I don't see any stores in downtown or people. I grew up in Rochester but lived in a suburb in Webster, NY. Left for Phoenix AZ when I was 26 still here in Phoenix. Webster was a great place to grow up in. Cant stand the weather in Rochester. Blizzards Burr .
My son and his girlfriend move to Rochester from the city, his from Bklyn she's from the Bronx, born My second granddaughter was born in Rochester. I visited there in January 2021first time! I like Rochester. I'm retired from a State agency in the City, and thinking about moving there...I'm tired of city life. Thanks for the ride.😊
Beautiful city! Great architecture! Just needs a little TLC by filling up the too many unfortunate empty gaps, needs a little more density. Lovely, beautiful architecture on massive buildings.

@@PeacefulDrives21 Great architecture indeed. Early on, in another and much younger life, I was a modern architecture enthusiast and fanatic only. But as time has had that mellowing effect I’ve become enraptured and enthralled by the older Classical, Federal, Neo-Classical, Second Empire, Art Deco, etc. architecture, I’m completely consumed and floored by it. Still love the modern architecture, no doubt, but, ohhh, that old architecture is oh so rich and charming in its variety of patterns, colors, and mixture of materials. I always think now when I see any great piece of old architecture… “How did they think that!” “What great art!” I love it! And don’t even throw in the great parks and statues and monuments… I’m completely undone at that point! Just gotta love great cities with great architecture to boot! And I can only imagine how beautiful upstate New York is. At any rate, and once again, we’re all blessed by people like you, my friend. Thanks again.
I too enjoy the old architectures. There is nothing like seeing something made out of stone when they didnt have the technowledgies we have today. Just amazing! I'm glad you are enjoying the videos!

Kinda what I tried to say by saying, “How did they think that!” Same could be said about today’s architecture to some extent, too, but the old architecture, at least to me as well as for me transcends today’s and just has what for me is an indescribable character and richness and liveliness and life that I don’t quite see in today’s modern and seemingly more playful architecture. To me, the old architects were artist as well as architects. Enjoy your insight!
Great camera work, nice fades at the right time I wish you had gone a little slower on Main St. I grew up in Rochester left in 1977 last time there was 1988. I remember downtown vibrant lots of people going about their daily lives. Man the place is dead, and that's during good weather, it can't be a Sunday the mailman was working.
@matthew23345_ry I was wondering why they spoke so glowing about the city. But it looks very clean and quite. Where are the people as I saw literally no one outside and this is daytime!
@@Leroy-wm4ib growing up, the Post Office was NEVER OPEN on Sundays, and only Saturday mornings. So nobody worked then. But recently, the USPS has begun Sunday package delivery, mostly because of Amazon. So what?....
U hi*h? It's a horrible loud city. We broke a record this year for most homi*ides. I even was merked once. All buildings are horrible, closed, vandalized, burned down or hazardous... Houses look like they haven't been fixed sense the 1800's

Ah, street repair season (aka spring). Just 3 years ago and there were virtually no people walking around downtown. Now there are none.
