My problem with this game is the amount of running you have to do in order to find someone and fight. Also the lack of urban combat. Also the fact that I cant choose the server or map I wanna play. The gameplay mechanics are good tho

The fact the game has very little HUD, no red dot sights, and random suppressing fire could kill you instantly makes it so intense and fun to play. 10/10

This game is either a dull nightmare or an amazing, near perfect experience. I’m new, and not good, but ran with a squad who were talking and knew how to play and it was a ton of fun. We ran into a tank and they told me to wait until it passed. Then I blew that thing sky high! Very Saving private Ryan. Epic game!!
Yes playing with a squad that plays together and listens to the commander is waaaay more fun

This game is insanely immersive. All the way down to the occasional dude who plays the part on the mic calling out “MEDIC! IM BLEEDING OUT!” Or having great commanders giving out orders and constant comms. It’s so addicting to get into it.
My favorite is the guys who yell German gibberish on proximity chat when you're in the Axis transport truck lol
You play this game with a half decent commander and squad and there is no experience like it. One of the best shooters out there.

I just wish there was actual coordination and communication in the game. Less than 30% of the playerbase uses the VOIP function in game. And the rest don't even bother typing.

Thing I love most about this game is that it encourages you to think strategically and work as a team, rather than the more common "spray and pray" approach to FPS games.
Those games you’re on about are fast passed arcade shooter games so it makes sense that they’re spray and pray , also this is more of a milsim game so that explains your first comment

The moment the dev's figure out how to incorporate terrain deformation physics into their next release it will go down in history as the best fps of all time. This game is mega. The only disappointment for me is that buildings and walls and surroundings stay static. If they could alter that and get it to work this game would be totally flawless.
Not true some buildings are non static and can be destroyed with Artillery or a tank its made with the unreal engine 5.
@@AlgorithmicBias Are you sure about that? What buildings are destructible? The only ones I am aware of are the items the Engineers can manufacture. Houses on maps like Stalingrad and Carentan do not collapse when shot with artillery or high explosive tank rounds. Vehicles phase through walls instead of breaking them. Large hedge rows stop ten ton vehicles (heavy tanks) dead in their tracks forcing the crew to go around them instead of crushing the brush or pushing it aside.
The dev's should have incorporated that kind of terrain deformation to add to the experience. They didn't and the gameplay and immersiveness suffers for it.

The fact that you can be like two feet away from the enemy and not know they are there until you both turn around and try to get the first shot is so damn good. So many realistic scenarios that it’s almost feels like a reenactment. And voice chat with random people who know how to play kick up the immersive level to the max.

It would be cool if mic chat only worked within speaking distance and then some players operated radio stations to communicate to different parts of the battlefield. Enemies would also hear your speech from within earshot.

What a stupid concept
Im new to Hell let loose and honestly only get 6 kills per game, But the absolute best feeling is that you and you're unit stays alive for almost the whole game. Being stuck in certain positions or moving trough fields while it being quiet. This game has such an amazing atmosphere. I haven't played a game like this in a long time
Big lesson for me is to stop running to the enemy, wait , look, creep. , you'll then see them running towards you instead .. the American rifle is one of the best guns to use also, avoid choosing machine guns unless you are going to be a lot of close combat.

It take a lot of time and learning, listen to video. tips and trick. Follow he subreddit of the game. I got 121 hours in total and i'm level 62. I swear when i started playing this game, it was so hard for me to even get a kill but now i'm doing 30 kill per game on average (I'm playing with heavy gunner and i'm playing with no friends too hahah :( ) Take the time to learn how to play this game i promise you that it will worth it at level 20 you'll start noticing change, i promise.

This game is still run and gun, just a toned down version,,arma is too off pace,,squad is the only game for me which has just the right balance of milsim and action.
I'm a tier 8 squad lead, by far my fav role because you need to filter down so much info to the bare essentials and relay it to your squad, and also relay the info your squad mates get to command chat. Marking vehicles and infantry strongpoints, coordinating artillery. And the feeling of knowing you won a game because of a call or a move you had your squad make is like no other. Not to mention you stick with the same squad leads usually game after game so you get a kind of team chemistry after two matches or so, and a feel for how the enemy team plays. The game is unbelievably deep.
Tier 10, and agree with All you wrote.
Finally time to play other classes though but I find myself supporting newbie squad leaders a whole lot now.
Have to get more people into playing officer. There's usually shortages.
The game does an amazing job of making every action matter, if not at least giving the feeling of it.
You set up a MG nest in a flanking position and wipe out several squads so they have to flank you? Set up defenses as an engineer so they get bogged down on an objective and it let's your team rebound? The game makes every role matter, and every fight feels like something out of a movie, especially charging up a hill into oncoming fire and explosives.
I don´t get much time to play, so the little time I do have each week I use it to play a few rounds of this game. It is so immersive that for a couple of hours I am completely drawn away from my daily life and submerged into these intense WWII scenarios. Simply amazing.

