    I just came across your video. I wished I would have watched it before I went fabric shopping for my great-grandson's baby quilt. I bought 5 different fabric's and using only 2 or 3 looks so much easier. I saved your video to re-watch.

    I like to double stitch around the outer edge, 1/4 inch apart. Then when I snip, I cut much closer together to create much more ragging. I think it looks so much nicer! Thanks for your video!

    really good video- thank you! I can't tell if both fabrics are flannel or are they quilting cotton? Can you make a rag quilt with just quilting cotton? I have so much fabric I want to use up, and not go buy a bunch of flannel. Any advice is welcomed.

      My very first rag quilt was made from cotton fabric. So yes, you can use cotton.

      The lap quilt finishes at 48” X 54”. You can find a few more size options in the blog post: www.adventuresofadiymom.com/2022/10/how-to-make-rag-quilt-easy-tutorial.html

    Are both layers flannel in this quilt? I love the fabrics you chose. ❤

      Both outer layers are flannel, the middle layer is batting.

    What size is this and what type of material do you use cuz I would like to make my daughter a king size rag quilt using cotton on front and back in batting in the middle. I know the ragging will look different if not with flannel but that's okay

      This blanket is 48” X 70”. I used 3 1/4 yards fabric each he big two different colors. Hopefully that will help you calculate the amount you need. I used flannel for this blanket. Good luck with your project!

    Hi, I wanted to see you after it was clipped...I am confused...please see if you can understand this. When you have sewn it all together, it seems that before you actually cut it that it's smashed down in the corners. Not sure if you understand what I mean. WHen you first sew the strips right side up it's fine. It's sewing the square strips together where I get confused. Are we supposed to undo it in that lil corner so it stands up? It seems no one has gone over this part...Please help

    Batting? How thick or no batting??

    • @AdventuresofaDIYMom
      @AdventuresofaDIYMom  Рік тому +2

      I didn’t add batting- the blanket was already thick and heavy from the puffs so I didn’t want to add more bulk

      You could use 100 % cotton batting which is pretty thin, or you can use a middle layer of flannel…yes 3 pieces of flannel. I have made several rag quilts and I have never used batting or the third layer of flannel. It depends on how warm you want the quilt.
