I finally got round to watching this one, as I put it on my list after your comments about the North South Trail on my channel 😊 WoW- you’re not kidding. that was brutal coming back out of there. But, all in all, such a great trip! I followed along with my map so I could learn more of the details along the way. I particularly enjoyed your capture at 47:52 ☀️ It’s the shame some of those trails aren’t maintained better. I know people who hunt in the area regularly, that have offered to take in a chainsaw to clear some of the trails, but NF service won’t allow any motorized vehicles- and that includes the use of chainsaws. I appreciate your commentary- helps me to know which places I want to avoid for the next trip. I prefer Tea Creek Wilderness in Pocahontas Co… Cranberry’s next door neighbor. The trails are blazed and better signed.
Thanks for watching and I'm glad my video could help give you some information about the trails in the cranberry wilderness. I also wanted to say that you have a really nice, calm camera presence and great editing in your videos and I will definitely be checking out more of them. Also, do you know anything about the Laurel fork wilderness? I have heard it is nice and there is an old plane crash there that could be something fun to find.
Nice trip! The North-South Trail deservedly gets a bad rap from UA-camrs, but if you keep going, or better yet, start out at the northern terminus at the Cranberry Campground, you will find it a very nice trail indeed. Very lightly traveled for sure, which makes it all the better, in my opinion. And for me, I'm not always on the trail anyway. LOL
I'd definitely like to dedicate another trip to the cranberry wilderness. It looks like there are alot of cool things to explore. I just wasn't really prepared for the Bush whacking and I generally don't stray too far from the trail haha.
When in doubt, add more coffee. Best pro tip. 😂😂 Great video.

Interesting, like your video but back in 2017 I found almost 98% of the trails easy including the North-South trail.
That's interesting. I'd like to get back to this area again.
Keep the Cranberry wild. No trail maintenance
