Austin Butler was incredible in Elvis and made me an instant Elvis fan! The film is a masterpiece. Now I listen to Elvis daily. That's what a great performance can do!
Same here. My mother’s been a lifelong fan of Elvis and I took her to see the movie. Became instantly obsessed and in love with the man. I can’t get enough of Elvis.❤
Austin Butler is better because of more screen time as Elvis but also because in my opinion that movie made proven how much potential he has as an actor. Most people would have known him only as James from Zoey 101 20 years ago and maybe George in Wizards of Waverly Place or Peyton from Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure 10 years ago and now he'll be known for that and Elvis Presley as well as whatever else he's in.
Austin Butler, in my opinion, portrayed Elvis to the fullest capacity he could. He really embodied Elvis, the man and the showman, in my opinion. Although dramatized for the film, I think Austin really did capture Elvis as a human being and not just a superstar. He even stated that he searched to find the humanity of Elvis when preparing for this role. Love Austin Butler, and love Elvis. 🩵
The P movie is purposely degrading, based solely on one very questionable ex-wife's "story" told to gain more money that ever and for more attention. A narcissist who has contradicted herself from one interview to the next for decades. Verifiable lie upon lie. You never know what to believe. And the facts coming out about the real P now.....show she was not at all the chaste "innocent" little teenage girl in Germany. Elvis was a class act compared to her. And the 7 foot tall actor with a 4 foot tall little girl! Really! Elvis was a great humanitarian. He was joyous , funny, deeply caring. He had a generous heart of gold from childhood to the end of his life. He was very human and his humanity was thrown to the wolves in the P film. Too many people know and love Elvis to fall form this. Nice try.
No comparison - AUSTIN became Elvis !!! He portrayed him perfectly ! Elvis the movie was exciting ! We know now Lisa was unhappy w the Coppola version just thru the script . Pricilla wouldn’t be PRICILLA if not for Elvis ! Just a thought !!😮
So true and I hate that for so long Elvis has had his name dragged through mud. Of course he made bad decisions and was human but I was happy with Austin's movie in that we finally were giving the man the credit he deserved. Let him rest in peace sorta speak then this stupid movie comes out to again drag him back to the mud. This family has been through enough, why do we capitalize on negativity for them?
Nobody better than Austin. It was like r Experiencing Elvis himself. Sometime hard to differentiate between. Austin. And Elvis. Saw the movie 36 ,times could easily go 36 more. Wish they would bring it back. His movements. His hand movements. His speaking voice From 18-42 yrs old. Unbelievable. Elordi just looked like a gorilla trying to act cool. Didn't work. Absolute hated the disgusting movie.
Austin hands down! It felt like you're watching Elvis Presley himself instead of an actor imitating him just like Jamie Foxx when he played Ray Charles in Ray. In all seriousness though, I’m sure Jacob Elrodi will do a good job, but there have been many actors who played Elvis since the 70s, I think it's time to let him rest similar to Marilyn Monroe.
Preach, that's the same way I felt about Helen Mirren, she transformed into The Queen. Both Jacob and Austin were great, but Austin gets a bit more of a vote from me.
I agree. When I see and even hear Austin Butler talk, it's Elvis. When I saw the movie _Ray_ as a teenager, I see Ray Charles when Jamie Foxx played him. And now after seeing the new Brian Epstein biopic *Midas Man* , I see Brian Epstein from Jacob Fortune-Lloyd. Those three men aren't trying to be these famous people, they *ARE* Elvis Presley, Ray Charles, and Brian Epstein.
Hands down Austin Butler really Shined in Elvis. Elvis put in so much time to make it the real thing. Congratulations Austin. I've watched the movie on my DVD and it's the truth like 68 times I watch it everyday.
Austin Butler definitely portrays Elvis in all areas to perfection. If you watch the movie you can catch that sweet sneer in one millisecond before the scene ends. His moves were perfection. His voice the velvet blanket that envelopes you.Pricilla was a child and really couldn’t understand the devil in her boyfriend and husband. Elvis was pure reminisces of the greatest singer and entertainer and was a prisoner. Pricilla showed Elvis’ life as only she and his friends saw, we heard of his temper. But we wanted to remember the entertainers. Austin Butler sang and danced exactly like the King. Pricilla’s Elvis didn’t do either. No entertainment there.
there's no comparision or contest, Austin is the best portrait of Elvis in pop culture and he should have won the oscar, he gave up 3 years of his life to learn everything about him and it pay off, with rocketman is my favorite music biopic ❤
Austin, I didn't even notice that they used the real one in the end. My sister pointed out that Elvis' voice had something Austin lacked. I had to look it up to verify it and learned she was right. It was the real Elvis.
