    ❤ So the size you are making in this video will only be for a baby quilt size, so for a queen size quilt, would I need 2 yards of each color plus more for whatever backing I choose?? (First time quilter here, lol).

    • @authenticallyamber99
      @authenticallyamber99  10 місяців тому

      There are all sorts of quilting calculator apps but you will need roughly 8 yards of fabric for a Queen Size quilt for the front and another 8 yards for the back. If it were me, I’d begin with a throw size rag quilt and work my way up. That way, you can gain experience as you go. 🩷 Thanks for watching and happy quilting! 🌷

    Beautiful!! How many yards of batting?

    • @authenticallyamber99
      @authenticallyamber99  Рік тому

      Thank you! Depending on the size you want to make, but I’d say about 2 yards. Batting also comes in select sizes (crib, twin, queen, etc) so you can also purchase by the bag rather than by the yard.

    Hello, I was wondering if you could use a cotton fabric along with a flannel fabric, or does it need to be all flannel? That is a beautiful quilt you made. Thank you for sharing. ❤️ 🙂

    • @authenticallyamber99
      @authenticallyamber99  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, you absolutely can use cotton along with the flannel fabric. The only difference will be in the ragging effect in between the seams. It will still rag up but will just be a thinner appearance. Try it out on a small project and see if you like it. The wonderful thing about quilting is it’s a beautiful creative outlet that allows you to be the designer! Blessings! 💝

    When you are snipping the edge of the quilt how do you do the corners?

    • @authenticallyamber99
      @authenticallyamber99  4 роки тому +1

      I've always just treated them like the straight edges of the quilt and continued even spaced snips, however the last few I've done, I've snipped at an angle on the corner. Either way works. Just a matter of preference. Thanks for watching!

    • @authenticallyamber99
      @authenticallyamber99  4 роки тому

      Flannel fabric from a good fabric store or Walmart. Not flannelette...at least I haven't used that before. I suppose you could, although the flannel makes it to rag up nicely once you've snipped all the edges.
