Check out the discounted stuff amigo, I’m stoked on the one I just got.
The history there is funny. Weider was the one mostly responsible for burying the Kettlebell. Then, "Body by Weider" became more about looks than strength, all under the dominion of the dumbbell.
@@pranakhan bodybuilding took over fitness in the Weider era and all non olympic lifters and powerlifters who wanted to lift weights got into that style of training, also why so many people go to the gym and are weak or barely look like they lift even now.

@Cameron Gregoire Adding reps because you're too comfortable with the weight is not what they're talking about with "one more rep mentality". They're talking about always pushing yourself to squeeze out additional reps when you're already at your limit, which is harmful, but gets endorsed by a lot of personal trainers.
What I personally do is mix David goggins and this dude....Say like I do 3-10 rep sets with lot of active rest(walking around) building up to total rep say like 100

His vibe tho. This is what is must be like to understand Russian.

“I’ll address that after I grab a tea”
Pavel teas when he wants!
😂😂😂
Crossfit question.
That's such an accurate Eastern European mannerism lolololol
Translation: cross fit doesn't work
The problem is a lot of people don’t have half enough money to do all the things he recommends, but it is great advice.
I've just started kettlebell less than a month ago, watched Pavel's video a couple of weeks ago, and here we are! I'm so happy
Qeue borat music
absolutely same situation here
The tea break is so Russian. "I am taking break." I was married to a Russian woman for a long time. I found the matter of factness refreshing. But, it can be jarring to the American psyche in the beginning.
The optional word there being "was"
Dutch people are also like this. Sometimes to the point of being offensive.
"So pretty much you get a bigger heart, and that is good." This guy is a class act.
Anyone who listened to this basically took an exercise physiology crash course
Yep
Absolutely
Jeff Messer of MESA COMMUNITY COLLEGE type course
I was actually listening to this at the gym, about ready to add 10lbs to my Max as he was saying that you gotta get used to the weight you're at. Oddly coincidental
@@trevorstolder5328 So did you go for it or no?
This is the most joe rogan looking guest I’ve ever seen

Except for Roe Jogan.
White, middle aged, bald, fit guy who talks about kettlebells. This is 100% Rogan
Except for Dana White
Someone should make an edit with Joe Rogan on the JRE. Questioning himself
“Enter the kettlebell” has to be one of the funniest training videos of all time.
You can laugh comrade, I give you permission.
It reminds me of the command and conquer games
@@MartialArtist991 😉🙏❤️
Also very informative too, no?
@@remulik3671 no doubt about it.
One of the great honors of my life is meeting Pavel. He shook my hand and I was immediately able to do 100 kettlebell snatches with a 20kg kettlebell within 5 minutes
The comments on Joe Rogan are always so Savage 😂
He's used to speaking to crowds of students and him in your presence alone commands A LOT OF RESPECT
This is one of those podcasts I'm going to have to listen to several times.
Teng Thor halfway through my second time 🤙🏾

Definitely. This one and the 2 Firas Zahabi podcasts
Increase those reps!
I hope some kind person puts together some notes on this. I'm trying to listen to it while programming and keep missing lots of good info.
I live in Russia and for the first time I heard about a guest from this podcast. We live in an amazing time.
Lex fridman?
@@stephenzavatski8016 I moved to the Stated after 30 years living in Russia, know both of them from Rogan. Actually just this week. I think Pavel might be well known if a person is interested in weightlifting.
Pavel : Max 10 reps, do 3-6 reps when you train
Goggins : Noooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!
😂
This is the anti Goggins program.
Richard Groves this is what he’s recommending for gaining strength. Goggins isn’t necessarily looking to gain a ton of muscle strength. I feel that Goggins looks to build a little bit of size but mainly to build Endurance. Different training methods
@@kushbar1 pavel doesn't recommend goggins level of intensity for endurance either. Leaning more towards a polarized type of training where the vast majority of your work is easy runs.
Shewes yes I agree. Also side note, Goggins is a just his own type of beast for what he’s does lol
I listened to this guy on the Tim Ferries podcast, he's a strength genius looking forward to this listen !!
He looks like a white David Goggins
He doesn't only look like him, he pretty much IS him
He totally does 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀

He is a wealth of knowledge on optimizing training! Thank you for having him on!
Joe : "How old are you?"
Pavel : "I'd rather not say"

Joe probably wondered if he could use elks instead.