Austin Butler’s portray of Elvis and Olivia Dejonge’s portray of Priscilla will always be iconic, they perfected it. majority of the people who i’ve encountered couldn’t even tell the difference between austin and olivia and their characters, on the other hand they could tell who was who between Jacob Elordi and Cailee Spaeny’s .
Well this picture didn't check any "boxes", so even if the picture is a masterpiece, "they" will not award it. If Elvis was not white and not hetero, it may have had a chance, in their eyes. Next, lets see what happens with Oppenheimer...
There is absolutely no contest....Austin Butler became Elvis, no one could have given more or done it better!! Nothing beats the movie Elvis...Priscilla is like a made for TV movie next to it!!
Oh my goodness !!! Austin worked so hard to perfect this role ! Austin became Elvis !! Jacob E also way too tall to even be compared ! Austin for sure ❤
Austin Butler lived and breathed Elvis. He flawlessly transitioned from young Elvis's voice to older Elvis's voice. He played both the private and showman Elvis. He had the moves down to a tee. He is the superior actor. Do you really think he couldn't have done Elvis in this film as well? Get real.
Without a doubt, Austin Butler became Elvis as the world knew him. At times, you had to ask yourself was that Elvis singing or Austin singing throughout the movie. That man deserved the Oscar!! Nothing against Jacob, but this movie is based off of Priscilla's view point. So Jacob is being Elvis behind the "Elvis" the world saw. So two completely different versions. Hands down, Austin Butler will be hard one to beat. He became Elvis with movements, voice, character, everything.
I think anyone who plays Elvis in a movie has the utmost respect for Elvis Presley. The determination to study and understand Elvis is a pure craft of what roles these actors can perform. I saw Elvis on Netflix tonight. I've not seen the other movie of Priscilla yet. I've been to Graceland and it was the most emotional day I had . I swear to God, I felt the spirit of Elvis in his house and on the Lisa Marie. I could say more but won't. I grew up listening to Elvis. The day he passed, I cried for 3 days, and as new mother, I was heartbroken 💔 as were many. Much respect for both these aspiring actors. Well done
I'm glad that Jacob Elordi is getting more mainstream, mature roles outside of "The Kissing Booth" trilogy, and that it hasn't held him back from being in bigger and better projects.
Honestly you can say the same thing about Austin Butler because he was a Disney/Nickelodeon star and if it wasn't for Elvis 2022, that's probably all he'll be known for. That's not a bad thing either but he said Jacob Elordi has now proven they're better actors than we expected.
@@johnjungkook2721 yeah because they have 2 different backgrounds and when it comes to playing Elvis Presley Austin Butler had more screen time and focus.
Austin Butler does not look like Elvis at all. But by God he made me believe he was elvis, especially on the final scenes of the movie. As someone who has not lived in the era of Elvis, I almost got confused who the real elvis was. Instantly became an Elvis fan after seeing the movie.
Austin Butlers performance was unbelievable! There were times I would be watching the movie and it felt like I was really watching Elvis perform at times…
The Elvis 2022 movie wasn’t focusing on elvis behind closed doors really, it was focusing on Elvis the entertainer/ his manager, what austin did for the movie was spot on each time. He sang and danced and showed emotion. I’m a huge elvjs fan and I was so overwhelmed by how much he resembled elvis in ways. The new Priscilla movie doesn’t show elvis the entertainer but the man, it also doesn’t show him in the right way, elvis wasn’t this controlling, abusive person she is making him out to be. You can’t even compare theses 2 movies cuz they are so different. Austin wins in my eyes sorry not sorry
As a “huge Elvis fan”, you should know that the movie “Elvis” is 30% accurate 70% fictional for an entertainment sake. Butler was a far better performer in this case, but the movie itself wasn’t accurate by any means. Also, the movie “Priscilla” is based off of Priscilla’s book “Elvis and Me” which is probably the most accurate representation of the man you’ll be able to find besides interviews with his friends in the Memphis Mafia.
