resort to science-fiction. Once a supernatural creation is accepted, then the next step is finding proof of what supernatural power did it.
Neil does not know BASIC science. Not only can't we have creation without God, Neil does not know that we also can't have science without God. The laws of nature can only come from a Lawgiver, God.
Tyson says his crap at about 2:00 in the video below about the eye evolution. It is proven false in the rest of the video. But to dumbasses, to hell with details and what the evidence shows. Your agenda is all that matters.

I like these physics guys...physics is the new rock 'n roll!
Tyson said that his father is wise. I suspect he ahas a little of that as well. Fascinating discussion. His passion for knowing is infectious.
for a brief time in my life i was a flatearther.but then i got off drugs and i must apologize to all and to Neil because man was i wrong and was you right.so thank you for giving me the facts and steering me the right way.
I salute you and congratulate you. People like you restore my faith in humanity.
Tyson is a great communicator, walking in the footsteps of Sagan and Feinman... marvellous stuff... Thak you for posting.
ThePigvincent - Somewhat better than Sagan, but not in Feynman’s league.
what a wonderful person Dr Tyson is
never a boring moment with Prof Tyson..

This is such an amazing and in depth interview! I'd love to see him in some government position to advise in scientific matters. Perhaps even...
Tyson 2020 "your presidential Astrophysicist" lol.
I was thinking the same thing.
Why not!? It could happen!
It would be like something out of a good, old Disney movie. 🎥
He's way to smart to fall for that trap
Im so sorry @neildegrassetyson I lost my dad in 2014 and my mom a year later and there is nothing in this entire multiverse harder than the loss of a parent. Im still not over it
Deepest condolences! 🌼
Its just a pleasure listing to Neil deGrasse Tyson talk about space and explain it in terms nearly anyone can understand.
He is one of the greatest scientist we have in 21st century along with so brilliant other scientist who bright up our view toward how we have been created during 4.3 billion years of evolution.
Fascinating human being
He is so brilliant and adorable❣️

Awesome interview! I wish I can meet this guy so I can shake his hand.
Neil deGrasse Tyson’s brilliance isn’t simply the incredible body of knowledge he has to share it’s his ability to inspire awe and wonder of the world around us and the desire to seek answers for that which we don’t know. He appreciates that it’s the journey along the way that is just as important as the discovery it leads to. He is about teaching HOW to think and not WHAT to think. His excitement and passion for unraveling the mysteries of the universe is the impetus for following generations to continue investigating and exploring that which we don’t understand yet.
He doesn't have much except for being a dingbat.
