      @@eznemo2346 Nothing to be nervous about bro!! I went from literally no riding experience, only took the MSF course on a ninja 300 for 2 days then straight to the R7 after a few months of shopping and was completely fine.I took it slow for the first week, just around back roads and stuff. You're going to love it bro!

    I started on a 84 shadow 500 (491 cc, 50hp and 30ft-lbs torque) I've wanted to start on a super sport cause I knew i could control my wrist and respect the motorcycle. I wasn't ready for that high of a budget though.
    This coming year I'm looking into either an R7 or a massive upgrade to a zx6r or gsxr 750 (I would go with an R6 if I could find one but sadly not many around my area rn Im lowkey hoping I win the R6M that C2W is building). The guys in my group I ride with warned me that if I plan to just jump up another tier of bike in the future after getting an r7 it would make more sense for me money wise to not waste the money on the r7, and go straight to a 600 super-sport or middle-ground with the 750 over a liter bike. That being said I would like my finisher bike I want to be the R1 or R1M.
    My only reasoning with not getting an R7 is I know I wont be able to keep up with them on the freeway during the fun zoomy time. Not that I can keep up that much on my cruiser as is but corners I do fine in I am getting into more of the technical riding I have sharpened my low speed skills and still practice them every chance I get.
    Feel like I need some guidance on it. I trust my riding I ride my own ride. I am still learning and will continue to learn, but after 3 months on a 500 I'm craving that power bump. Like Twisties I can make fun by going a little more speedy in and I actually lean my cruiser I ended up scraping part of my exhaust and foot peg yesterday from getting to much lean in. I know not the smartest thing to do but I know I can respect these machines. I can think outside of my wrist and actively continue to learn while giving myself access to more power.

    I plan on buying one next spring (could’ve got it now but I don’t wanna pay for a storage unit for couple months of riding) but do you recommend getting it with a quick shifter as a new rider or would it be better as a new rider to avoid it to get better at shifting?

    • @OneCleanKawi
      @OneCleanKawi Рік тому

      the quickshifter would allow you as a new rider to focus on everything else but knowing and having good clutch work is a key riding factor to staying in control. i have a z900 that doesnt have a quickshifter or autoblip and its fun for a raw experience

    Would you recommend for a beginner with no bike experience? Debating between an r7 or CFMoto 450ss depending on how I feel after I take the MSF next month.
    Also I’m 5’10 with a 32-33” inseam so I don’t want anything that’s physically small.

    • @JohnHubz
      @JohnHubz  6 місяців тому +1

      I wouldn’t normally recommend a sport bike as a first bike because it’s an aggressive riding position and can be more challenging for a beginner to maneuver. I think a better option is a naked upright bike like its sister (MT07). With that said, power wise it’s a bit twitchy/snappy in low rpm so just be careful but it’s not a bad option.

    I have a bmw g310r and am looking at upgrading. I sat on a r7 and it felt pretty good but I dont want to grow out of it too fast. Do you think it would be a good upgrade or should I go for something with a bit more power?

    • @slowrider05
      @slowrider05 Рік тому

      it depends on your riding style. I had a ninja 300 then bought a gsxr 750. It’s perfectly dailyable but it’s got so much power that i don’t even use, i feel an r7 would be better for my riding style since i tend to just cruise and ride casual, plus i like the low down torque. No matter what bike you’ll get you might second guess yourself but i sat on an r7 and wanted one too, but it’s cheaper to buy a used bike, so that’s what i did. I’ll prolly get a r7 later or the r9 but nonetheless i kept my 300 so that’ll tell you something

    • @JohnHubz

    • @JohnHubz
      @JohnHubz  Рік тому +1

      @@SIRA063 I’m not super familiar with that platform yet but I will say that Aprilia’s can be maintenance intensive and expensive to own and for that reason I do not suggest them to new riders. If you have the budget, I’m sure power and tech wise it’s a great bike. Probably a bit fast if you’ve never been on 2 wheels, but have good discipline and throttle control and you should be fine. Just keep in mind it’s a lot more expensive to fix if you go down. Get some good frame protection asap.
