Hi Tim, great exclamation of your softwash system and looks awesome. I like how your builds are simple but complex they look great. I wanted to ask you what size hose is the blue hose that leads from your manifold to your 12v pump. And where can I get that hose from ? Thanks!
I'm asking to learn. I have a North Star 5.5 gpm pump and I'm using 1/2" spray hose to dispense it from the reel. I've been told to upgrade that to 5/8" hose due to the restrictions that 1/2" puts on the pump. Why do ya'll chose to go with 1/2" hose and not something larger? I've also got to upgrade my inlet & outlet to the pump to 3/4". I'm using 1/2" for that as well, which is restricting the flow. Your thoughts please and thank you.
What you were told is false. We build these daily and constantly test against other options. Can 5/8 help flow? Very minimal. Lugging the extra weight isn’t worth it. I know guys that run the AR45 with 1/2” hose and there is no issues. Your pump is nowhere near that 5.5 GPM rating with pressure loss. Waste of weight and money on the bigger hose for a 5.5. Hope that gets you going in the right direction.
I bought the 3/4 block, do you think it’s too big for my 4gpm 12v? I’m running 3/4 crush proof hose for all the plumbing, about 8 feet in total and 200 ft 1/2 on the hose feel. It pulls just fine when I have one hose with a drop stick but when I connect it to the block it is not pulling. I’m pretty sure it’s the block that is too big so might have to buy a bigger 12v but I want to make sure I get your opinion first before I buy it. Thank you.
For the quarter inch soap line does it pull all surfactants or do you have to dilute alittle bit. Some of the surfactants seem alittle to thick to pull. My wife owns dog grooming salon and have a hydromixer system and it would not pull soap ljke advertised. Everyone said buy less thick soap or dilute the stuff you have. I was just wondering if im gonna run into that problem.
We don’t have that problem due to the type of soap we use. We have our own soap, Apple Suds. Very thin but super concentrated. pressurewashingskids.com/products/apple-suds-roof-and-house-washing-soap?_pos=1&_psq=Apple&_ss=e&_v=1.0

Thank you! Glad it all made sense. Appreciate the comments.

What do you use in place of the hose clamp?
We now use a very high quality special full stainless clamp.

It’s too big. I’d get a different pump. Default to how we are running the pump and plumbers . Bigger hoses don’t always mean more flow.
What are those non collapsible hose called? Don't see them at Lowe's or Home Depot
Special order. Crush proof hoses. I’d shy away from Amazon. We sell them
Hey Tim. Do you use 3/4 suction lines for water and sh through tbe manifold on both 7gpm and 5.3 gpm 12v? pumps?