@@boogie5 I refunded it with under 2 hours. The graphics felt off and not nearly as realistic/crisp as in HLL. And hell let loose is enough of a sim for me. Why not join the actual army at that point of you want even more simulation. It's just a waste of over 30 dollars at this point since not many play it any more besides dedicated discord groups that organise games

The Battlefield franchise needs to go back to the drawing board to have a chance at competing with this.
You have to remember that this is a niche game. Never had the opportunity to play it myself but from what I know, it can be dull at times. It's much more strategic and slow paced than BF and COD. Those games have more appeal to bigger masses which means more sales which equals more money.

Most people haven’t got the patience to respawn in bf let alone wait a few minutes to sometimes get back in the action in hll!! It will never be mainstream and appeal to the zonbaloids. Plus it’s insanely difficult
The first 'Medal of Honor' is better than this. It's too bland & there is never much going on around you battle wise with the exception of an occasionally randomly placed ten or so rockets that literally come out of the clouds as if they had UAVs in WW2, lol. I also heard a helicopter which would have been extremely unlikely since all they had back then was a scarcely deployed experimental one called the Sikorski.
The best war game I have ever played. There is quite a learning curve because the game is so realistic and immersive you feel like you die left and right. But once the understand the basics you really appreciate the design and functionality of the game. A game where crouching in certain areas is actually essential to your survival lol.
I absolutely love this game. I get so into it on my headset that I wake up my kids and wife and they yell the shot out of me 🤣🤣
Any shooter that doesn’t have the name and color above the characters is awesome. So annoying when games make it where you just see name graphic in red above someone
After a couple weeks of training as squad members and officers I finally started putting in rounds to be a Commander and damn. The level of satisfaction that comes from calling in a bombing run and watching your troops rush the objective and take it is SO SATISFYING.
Also feeding in supply drops and having the engineer Corp just reinforce the crap out of it. Ugh so many good gaming stories already from this game and I only picked it up when it came to Xbox.
The real satisfaction is when you command and literally carry the team building ninja garrisons. And at the end even if it was a loss they still write to appreciate your work
Omaha beach was the 3rd game I had played on its release day for ps5 and I remember laying down behind a hedgehog and I heard a teammate in vc screaming "MAMAA" Just like in saving private Ryan. Now I always scream medic and say things to immerse others. Also because sometimes I'm genuinely scared of dying.
Next step is VR and then you might get PTSD from war games 😂
Watching this clip makes you wonder why BF2042 will have any players at all...... this is just superior in every way and form.

probably because every weapon in this is semi automatic whereas on bf2042 theres fighter jets, vtols, vehicles, tanks & different kinds of guns. if people dont want a tactical slow paced experience then bf2042 is way better. vanguard however I dont understand

As much as I hate the new battlefield the games aren’t meant to be the same , this is a milsim game and battlefield is an arcade shooter so battlefield got nothing wrong since the games are trying to achieve different things

@@sandboxman9174 it's definitely not a milsim. Compared with Squads for example it's a very different style. It's closer to the classic style BF games, not like for like but similar. It's definitely for the same market of players the old BF games were targeted at. "More realistic, more emersion" but not quite a simulator. The new BF style is terrible and targeted more at younger cod players who want quick wins, overly balanced easy game play with plenty of unlocks/instant gratification features added in.
Finally something realistic ! Where you go down off one shot to the torso or head just like it was back then instead of dumping a full mag into someone like COD or battlefield

As a new player This game can either be amazing and intense or a boring confusing cluster fuck of walking around and dying pointlessly. The difference is whether or not you get a squad with mics and a commander on your team. I've had lots of fun though.
This is the FPS game about WW2 I've always dreamed about. Also, the tank gameplay is very satisfying. You MUST play it as a CREW, 3 men per tank, each guy has its own role, the spotter, the driver, and the shooter. All players in the crew have to communicate by voice. The spotter give orders to the shooter, and say "HALT" to stabilize the turret. This game is more than worth the price !! Definitely buy it to enjoy the ultimate WW2 gaming experience. You can communicate to the crew by radio but also hear nearby soldiers shooting in their mic to warn you about a nearby threat, it's insane. Also, the officer in the tank can hear the commander voice orders so he can adjust its position on the map to anihilate ennemy tanks and infantry resistance.
I was playing the other day and about 4 companies including mine were pushing this road, and this rolling artillery barrage came in and killed everyone in front of me, and slowly the shells landed closer and closer eventually killing me as I turned to run.
Most immersive experience I’ve ever had in a WW2 game.

Military usually works in fours. 4 members in a fireteam, 3 fireteams is a squad. 4 squads in a platoon, 3-4 platoons in a company. 4 companies in a battalion

**Newer players to this game** get a mic, use it and once you do jump right in and learn as much as you can. If you are in a squad not using mics. Leave and start one your own! I do it because I want to win and strategize with my team, it’s almost throwing yourself to the wolves but usually there is someone more seasoned than you and can give you pointers. Once they join your squad. It’s immersive, it’s one of a kind and it’s 100x better with a squad talking to each other
We were playing omaha beach offensive as the us last night final point was in the barn houses on the left side of the map, whole friendly team was yelling " FOR THE SHED" because we could only get into the shed without getting mowed down by mg42 fire I couldn't stop laughing love moments like those.