@@blakeruder3975 The Elvis & Me book is 99.99% fiction according to testimonies from practically everyone and even Priscilla herself. The most accurate representation of Elvis is nothing more than the testimonies of the Memphis Mafia, his girlfriends (not including Priscilla), his colleagues, and Lisa Marie. Now, you want an accurate representation of Priscilla, Childbride by Suzanne Finstad is what you’re looking for.
Austin Butler without a doubt. And singing some of the vocals sounded just like the real Elvis and studying Elvis for 3 years. Electrifying and unforgettable.
they both did very good with what they were asked to portray. elordi played a great elvis that was being told from prisillas pov and butler played a great elvis in a different way
Austin Butler hands down but I was very pleased with Jacob Elordi's performance too. He also nailed the voice and mannerisms down. Great job from both actors.
Absolutely Austin Butler without a doubt, as far as I am concerned. It was almost like having Elvis back among us again ….. almost. A wonderful performance by Austin.
One thing that stood out to me was that Jacob stands about half a foot taller than Elvis. He looks so tall and lanky compared to everyone else. I know one could argue that his height works because it's supposed to be seen through Priscilla's eyes, but it was still something that stood out to me personally.
my all time favorite Elvis, rhe mini series with Johnathan Rhys Meyers. I became mesmerized by Johnathan Rhys. Austin Butler sings like him, but I have no plans to see Priscilla until it is included on a streaming service
Very very great epic list I like it a lot very very great job mis mojo one of my absolute favorite list ever Austin betler did a amazing job as Elvis and that is one of the very best movies ever 😊❤
There is no competition at all. No one can come even close to the job Austin did. He gave a once I a lifetime time Oscar worthy(which he got robbed of the oscar)Oscar. I have seen the clips from the Percilla movie ad that guy doesn't even come close to the job Butler did let known Elvis himself.
In my opinion, it's only two Elvis bio movies that matter, the 1979 version with kurt Russell and 2022 version with Austin Bulter. These are the best representations of Elvis. Haven't seen Priscilla yet, but the trailer seems like it's boring.
The Kurt Russell version was so underrated because it was a TV movie. TV movies were not seen as decent or "high art" as theatre releases. Kurt was able to get past his Disney image and get better roles. He even married the actress who played Priscilla in the TV movie .
It wasn't boring (the cinematography was fantastic, and the clothes were awesome, also a great soundtrack of artists because Elvis music wasn't allowed), but I left the theatre feeling "empty." It was just "alright."
Elvis with Austin butler was an excellent movie and I'm not a huge Elvis fan, Tom hanks as colonel Tom Parker was a scene stealer , 4 and a half stars out of 5 for the movie

*Also; The Shannara Chronicles!*
No comparison, one is playing Elvis one became Elvis.
Austin was robbed of an Academy award
Way To Go Austin! That's My Boy!🎉
Lisa Marie said she adored Austin and that’s more than enough to conclude who portrayed Elvis better.
and Lisa was against this mother movie...
@@Verbsdescribeus That just adds to the fact that Austin was simply superior.
Nice try.
Google - zašto nema prijevoda sa engleskog na hrvatski već 10 dana?
Facts!
It was like r
Experiencing Elvis himself.
Nobody can beat Austin being ELVIS!!
Wrong

Austin Butler played the role best & I can’t imagine anyone doing a better job.
Bruce Campbell
Austin Butler did a awesome job as Elvis
Austin should have won the OSCAR!!
Austin, hands down. I knew when I saw the movie Austin would win the Oscar.
Except he didn’t…
Nope!!! Austin Butler took the No. spot on ALL OF IT!!! 👑
Austin butler without a doubt the best,we got to think we had Elvis back with us for a visit
Austin Butler all the way. He sang many of the songs himself, and it sounded like Elvis. Austin had the movements to perfection.
Austin Butler did an amazing job
Austin Butler will ALWAYS be the definitive Elvis. PERIOD.
Austin Butler DID a FANTASTIC JOB in Elvis! And he sang every song! Come on Austin is #1
Listen, I love and respect Jacob as an actor so much but Austin Butler nailed it as Elvis and he had a much bigger role in the movie
No comparison, no competition. Austin Butler takes it
Austin butler nailed it, no doubt
Austin was amazing .
I like Austin’s role in Elvis better!
there's no comparision or contest, Austin is the best portrait of Elvis in pop culture and he should have won the oscar, he gave up 3 years of his life to learn everything about him and it pay off, with rocketman is my favorite music biopic ❤
Austin, I didn't even notice that they used the real one in the end. My sister pointed out that Elvis' voice had something Austin lacked. I had to look it up to verify it and learned she was right. It was the real Elvis.
