- Massimo gets a phone call from Greg apprising him of the blow out at the Forrester press conference. Massimo is furious, worried that Brooke is going to ruin all his plans. As the press continues to accost Brooke, Deacon is about to step forward when Whip senses a chance to seize an opportunity and claims he is the father. Brooke feels she has no other choice but to go along with Whip’s story. The press is cleared out and Deacon takes Brooke back to her office. Deacon is comforting Brooke when Bridget confronts her mother about keeping this pregnancy a secret. Meanwhile, a fuming Stephanie insists they march into Brooke’s office to demand her resignation.

Brooke keeps saying, "Why is this happening? How could this get out of control like this?" as if she's describing a natural disaster. SHE'S the one who had an affair with her daughter's husband, got pregnant and then chose to keep the baby! 🙄😖

Bridgit really is way too blind. Or maybe I'm just too suspicious, bc I'd be watching my husband side eye at all the time he's suddenly spending alone with my mother, and how chummy they are, when they supposedly couldn't stand each other just a few weeks/months ago.

- We also had Margo having an illegitimate child with FC employee Clarke (or was he then working for Spectra)?
- Ridge had thought that Taylor had given birth to Thorne's illegitimate child, until Ridge later learned that Thomas is biologically his "illegitimate" child.
Ridge's sudden focus on that word seems plot driven.

@@ministryofwrongthink9847 No argument there! But why is it such a big deal now that everyone thinks Brooke slept with an employee? With the amount of time working people (including corporate leaders) are expected to put into their jobs, it’s no wonder connections and hook-ups happen at work. I’m aware of the complications and consequences that rise because of those actions, but I still don’t see it as some major ethical violation.
It’s really strange because Ridge, Eric and Thorne have all slept with employees. Now I usually understand Stephanie but this hill she’s dying on is nothing but misogyny
Having slept with every male employee named Forrester on the executive level ( and Thorne), it was only natural to move on to the mid management level 😂

I’m not sure who my new favorite character is - Greg, who slides under the radar as a regular blah employee but gets more gossip and faster than TMZ- or Whip, who might be an even faster and sleazier grifter than Deacon. Bravo, sir, Bravo!
I hope the Brooke/Ridge stans caught Ridge disavowing any connection to that pregnancy faster and harder and more desperately than Brooke ever f*cked him. He was two seconds away from getting a notarized denial for the press!
But bar none, my favorite moment was everyone being shocked not at Brooke’s pregnancy, but that she’d have a normal relationship with and get knocked up by someone who *wasn’t* a Forrester and couldn’t help her station in life. “Brooke, just being with a regular guy? No way.”
Runner-up for favorite moment: realizing that of everyone at the press conference, Brooke’s two children were the *only* ones who had no idea about any of it until Stephanie broke the news. Mom of the year award!

Is he an actual employee that Massimo randomly found and knew he'd be a good bribe? Or someone Massimo planted in their office?

This storyline is Brooke at her worst. Not only for the actual action of having an affair with her daughter's husband. It has all of Brooke's worst behaviors displayed at some point. Asking herself how things got out of control - um, you slept with Deacon what did you think was going to happen. Attempting to redeem herself by switching to the mindset that she is making a great sacrifice in order to protect Bridget. Like she is the hero and/or victim. And trying to rationalize her behavior.
I have to agree… I think you have nailed it with your description of the mess that Brooke has put herself into….😮
In her mind she is trying to make excuses for herself, but I think deep down her Guilt is eating at her. 🫢
I feel sorry for Bridget. Her mother and husband are despicable.

“Bridget cannot find out” , than in 06, they go on and on about how unlike Taylor she always dealt with her mistakes as if it was her choice.. she was always found out, she never came clean or was even going to come clean about anything

No, but what I think they're saying is Stephanie can't be shocked this is a scandal that got out of hand with the press, when Stephanie planned on causing a humiliating scene. She chose revenge this time over the company, which is why I love her. She is smart but still gets tempted like anyone else. Too satisfying for her to pass up.

When I originally watched this show I couldn’t stand Brooke and I loved Stephanie. I truly thought Stephanie was someone to look up to. I have sooo changed my mind now as an adult. Brooke is not someone to be admired. She has some serious problems. 😂. But Stephanie is not a good person at ALL! She never accepts responsibility for her actions. Never feels guilty for bad things she does. She always has a justification for her bad deeds. It’s incredible to me how people think she’s amazing. Susan Flannery is amazing. The character is a bad person. At least to this point in the story.
I have quickly given up rooting for a character. They all at one time just change too much. Eg. Beth going from super-mom with a deep connection to her kids to being the mom who put an ocean between herself and these kids, just because of a failed love affair (and not because she still felt so much love for her loser husband Stephen).
They all are super flawed. I like the drama and the twist, but not the characters.
But yes, Susan Flannery is amazing. Unfortunately, B&B will have SF and the character Stephanie only until 2012, when both exit the show.