Wow. I will give this a go. Call of Duty is getting stale, although I really like the WW2 versions of the game. But this looks very immersive, very reliant on coordination.

everything about this game is good except for Voicechat everyones so fucking loud and theres no way to adjust the volume and it just ruins the experience quite a lot lol
You can absolute adjust the voice audio in under settings. Voice chat is the people you’re playing with and mic volume is how loud you sound

Would be nice addition to have some brace cover mechanic. It’s annoying having to stand up sometimes to get shots on the enemy because cover was just a bit too high for you to shoot over it while crouched

8:12 the explosions in this game are insane!! They are genuinely photorealistic. Really makes a huge difference. And seeing the motors/bombs fly past clearly as well is wicked.
That close quarters combat felt so real, and they fell forward onto their face in a way a real human would if shot point blank. Sounds sadistic but they took a lot of time into these details
They also make noise and cry while they bleed out.
perfect game:
1- a lot of players together on the battle field .
2- the game doesnt have artificial aim
3- you don't need to shoot 20 shots to kill
4- a giant battle field

I saw this on the xbox marketplace, but I bought insurgency sandstorm (first, at least) instead since I had been playing battlefield 5 so much…I made a mistake. Insurgency is decent but it’s potato compared to what this seems to be, all around.

Only thing I didn't like about this game is that people tried playing it like CoD and Battlefield. It ruins the experience. COMMUNICATE & COORDINATE PEOPLE--
It's one of those games where you'll see random blue berries run across open fields only to get mowed down by an encamped squad guarding that part of the map. Which can be fun for the squad, but not for the guy getting mowed down. I think me and my squad regrouped on a building and we're literally picking off half of the enemy team with a machine gun. I played medic so reviving was my job.
All I heard while I was whizzing between grenades and incoming fire to revive my teammates was my squad commander shouting at the top of his lungs
*"WHERE'S OUR ARMOR?! WE'RE GETTING HOUNDED DOWN HERE!"*
I kinda knew at that point the fight was over, my squad mates were dropping left and right and we were getting shot at from pretty much all directions. I ended going down due to a grenade explosion while trying to revive our machine gunner next to what used to be a window. Suffice to say we got flanked and over ran. This game certainly has it's moments, but you'll often play two games of dull communicationless hell, in exchange for one good game with a competent squad.

@@VirtualTech Yep, it's got three different chats. Proximity, squad and team. Team is only reserved for squad leaders.
Squad chat works pretty good, and proximity is where you'll hear the best gamer moments.

it just needs the battle chatter, kind of like in the red orchestra and rising storm series. Otherwise the only chaos is the explosions and gunfire, which is a bit quiet in my opinion.

I feel bad for you man :( Every game I play there are people yelling 'MEDIC!!' on proximity chat whenever they go down, and if I can't find a squad with comms I go find a new server. If they added random battle chatter it would detract from the emergent experience I reckon

Post scriptum would be a million times better if it was optimized with a bigger community. I always refer to Hell Let Loose as the arcade version of Post Scriptum. Love them both but post scriptum wins my heart as a whole.
I wish the developers would just have joined forces. PS is so much better in sound, realism etc. But Hell let loose has more content, variety and graphics while the gameplay is way too arcady. Together they would create the perfect WWII game

I 100% Agree...Hell Let Loose's high detail graphics creates a level of immersion that rivals any AAA WWII shooter out there, and although Activision's COD Vanguard may have the more advanced engine, it'll also come with a ton HUD and screen clutter that will most certainly break any immersion it's graphics can create, not to mention the usual unreal COD bullet sponge enemies and impossible vehicle physics it's known for ;)

Only notification of a kill that you get is when you headshot someone and a “dink” is heard
Had a go on PS5. Everyone on there was playing it like it was COD, all lines broken, no team work. I gave up.

Atmosphere unmatched. Hmm. Most of the time perhaps. But landing on Omaha or Utah beach on your own or with a couple of offence is certainly not a great atmosphere or a great game.
I have played the beach with 50 both sides, that is awesome. Great game but sometimes it gets it wrong.
I bought the game pre release and the performance issues alone were enough to get me to refund.
I dont think I'll ever buy it again cause ultimately the gameplay isnt for me, But I have to admit I do like watching people play it.

It was my second game we were defending as the German it was just me and my small squad they charged a trench I had to hold out on one side while my teammates tried to take a building back I killed so many people before I had any backup

This is how real the kills in all battlefield games should have been 1 to 2 bullets to kill instead of a whole fucking magazine in a half. Also would have been great to have story mode instead of just online.
Battlefield was never a milsim, It's is own focus.

Sound and visuals are amazing, but the AI seems weak. They're hardly ever firing. Mostly just scrambling forward, waiting to be killed.