It’s kinda hard to compare these two movies as, even though they depict the same story, they’re both extremely different and tell different stories.
Not even close, Austin Butler all the way.
In my opinion, this video is Austin Butler's Oscar winning. It gave him justice and even Lisa Marie approved.
THERE IS NO COMPITITION HERE, AUSTIN BUTLER WAS ELVIS. I WATCHED THE MOVIE 7 TIMES AND I WILL WATCH IT AGAIN AND AGAIN.
It's incredible to think that after all that preparation, Austin didn't win the Oscar
💯
So true! Austin should have won hands down!

Get real.
Who remembers the Elvis series that was on TV in the late 90's Michael St Gerard played Elvis Presley, He looked alot like he did.
There is no comparison. Austin was perfect as Elvis
@@RomaroBrandon Jacob is not really on the same level, though.
@@johnjungkook2721 yeah because they have 2 different backgrounds and when it comes to playing Elvis Presley Austin Butler had more screen time and focus.
And I hope he gets more diverse roles since, for a guy that young, he’s already caged to the same abusive partner character.
Austin Butler in Elvis = number 1. Thank you for such a great performance, Mr. Butler!
Elvis all the way!!! Austin was phenomenal!!!!!
Austin Butler
Austin Butler does not look like Elvis at all. But by God he made me believe he was elvis, especially on the final scenes of the movie. As someone who has not lived in the era of Elvis, I almost got confused who the real elvis was. Instantly became an Elvis fan after seeing the movie.
They’re both incredible actors I loved both of their performances ❤
Austin Butlers performance was unbelievable! There were times I would be watching the movie and it felt like I was really watching Elvis perform at times…
Austin deserves an Oscar
Butler was Brilliant ❤❤❤
He sure was controlling.
Yes I totally agree with you ❤❤❤
@@kathymeier587 He was controlled, not controlling. Priscilla was one of his principal puppeteers along with Colonel Parker.
Elvis the movie is far better. I read the book Me and Elvis years ago and didn't like it. Elvis is forever a special gift from God.
they both did very good with what they were asked to portray. elordi played a great elvis that was being told from prisillas pov and butler played a great elvis in a different way
I loved Jacob as Elvis!!
Austin is The king of Rock and Roll baby and my heart
Austin Butler hands down but I was very pleased with Jacob Elordi's performance too. He also nailed the voice and mannerisms down. Great job from both actors.
Absolutely Austin Butler without a doubt, as far as I am concerned. It was almost like having Elvis back among us again ….. almost. A wonderful performance by Austin.
I don't care what any body says Austin Butler was tops in the movie elvis. He beats them all out‼️🤗🤗🤗
I am sure Elvis would agree that Austin nailed it, bet he watched it and was smiling!!
Austin Butler sings like him, but I have no plans to see Priscilla until it is included on a streaming service
l love reys Myers was wonderful as Elvis I loved him and I don't think he ever got enough credit for that
Really? I saw that once, and will never watch it again. That had more wrong than right.
Austin Butler, hands down!! 🖤⚡️🖤⚡️
I loved Austin Butler as Elvis, but he could never do the "lip curl" that I remember Elvis doing!
Just finished watching it. It is boring. Shame.
It wasn't boring (the cinematography was fantastic, and the clothes were awesome, also a great soundtrack of artists because Elvis music wasn't allowed), but I left the theatre feeling "empty." It was just "alright."
Priscilla movie sucks big time!!! Austin and Baz are beyond amazing!!
Austin con su interpretación fue merecedor de un Oscar.❤
Austin Bluters el mejor actor y merecedor del premio al oscar❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
No comparison. Austin's performance was breathtaking; it gives you chills watching him. Elordi is nothing like Elvis; he's just acting.
Austin Butler definitely WAY better! Loved the Elvis movie!
Elvis, Austin Butler, hands down❤️
Elvis with Austin butler was an excellent movie and I'm not a huge Elvis fan, Tom hanks as colonel Tom Parker was a scene stealer , 4 and a half stars out of 5 for the movie
Agreed…Tom Hanks did a great job as Colonel Parker
Butler hands down was the best Elvis.
@MsMojo Austin Butler will always be the absolute best Elvis. I really wish Austin would sing more songs that he has written!