I bought a Pavel’s book Relax into Stretch almost 20 years ago. Still haven’t found a better book. This guy’s a beast.
This guy does not skip a beat.... hes like an A.I. strength training robot encyclopedia lol
Still haven't found a better book ? Google "kindle" bro
going to check it out
Pavel introduced kettlebells back in the late 90s. I bought my first kettlebell from Dragondoor and no gym rat knew what it was. Now, from Walmart to Amazon sells them.
Simple and Sinisters the only conditioning book anyone ever needs

Jimmy James no one has done that before have they? A few “bathroom” breaks in the Alex Jones podcast but I don’t anyone else putting it on hold.
He said it with such authority out of no where lol
How very Russian of him, right XD
57:55 - the best, the healthiest way to develop your cardio is just steady state exercising, like running at a particular speed that's not too fast.

This is too relatable I'm shaking.
Kettlebell Kings has a competition style adjustable that’s fantastic.
Lol me too
I ended up grabbing a 48.5 lb bell from kettlebells USA for $69 about two weeks back. Was going to spend $139 on a competition he’ll and then at the last minute, they had a discontinued model that popped up in their related search for half the price. Check out the discounted stuff amigo, I’m stoked on the one I just got.

When you realize Joe is actually 2 yrs older than Pavel!
Joe.."Why didn't you think that Americans would want to do hard training?"
Russian man stares with the "Americans are lazy" look.
1000% I was dying laughing at this part.
The history there is funny. Weider was the one mostly responsible for burying the Kettlebell. Then, "Body by Weider" became more about looks than strength, all under the dominion of the dumbbell.
Lol! That "well, I don't wanna be offensive but..." type look.
@@pranakhan bodybuilding took over fitness in the Weider era and all non olympic lifters and powerlifters who wanted to lift weights got into that style of training, also why so many people go to the gym and are weak or barely look like they lift even now.
Ah... you got me... LOL!
I wonder if he's ever beaten anyone to death with a foam roller for having the audacity to use it in his presence
Holy shit! Joe's been meaning to have him on forever :O
I really liked being called Comrade by this guy and being on the Soviet territory and becoming a better man.

"You have to be tough when it's time, in the gym you have to do the plan"
Slow and steady wins the race, everytime.
I knew that this one-more-rep mentality of gym bros and trainers was somehow bullshit, I just never had the expertise to back that intuition up with facts. Great podcast.
My grand father always said this......he died in a fire.....
What I personally do is mix David goggins and this dude....Say like I do 3-10 rep sets with lot of active rest(walking around) building up to total rep say like 100

One of the best episodes ever, this man is a legend. I'm blown away by his wealth of information.
Too bad his advice on training isn't how any world champion trains. His advice is fine for your average Joe who just wants minimal gains with no risk of injury. All the world champions on joes podcast have rejected this guys entire training philosophy. This anti "one more rep" idea is ludicrous
@@brianroman4114 Yea honestly I get that feel from hearing the whole interview as well. He is definitely a insane wealth of knowledge and incredible recall of the history of training methodologies, but I I must say that I'm not sure I fully buy his methodology. I've done both Kettlebells pretty extensively as well as powerlifting which is what I currently do.
I would love to see some commentary of his methods from some champions. He makes a lot of sense and everything seems to be backed up by studies and results, according to him, but I would love to hear the other side. I've never seen any other successful lifter recommend stopping that many reps from max. However most people incorrectly estimate stopping 3 reps before max and actually stop closer to 5-6 reps before max.
Wow, been following this guy since 2004, he’s crazy strong.
