- Clarke finally convinces Eric that Tony will not be able to turn down Kristen’s proposal and the men take off with a plan in mind. Kristen doesn’t consider being with Tony a sacrifice because she believes Tony is a gift send from God, so Tony finally accepts Kristen’s marriage proposal. Everyone at the restaurant helps Tony and Kristen celebrate their engagement by dancing to music from Arturo Sandoval. Tony and Kristen leave the restaurant and hop into the limo, unaware that Eric is at the driver’s seat. Amber tells Stephanie about her problems with Rick because of Deacon, but swears that she only loves Rick. Amber begs Stephanie to tell her how to win back Rick’s trust, but Stephanie thinks Rick will calm down once he puts things in perspective.

Lol, she was lying, though. She believes what she wants to believe- whatever suits the story so she doesn’t lose Rick. She went to the Lair to tell Deacon goodbye. They had a very straightforward talk, and Amber said she’s pregnant now, and she will not leave Rick. So she and Deacon are sitting there. She’s framing his face with her hands. All the time, Rick is on the other side of the door seeing and hearing everything. Amber was crying. They kissed- passionately. She told Deacon she loved him, and then she left. That’s what Rick saw, that’s why he’s so angry. And she admitted all of this when he finally confronted her, but she said she was kissing him goodbye and that she loved Rick. But Rick talked to Amber’s friend, Ginger, who spilled the beans and told Rick that Amber had been fantasizing about Deacon for weeks. Amber also admitted this to Rick as well. Rick accused her of being trashy, and he said he wasn’t even sure the baby was his. I suspect he knew deep down, the baby is his, but he was lashing out at Amber. Anyway… that’s what you missed. Amber went about her merry way not knowing what Rick witnessed until she got confronted and was thrown off-guard. Amber really belongs with Deacon.
That is the best thing about soaps. You can miss or skip a storyline and still know what is going on, because everyone keeps rehashing it.😂

Once again Stephanie validates my analysis. I wrote about Deacon and Brooke having similar traits and occupying a similar "space" on the show in episodes 3440 and 3541.
Yes, I remember! I am having mixed feelings about the upcoming Brooke/Deacon storyline. I do see the similarities but at the same time it seems that Brooke would not be attracted to someone like Deacon because he just doesn't fit her fairy tale narrative.
@@annieo6527 I can see the attraction. He doesn't fit her fairytale narrative true but I've said before that Bill Bell's story structure frees Brooke to have other romantic pairings outside the Forrester family (because having Eric's kids and the company permanently keeps her in their orbit anyway). Brooke is the kind of character who _should_ have multiple great loves - even if she always circles back to wanting Ridge. And they should be different types: Ridge representing the fantasy, Connor representing the ideal, and Deacon representing a solipsistic dalliance, a kind of fun adventure with a male version of herself. And it’s more believable that she would try someone like Deacon at this point in her life when a lot of fantasy has already been fulfilled (she’s rich and powerful and part of the Forrester family even if she doesn’t have Ridge).
What I _don’t_ like about the Brooke/Deacon pairing is the mother/daughter scandal aspect and that’s another reason why I wish they had never paired him with Bridget. Technically it’s not out of character for Brooke to do this to her daughter (she took Eric from her mother and was involved with Eric’s son after all) but it once again relegates Brooke to a generic scandalous character rather than a character with defined traits who is cursed by her “original sin.” By doing this to Bridget - which is _even worse_ than what she did with Eric and Ridge - Brad is not only making Brooke less specific, he’s normalizing these incestuous episodes and thus making Brooke’s history with Eric and Ridge less potent. In this way, he is once again undermining Bill Bell’s story structure and so this storyline is just as destructive as the Massimo retcon. He already watered down Brooke’s original sin by pairing her with Thorne and now he dilutes it further with Brooke/Deacon/Bridget and by the time we get to the second round (Brooke/Nick/Bridget) and to Taylor being just as scandalous as Brooke (pairing Taylor with Rick and then with Eric), the show will be flavorless.

My thoughts are more malicious about your wish to not pair Deacon with Bridget in order to have more fun with Deacon and Brooke: did Brad intentionally pair Brooke with Deacon only because he was Bridget's husband? As you and Annie often say for his strange way to see drama and twists in his show. Because he could have paired them before the wedding using Brooke as the one against Deacon and Bridget's marriage. She would have been forgivable if she had planned to seduce Deacon ( and then fallen in love as only she is capable of😅) because she knew Deacon didn't really love Bridget.
@@babs4848 Thanks Babs! 🙏 Oh yes, I think you're right that Brad did this intentionally. He wants the "scandal" of Brooke sleeping with her daughter's husband because his conception of storytelling is stunts and twists, not long-form plotting and character work.

Amber is underrated in this storyline. Part of the reason I liked it is because she REJECTED Deacon and chose her marriage despite her and Deacon’s lusty chemistry and parentage to Little Eric. Amber’s choosing to honor her commitment was one of many decisions the character made that developed her from the sleazy teenage predator babysitter into a hero of the show. It also morally elevated her above Brooke, which was foreshadowed during their recent fight when Amber said to Brooke “I don’t want to give away the best thing I ever had for some cheap thrill. That is not fate, it’s a sickness. And I’m so sorry that you haven’t learned that yet and I have.” Amber’s prophecy is later fulfilled when Brooke does the unthinkable and gives into Deacon’s temptations. The mother in perpetual heat.
Amber went on to date Thomas, the kid she used to babysit and got knocked up by Marcus while she was trying to pin the baby on Liam. None of these ladies are better than Brooke, they re cut from the same cloth.

Amber didn’t do anything to Steph where she has to forgive her. Even so, just because she wants to forgive one person that means she HAS to forgive Brooke for everything she’s done?
To be fair to Amber, she did try her best to resist Deacon. Yes, she was attracted to him, but she felt guilty about it and always told Deacon she loved Rick and would never leave him. It was Deacon who couldn't take no for an answer (like Brooke with Ridge).
I don't think Amber has done anything different than what Rick did with Kimberly.

They need to replace Sophia’s photos in the theme song with Darla or Megan. Darla has appeared recurrently since the 80s and has been in the theme song before.
Sophia could’ve been a single guest appearance and she would have had just as much influence on the story (none).

Stephanie you are just a hypocrite you believe everything Amber says. What is the difference Brooke going after your son with Amber going after Rick. The things Amber has done and will do in the far future are inevitably worse. The things she will do to keep the good life is what she is all about. At least Brooke was educated and a scientist and has worked for her benefits. What has the poisonous Amber ever done. Yet you continue to believe in her. I wonder what you would do if she went after your son. I think I know why you love her so much because Brooke hates her.

Yes well Stephanie hated Brooke before this because she didn't want to loose her son to her. She hated her because her mother and Eric were college sweethearts. Thats why she brought her father back. You do know however on various occasions and at the end of her life expressed her love for brooke and gave her wedding ring. She said that she misjudged her and that she was a good person . She saw her as a daughter and must take her place as the head of the family.
